Kidnapping meme

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. |
i. Scenarios ① kidnapped for ransom - everyone wants to make a quick buck. and what quicker way is there than ransoming someones life. Not that everything always goes to plan. Let's just hope that everyone comes out alive and happy. ② kidnapped for revenge - Someone was on the wrong side. Maybe it's the significant other of an Ex. Maybe it's the Ex themselves. Or perhaps it's even more complicated than that. Either way, there's nothing sweeter. ③ cracknapping - Okay, so you didn't mean to drink that much, but now you have woken up in a room with a bunch of mascots from the game and what is going on? ④ kidnapped for help - We need you help. Whether you're willingly up to offer it or not. ⑤ kidnapped for their own good - Want to get you out of a bad situation. It's for your own good. Trust us. You're safe now, you won't be hurt any more. ⑥ accidental kidnapping - okay. so this wasn't... exactly what was planned. But looks like we've got an extra person now. W H O O P S ??? ⑦ wildcard - Anyway you want it. ii. relationship ① kidnapper and kidnapee - The prize and the thief, what better combination? ② kidnapee and rescuer - Don't worry, they're here to save you. ③kidnapees! - Well. Stuck together. This is a good bonding moment. ④ kidnappers anonymous - All of you need to get together and feel bad about yourselves. ⑤ wild card - That's the way you need it |

Kylo Ren | Star Wars

[OOC: Yaaaaasss! Come to the Dark Side, we've got cookies and angst. So much angst. Let me know if this works for you.]
[Kylo could sense the potential within this one from the moment he had encountered him on some backwards, out-of-the-way planet. He was Force-sensitive, there was no doubt about it. As a Knight, it was his duty to take someone with that much potential under his wing and train them. He knew that the Dark Side had a certain reputation among the greater population of the galaxy. They didn't know any better, poor ignorant fools, but it did make trying to convince someone to join him all the harder.
So, obviously, the only choice had been to kidnap him. It hadn't been that difficult to isolate the boy and then use the Force to make his mind sink into unconsciousness. When Jacob awoke, he would find himself on a ship with manacles around his wrists. Kylo was standing at the other end of the room, intently watching him.]

