[ooc: Feel free to ignore if OCs aren't your thing :) But just in case, a bit of background info: Evaris first contacted Hawke and his companions with a request for help in flushing out the assassins assigned to kill him. Once they were out of the way, Evaris pledged his help to Hawke because he thought it could lead to something fun (mainly, violence and treasure, if he got into The Deep Roads expedition). So we could probably safely assume a little CR ;)]

The cold in this city was a merciless bitch, and yes Evaris would sooner blame the weather than his own sparse dressing. How dare the bitter winds stir their flurries and compromise the comfort of his bare arms? Let no one say the dark elf wore his scars with anything but brazen, half-crazed pride. Even the winter-cold winds couldn't convince him to properly lace his shirt and find a cloak.

They were sufficient to drive him into familiar covers, however. There were fewer sources of warmth quite so satisfying as a wanting body. Evaris' scar-spattered arms slithered through the sheets, and wrapped firm and unapologetic around the other elf's sculpted chest. They had shared a few drunken indulgences by now; allowed the liquor to draw them into hazy intertwined slumber... But Evaris was not drunk, he was cold.

"Maker's tits, you're almost as frozen as I am," he muttered, "and yet you still resist the evils of shoes... and over here, my toes are shivering inside my fur-lined boots."

[Depending on your perspective, the timing of this power failure was either fantastic or awful. It just so happened to hit while Athrun was entertaining, no less. He'd invited Maki over just to spend some time between the two of them, and this power outage was ruining his plans. Not to mention that it was a cold winter's day. Add on top of that the fact that this was supposed to be romantic, and Athrun's at a loss.

On the other hand, he had an idea how to salvage this. He emerges from his bedroom, carrying his comforter, and when he reaches the couch, unfolds it. After spreading it out, he drapes it over Maki where she sits on the couch. The comforter is still cool to the touch, but it's very good at containing body heat. Getting warm shouldn't be too far off.]

[Julian stretches, wiggles his chilled toes underneath Jim's warm legs, tangling them together. Going back to Iowa for Christmas celebrations is one thing, but it's cold out, the wind is howling and he's pretty sure they're not going to be able to dig themselves out of this much snow til spring, and this far out, away from weather control stations and even power generation facilities, well. Sometimes the power goes out.

There's lanterns, and a fireplace providing heat and light both, but Julian doesn't tolerate cold fantastically well. Therefore, thick socks and blankets and curling around Jim like an overly affectionate (and equally heat-seeking) cat is in order.]

How does anyone tolerate living here. Honestly.
