It won't stop crying no matter what you do and you really wish this thing had an off switch. 3. Lost baby. What do you mean where's the baby? Don't you have it? Wait, you mean, you don't? FU-- WHERE'S THE BABY?! 4. Perfect baby. Your baby never cries. In fact, it doesn't really do much of anything. Wow, this project sure is easy! . . . Dude, it keeps staring at me. 5. Not my baby. This isn't your baby but you're watching it for a friend until they get back from that super important meeting. They've been gone all day and you hope they'll get back soon. 6. Twins. You're taking care of your baby and someone else's baby. (bonus option: you're taking care of another baby and another and another and another. . .) 7. MY BABYYYY! What the hell did you do? Your baby is broken. You've failed your assignment. Maybe you can put it together and no one will ever notice or try to steal someone else's baby. 8. Crack baby. [ AHAHAHAHA THAT'S FINE. Kouta can pout at Kaito to help out because taking care of two is too much for him alone, I guess? 8DDDD ]

[If Kaito was hoping to do whatever it was that he did every day then he had another coming. Why they got saddled with two of these things instead of one, Kouta would never know but he'd accepted the task nonetheless. So here he is, barging into Team Baron's hang out spot carrying both swaddled egg babies that were, thankfully, quiet right now.]

Kaito! You're supposed to be helping me with this!

[He might be just a little stressed out.]

[ Who on his team just lets people barge into the Baron HQ anyway? Kaito will have to find out who was supposed to be watching the door and give them a serious talking to. Though this is Kazuraba, and he has that persistent attitude and that puppy-dog-eyed face. He probably convinced whoever it was that this was super important. It's really not. ]

Why should I help you? I didn't ask to be part of this.

[ Kaito could not care less. He'll just put his feet up on the table and lean back in his chair while Kouta struggles. ]

Because we're partners for this and I can't watch the both of them by myself all the time.

[Yesterday had been tough enough as it was and Kouta didn't think he'd be able to hold out until the end alone.]

[ Kaito snorts outright at the idea of being considered Kazuraba's partner in anything. ]

Should've thought of that before getting all- [ Kaito waves one hand dismissively; he can't even bring himself to say the word 'excited'] about us being put together.

[ He'd been all excited and now look where he is. Hadn't Kazuraba realised that Kaito just wouldn't care? Pass, fail; so what? What practical application to life can this assignment possibly have? ]

[This face, Kaito. This face. Wailing sounds suddenly come from the eggs and Kouta turns his attention away from the stubborn Baron Leader to what he's carrying.]

Oh no. Hey, c'mon, stop crying.

[He tries the whole rocking motion which quiets one of them but not the others.]

[ Kaito is not weak to your face, Kazuraba. Nope. Not one little bit. Try again.

...Well, don't try again because Kaito doesn't need your pouting and pleading. Luckily he doesn't need to voice any of that because the stupid egg babies provide a (noisy) distraction. Kaito shoots an impressed look Kouta's way. ]

Shut those things up, will you? This is a civilised place.

[Unlike the Gaim garage where allsorts of nonsense happens.]

[Excuse you Kaito. The Gaim garage is plenty civilized!

When the rocking proves to be ineffective, Kouta marches over to Kaito and carefully pushes the quieted egg baby onto him.]

Hold him for a sec.

[He doesn't bother waiting for a yes or no before he's grabbing the milk bottle imitation and seeing if that is what the egg baby was crying for. Thankfully it was and the shrill cries cease.]

[Kaito is stunned by Kouta's daring to place one of the egg things into his arms, but even more so by his words.]

Him? [Kaito can't completely hold back a small guffaw.] Did you hit your head recently? It's not a him, it's an it.

...Next thing you'll be telling me you named the things.

[ Although Kazuraba is sentimental enough that he might not have wanted to do it without Kaito. ]

Not. Yet. [Well, if Kouta hadn't already of course it would've had to have been on the future agenda.] You even get attached to inanimate objects.