[Jacob could sense Kylo's presence almost before he awakened, and it was like nothing he'd ever felt before - there was something vertiginous about it, like standing at the edge of an impossibly deep chasm with a sickeningly fast downdraft, and though Jacob could tell there was some strong emotion clawing at his guts in response to it, he would have been completely unable to say whether or not that emotion was fear.
Maybe it was something worse, something more insidious.
His first instinct was to try to shield his mind - if not to stop whatever that emotion was, then to at least keep his thoughts as opaque as possible to his captor - which was fortunate, because his next was to worry about his mother. Though the Force wasn't anywhere near as strong with her as it was with him, she still had enough ability with it to teach Jacob what few tricks he knew, and that made her a target. Jacob wasn't going to ask if Kylo Ren had gotten her too; if he had, Jacob was bound to know about it soon, and if he hadn't, then the worst thing Jacob could do was hint at any potential source of leverage his captor might obtain over him. He couldn't hazard a guess as to what this was really about, but he'd heard about the kinds of things the First Order did, and he knew he wouldn't be alive right now if there wasn't something worth their time they thought he might be able to give them.]
...Whatever you're going to do to me, just get it over with.
[Not that he expected things to go that easy on him.]
no subject
Why would I do anything to you? You're special.
[He'd just as soon destroy a priceless piece of art. He stood there, looking down at Jacob like he was a prize that Kylo had won. While he was disposed to treat his captive more kind than most, he also wasn't going to leave him alone for a moment. Force users were unpredictable at the best of times.]
no subject
That had him bristling even more than the Sith's presence.]
So when why am I restrained?
[That, there were slightly fewer possibilities about than exactly why Jacob had been taken, and he figured the most likely among them was that Kylo Ren knew exactly what kind of presence he exuded - and that because of that alone, Jacob's first action on waking might have been to make some attempt to attack him that would inevitably have injured himself worse than Kylo. Even now, Jacob couldn't say he didn't want to try to punch that stupid mask off the other man's face - but at least he was awake enough to realize that the less cooperative he seemed, the further his already miserable odds of escaping decreased.]
no subject
[He said bluntly. Jacob had been kidnapped and taken Force only knew where. Were the positions reversed, Kylo would be going absolutely crazy in one of his rage-fueled tantrums. He knelt down in front of Jacob, tracing a line down his cheek slowly with the edge of his gloved hand.]
If you want your chains off, you'll have to do it yourself. Use your anger.
[There was no better time to start training than the present. Granted, making a Force-sensitive youth get his manacles off first thing was asking a bit much, but Kylo wasn't going to treat his prize with kid gloves. He was going to jumpstart this kid's powers by tapping into his raw emotions and making him give into them.]
no subject
[Which was only partially true; Jacob suspected this was a road he'd been down before, albeit not with another Force sensitive - just with a man who had wanted to be a god, or maybe the devil. The darkness was something Jacob had been a little too fascinated by back then, too. And, now, as then, he was less angry than he ought to have been - but then, the fact that it wasn't only himself he had to be concerned for made it easier for fear to take over.
Until Kylo reached out toward him.
He leaned as far away as he could within the confines of his restraints; as difficult as Kylo's presence alone was to handle, his touch was bound to be even worse.]
Don't fucking touch me.
[And it was - but not just because Kylo Ren was strong with the Dark Side. Jacob had always been able to pick up a great deal about other people, about their mental states, through physical contact, and as much though he was trying to inhibit that feedback, the contradictions pouring off the other man were enough to make his head ache. Still, he was able to pick out enough coherent pieces to give him an idea as to how to free himself.]
no subject
The Dark Side is calling to you. I can feel your fear, your anger. Use them!
[He was going to push Jacob until he either snapped or gave in. Going either route was entirely fine by Kylo. If he couldn't turn this Force-sensitive youth, there was bound to be another one out there somewhere.]
no subject
He already knew his own anger wasn't going to be enough, so he focused on Kylo's instead, didn't resist as it filled him, though he had to work to shut out the despair and pain buried beneath it. For a moment, he felt it - felt the way anger made everything right in his world, felt the power and lure of the Dark Side - and he focused on the restraints, trying to pop them.
And nothing happened.
For the first time, it all set in - that he might die here, that he might actually die now, that he couldn't breathe and his hold on the power he'd felt and on consciousness were slipping, and that the last thing in the galaxy he might see would be that stupid mask, and--
Then the rage and frustration and fear and pain all focused to a point, and in that moment, everything was gone except for the fact that every fiber of his being wanted Kylo's blood. The click of the manacles unfastening didn't even register, nor did the fact that they offered no resistance when he swung his fist toward Kylo's gut - he was too intent on his target, and on the completely inexpert Force push he tried to couple with the blow to make sure it hurt.]
no subject
[Kylo watches the boy's struggles first intensify and then seem to grow weaker. Frankly, he's disappointed. What a pathetic little whelp. He expected at least some fight in Jacob, but clearly he was mistaken. Ah, well. Maybe he'll find better prospects in the next Force-sensitive youth he fin-- Then he feels a blunt blow being smashed into his side which loosens his fingers from Jacob's throat. The pain he can handle as he wraps a hand around his waist. It's just another way to channel his powers through the Force. Now he knows that he made the right decision in kidnapping Jacob.
He laughs, a cruel, breathy sound that becomes distorted and even more unbalanced as it goes through the voice filter. Getting back to his feet, he claps his hands twice together in a slow manner, happy that Jacob had passed his little test.]
Good work. You'll make a fine apprentice.
[He holds a hand out to Jacob to help him up.]
no subject
Too bad he couldn't have been right.
As he stared at the hand Kylo held out to him, he realized just how much he wanted to take it - more, in fact, than he'd ever wanted anything else in his life. But he knew what would happen if he did, knew what kind of bloodshed he'd probably end up being responsible for in the long run, and, unlike Kylo, his self-pity wasn't evolved enough for him to justify that to himself. If joining him was the only way Jacob would make it out of this room alive, he was probably better off dying here, if only he could keep himself convinced of that.]
Not to you.
[Jacob's voice was much steadier than he'd expected it to be, as were his legs when he got back to his feet.]
no subject
[He wasn't terribly surprised. When he'd been the same age as Jacob, he'd have been young and stupid enough to turn his back on the abilities he'd been granted as well. Also, being strangled half to death might have been the wrong way to persuade him. But Kylo, while not a patient man, did possess something in the way of cunning. Violence hadn't swayed the boy. Maybe words would.]
What else are you going to do? Go back to that mudball I picked you up from and try to live a normal life? [The scorn in his voice was clear.]
You can try to escape your destiny. But you'll always wonder about how close you were to touching power, to really grabbing ahold of something that was the start of a whole new world for you. Your powers can open up a new path for you, one where you shape your own way.
[He reaches out with the Force, pressing lightly into the boy's mind. So, his mother had been left on the planet. Kylo could use that.] You could protect the ones you love, keep them safe from experiencing harm ever again. All I'm asking for is your loyalty.

