Back from the Dead

Everyone you know and love thinks you're dead. They mourned for you, laid flowers on
your grave year after year. Aren't they going to be surprised to find you alive and well?
{ reposted from here. }

HOW IT WORKS:
❧ Post a comment with your character's name, canon, and any relevant preferences.
❧ If there's a specific scenario you like best, set the scene.
❧ Or leave your comment blank and let others use RNG to choose.
❧ Have fun!

SCENARIOS:
① Took longer than I thought → Maybe you went on a voyage and presumed dead. Maybe you were stranded on an island, kidnapped by pirates, or lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Whatever the case, you're back now, to everyone's great surprise.
② Amnesia → You sustained a traumatic head injury that left you unable to recall your identity. It's all come back to you and now you're faced with the realization that the people who knew you before have moved on with their lives.
③ Sleeping Beauty → Due to magic, science, or some happy marriage of both, you were put into a deep sleep to be awakened at some point in the future. Maybe your friends and family weren't aware of the plan. Wakey, wakey.
④ Only mostly dead → Think Frodo and Shelob. You're thought dead and your body's left behind. Only, you weren't as dead as everyone thought. Oops.
⑤ Faked it → Maybe you've been put in witness protection or you're a secret agent no one can know exists. For whatever reason, you had to fake your own death. Now it's safe to go back to your life. How are you going to explain that?
⑥ Back from the dead → You really were dead. But you're not any more. Whether it was divine intervention, Dr. Frankenstein, or aliens, you're alive and kicking once again.
⑦ Choose your own adventure → Mix and match or make up your own!

[Faking his own death is something Loki is a specialist at, but I would also be interested in exploring things out of his control like amnesia etc]

Ororo didn't have to be a telepath to conclude that the various reports of strange occurrences happening down near Broadway were probably being perpetuated by a mutant.

Now, she knew there was always a chance that the Avengers were up to something instead, New York City being their home base, but that didn't mean she was willing to ignore the signs. If it turned out to be none of her business, then she'd be one her way once it was clear mutants had nothing to do with these rumors.

As Ororo approached the block where the most people were gathered, a sudden fiery explosion up ahead sent most of them screaming and running off in all directions. She was the only one who hurried toward the destructive sound, now more convinced that even if this wasn't a mutant, something was going on that needed immediate attention.

Approaching an area of smoke and rubble, she summoned a swift gust of wind to clear the air ahead. There was a person there, alright. That was the most Ororo could conclude from a glimpse alone. "Hello? Are you alright in there?"

[ooc: I am very sorry about the wait on this tag. Things kept getting in the way of responding. If you don't want to continue, I understand, however I am up for it if you are :)]

He does not know who he is.

He woke a scant three hours earlier in a hospital room surrounded by expressionless men in scrubs and white coats. They do not know what happened to him, they do not know where he came from, they do not know his identity. All they know is that he arrived with severe injuries that should have killed him, and they were gone within only a few hours.

They want him to remain. To be tested. To be checked by the authorities. To be tagged.

He did not remain. He ran, though somewhere inside he did not think he fled from the doctors or the government agents. He felt as though eyes were seeking him out no matter where he moved. Golden eyes of all-seeing power, though why he felt that he had no idea.

Nervous energy and fear built within him as he ran, and pushed something else to the boil. Something that prickled at the inside of his skin until, all of a sudden, it erupted out of him in the park and suddenly all was light and noise and chaos. He scrambled back from the sudden apparition of a woman beside him, speaking for the first time since he woke. Words flowing from his tongue in an accent he does not recognise.

"Who are you? Was this devastation your doing?"
