high school au meme

1. first day
Catch up with old friends, brave new teachers, fight your way through the sea of students, and hope you're in the right classroom. Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.
2. first period
You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.
3. lesson proper
You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.
4. faculty
Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!
5. lunch break
Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.
6. hooky
One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.
7. detention
What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.
8. p.e.
Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.
9. home ec.
Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!
10. lab work
Frog dissections! Explosions!
11. school fair/festival
Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?
12. theater
Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?
13. library
If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.
14. bully
Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)
15. tutor
You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.
16. clubs
Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...
17. sports
Every school has their main sport - the one the school is know for! So go out to their last game a support your school with some pride.
18. prom
Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?
19. graduation
Well, it was fun while it lasted. It's time to say those last words, settle those scores and get ready to grow up.

[Honestly? Chara didn't want to go at first, but Kitsune had urged them to. And hey, the more they thought about it, the more of an okay idea it seemed. They could get decent food and fuck around the games, maybe make a friend if they were to go so far. Probably not. We're talking about the kid who always has a small weapon on them, be it a rock or a plastic knife.
Of course, this means they're not the most popular in the school. Uh, pretty far on the other end of the spectrum, actually. Which obviously attracts bullies, and the only reason they still get bullies is because school regulations keeps them from traumatizing students. Just swell that those same bullies had to ruin the school festival for them too.
One of the older-grade kids, from either the junior or senior year (they don't keep track), saunters up to them like he owns the school. Like he deserves all the attention in this place. Like the entire festival is dedicated to him. Needless to say, Chara's mood does a 180 straight into a ditch. He's grinning down at them with what many think is a winning smile, but to them he looks like douche canoe.
Thank god he's alone, at least. Dealing with cliques are the worst.]
Well, well, [he says.] Looks like you're all alone even when you're surrounded by people.
[Chara internally cringes. Can he get any more stereotypical?] That has got to be the lamest taunt I have ever heard.
- Not as lame as you, at least.
- That's even worse.
[For a while, they seem fine handling themselves. An impenetrable wall to his shitty taunts, until something happens and things get heated very quickly. The bully is yelling snarky insults- Chara is a spitfire with a tone to match. And them suddenly they draw a toy knife.]
Fine. Let's see if you can keep up.
[The sick grin they wear is legitimately scary, but pride won't let the other back down- still, he's hesitant.]
Oh, you're giving up? How embarrasing. Rearing for a fight you're not even ready for.
[Apparently, insults was a good way to turn his fear into anger. He says,] Oooh, you're gonna regret this, Dreemurr!
[He runs at them. They stand still, flip the knife once in their hand, dodge, and slam the thing right in his back as he passes. Doesn't pierce skin, but sure as hell gonna leave one hell of a bruise. Someone might wanna stop this mess before it descends into a clusterfuck.]

But apparently it was because she got distracted flirting with the guy selling cotton candy and before she'd known it he was gone. That's what she gets for taking her eyes off the prize.
It was by luck that she'd caught a few words carried on the wind. Agressive words and then her last name. It was enough to make her groan and follow the noise.
Sure enough there was a fight, and it looked like even though he was out numbered Chara was doing pretty well for himself. But if anyone official saw this her brother would be suspended, maybe even expelled and it wouldn't matter who started it.
Time for a bluff, taking out her phone she brought up an app she'd used for pranks before and blue and red lights began to flash from the screen reflecting on the shadows nearby while she stayed out of sight. In her best damsel voice she called "Officer! Officer they're right over there! Some hooligans are fighting!"
Hopefully the bullies woulds poke faster the Chara and try to abandon him for the police to find.]

[Ooh hoo hoo. They know what trick. They look over at the bully, who looks frozen with shock and fear, and laugh.]
Hah ha ha! Looks like you better start running! I'd hate to see you suspended for beating up an underclassman.
[Sure enough, he takes off, but not without giving Chara an angry look and a false promise for revenge. They wave it off- they know it's all just empty words and looking bigger than you really are.
They turn to the direction of the flashing police lights.]

[Chara's fine. Kitsune stopped the fight before the other dude had a chance to retaliate.]

And I'm grateful that's only a toy knife. Even if you didn't hurt anyone the real thing would get you thrown out so fast that MY head would spin.
[She's concerned, but still smiling because they avoided it this time.]

They put the toy knife back under their sweater.]
Yeah, well, the student code says I shouldn't stab people. [They're joking.] So there's that, at least, right? No real harm done.

I know OF him. I know his family is well off and so he thinks he can get out of almost anything...though apparently fear of being arrested is enough to make him bail. Maybe he didn't want to use up Daddies money on something so low level.
[Here she shrugged.]
I'd still be careful around him. If he thinks he can get you to lose your cool and do something you can be reported for, he'll shoot for it.

She looked surprised, though she supposed it wasn't that surprising. She was popular but her reputation was not exactly sterling. She was more popular for being the kind of easy going girl that boys thought they could get lucky with despite her always avoiding committing to going all the way.