[Sounds good to me. Do you mind terribly if you set this one up? My brain just doesn't seem to want to cooperate.]

[Poe's ears are still ringing as he drags himself away from the wreckage of his X-Wing. Whatever had shot him down, it had been stealthy enough to avoid his sensors. Luckily the left wing had taken most of the damage, meaning he'd been able to set the ship down without getting seriously injured but it had been a near miss. And with the planet being mostly swamp, there's no way he'll be able to salvage what's left out of the mire. So that's another ship gone in as little as two months.
Trying to steady his breathing, Poe slogs through the mud and speaks into his helmet radio] Dameron to base, does anyone read me?

[Kylo's shuttle is on one of the only patches of firm, dry land as the battle continued to rage both on the ground and overhead. He'd been directing the troops, but he sensed something out there in the swamps. It was the presence of a mind he'd touched before. Leaving the troops to sink or swim on their own, he'd taken a speeder bike out into the mire to seek out the person he felt.
Poe's mind acts like a homing beacon for the knight. He zooms past the trees, urging the bike towards the pilot. Now that he's closer, he knows exactly who he's looking for. The bright orange uniform sticks out amidst all the grey and brown sludge. He brings the bike up in a quick turn, cutting off any chance of escape. He hovers there on the bike, not saying a word.]

Poe's up to his knees in the murky water, wading towards what he hopes is a dry spot when he hears the sound of a speeder approaching. With nowhere to hide and little chance of finding cover quickly, he draws his blaster and hopes he won't have to use it.
Dread pools in his stomach when the bike and its rider cut him off. There is a face, or lack there of, Poe would have been perfectly happy never to see again.]
We've got to stop meeting like this.

I'll be taking that.
[He almost hopes Poe tries something stupid. He'd dearly love to take off a hand as retribution for helping to blow up Starkiller Base.]

[Kylo easily catches the gun, storing it in the belt at his waist. It's a little disappointing to have the pilot give up so easily. He scoots the speeder forwards until he's right in front of Poe and then gestures to the space still left on the seat behind him.]
Come on.
[Having the pilot behind means that Kylo considers the threat from the other man to be minimalistic. What's he going to do, jump off? He'd just land right back into the swamp.]
no subject
Once more he raps on the side of his helmet in the off chance it might be working again. Nothing. With great trepidation he hauls himself into the back of the speeder behind Kylo. Maybe if he can find a way to unseat him, steal the bike... He really should have tried something before now.]
Nice ride.
no subject
Hold on.
[Kylo whips the bike around in a wide turn. The Force gives him quick reflexes, though from an outsider's perspective he drives recklessly, jerking the bike only at the very last second to avoid running into obstacles. He doesn't turn his head as he speaks, the words being carried away into the air.]
You just keep having a string of bad luck.
[He'd almost feel sorry for the pilot if he wasn't still in a fury over his last escape.]
Not pushing for a response, just thought mine needed improvement