[Though the supposed inanimate egg babies can be pretty animated at times, making all that stupid noise. Kaito offers the egg baby he's holding back out.]

[Right's no dancer, but he does have some respect for Kaito and several other people being really damn good at those skills. That, and the fact that Kaito cares about his dance crew, deep down underneath that tough exterior, is what makes Right try and be friends with him, despite Kouta's objections and concerns.

However, even that kind of odd friendship is being strained right now by the wailing eggbaby in his arms right now. They're supposed to be raising it together, and today was Right's day to take care of it. But no matter what he does, it just wouldn't Stop Crying. Hence, a pounding at the front door with the poor little thing wailing away.]

Kaito~! Please open up! C'mon~, lemme in!

[Even before Right's loud pleading through the door Kaito had been able to hear the eggbaby shrieking; hence ignoring whoever was at the door. (Okay, Kaito knew it was Right, but it's much easier to ignore someone when you don't give them an identity). Unfortunately, Right just isn't that easy to get rid of. He seems to get more pitiful with his begging the longer he's left alone on the doorstep, so eventually Kaito has to go open the door out of sheer annoyance.]

What? [He stands firmly in the doorway so that there's no way for Right to slip in past him.] Why are you bothering me with that noisy thing?

[Right looks like he hasn't had a moment's worth of rest all day...which is the truth, really.]

Can you help me quiet our kid down? Pleeeeaaaase? She never cried around you very much!

[Yeah, the eggbaby really is howling like it's being hurt constantly...]

[ Kaito doesn't care how tired Right looks, he's not going to take a second glance and raise an eyebrow at Right's stressed look and tired eyes, nope. ]

First of all, it's not our anything. [Kaito finds, annoyingly, he has to raise his voice to be heard over the wailing. He's almost shouting this time.] Secondly, it's not a child! And thirdly, it's not a she!

[Yeah, he's outright yelling now, to try to drown out the eggbaby, not to mention his volume being fueled by how angry he is. And suddenly a little embarrassed by the people now looking at them.]

Just give it here. [He reaches out irritably, tucking the eggbaby under his coat to smother its cries.]

[Right winces at that last bit.]

You shouldn't insult her like that, Kaito; she's very sensitive....

[But he does gently hand the eggbaby over to his study partner. The baby still wails... but not quite as loudly.]

"She" is a robotic egg, it doesn't feel anything.

[ And if he has his hands free right now he'd be making the air quotes to go with his sentence. Luckily the sarcasm in his voice makes them loud and clear even without gestures. ]

Is it shutting up or is the noise being dulled by my coat?

[ Kaito isn't actually asking; he endeavours to find out for himself by lifting the flap of his coat. The wailing is as loud as ever. He quickly hides it again as though he canmake the eggbaby disappear by simply not looking at it. ]

Why isn't it shutting up.

[ That's not a direct question either okay. ]

I dunno!

[Right whines as the poor eggbaby seems to keep crying. Though now that she's wrapped up next to Kaito, it's not quite as loud as it was before, once it starts sinking in as to who was holding her now.

Right, however notices it.]

...y'know, she doesn't seem as upset when she's with you. Maybe if you're the one feeding or cuddling her, it might help quiet her down...

[Doesn't seem as upset when she's with him?! It's an eggbaby! Kaito scoffs.]

What nonsense. It's not as loud because I'm smothering it, that's all. You should stop treating it like a baby. It's fine to do this with it.

[Right said something about feeding it, though. Even if Kaito could sit on the thing with no trouble it is programmed to accept "feeding". He holds out his hand for the bottle.]

Let me try it then. Feeding it.

[And yet, even as he's arguing with Kaito, Right does dig out the bottle to put into his hand.]

[ Thank god Right isn't the type to point out that Kaito is in fact 'playing along' as he shoves the bottle unceremoniously into the eggbaby's 'mouth' - he's not really! It's a machine, and he's just following the system sequence to shut it up! SHUT UP.]
