( studying is sort of hell sometimes, but essential if the two of them want to stay on karasuno's volleyball team. everyone has made that painfully clear to them time and time again though it's not as if kageyama and hinata don't try. in fact, they both try really hard. sometimes kageyama's excellent memory pulls through for him and sometimes it doesn't help him one bit on his tests, and ever since hinata pulled that stunt where he answered his questions off by one, some of their teammates haven't let him off the hook. of course, kageyama hasn't, either.

that goes for right now, too, kageyama staring down hinata as the smaller of the two of them drifts off over his homework. dammit, they're supposed to be doing this together and hinata is this close to drooling all over his paper. kageyama would never admit it to hinata, but even like this, hinata looks damn adorable. it's maddening, it makes him so pissed that this dumbass can look so cute when he shouldn't be cute at all.

it's become somewhat of his duty to bring hinata back down to earth when he strays from studying (talking to yachi about volleyball the first time they had her help them study is a great example) and this is no exception. the fact that kageyama wants to lean over and pull something lame like kissing hinata's big, dumb forehead doesn't change anything.

besides, if he did, well... things could get bad. it's been a good few weeks since they've last done it, and hinata sitting there so defenseless is bad for kageyama's heart. probably some... other... parts of him, too. spinning his pencil in his fingers, kageyama reaches over and with the eraser of his pencil, pokes hinata in the cheek. hard. there's no guarantee this will make him stir, but kageyama figures he'll start out slow. the longer hinata is drifting, the more annoying it will be (the more agonizing looking at his dumb, sleepy face will be) and that's when he'll rely on tactics like shaking him or slamming his fist on the table. )

Hey, dumbass! You're falling asleep again.

[ Studying is the last thing Hinata wanted to find himself doing with Kageyama on a Friday night. But if he can't keep up and get his homework done, then... Well he might as well say goodbye to the volleyball club.

He couldn't help it when he ended up drifting off. With as much stamina and determination as Hinata had, reading over the same few English sentences over and over again until you remember it all is exhausting.

Kageyama's room smelled like him, and that only made Hinata even more comfortable and sleepy. He stirs only slightly when he's poked in the cheek. He's awake enough to be able to scoot over towards Kageyama and place his head on Kageyama's shoulder. ]

I don't wanna study anymoreeee...

( kageyama stills when hinata rests his head on his shoulder. he is not making this any easier for him. hinata is warm, and so is his room now that it's winter and the heat is on. it's making the atmosphere a little too comfortable and maybe kageyama can't 100% blame hinata for starting to fall asleep. ... pfft. yeah, right. of course, he can blame him.

hinata's messy hair tickles his neck and makes him shiver just slightly. kageyama attempts to shrug his shoulders enough to get hinata off of him, but it doesn't seem to work. he looks positively disgruntled, eyebrows furrowed and lips curled into a grimace. hinata can't see it so it's sort of useless as a threat, but this is usually kageyama's default expression, anyway.

whatever. hinata gets one warning. )

It's not gonna be my fault if I jump you. You're the one who wanted to study.

[ With a pout, Hinata moves his head off of the taller boy's shoulder and places it in his lap, sighing gently. ]

Let's do something else before I really fall asleep for good!!! And then we can study some more... Okay? We can watch volleyball tournaments on the computer or something.

[ It's been a little while since the last time he had gotten intimate with Kageyama. It had been awkward to say in the least, but it wasn't a negative experience. In fact, he really enjoyed himself.

reaching up a hand, he cups Kageyama's face in his hands and sits up just enough to give him a quick peck. He's allowed to do that without Kageyama getting angry... Right? ]

( no, not right. sure, hinata will occasionally give him kisses and vice versa, but kageyama has been holding back every time they study. now hinata is putting his head in his lap and giving him this quick little kiss and it's enough to tint kageyama's cheeks red but not enough to be satisfying. what does hinata not understand about i'm going to jump you?

true, their endeavors into more intimate things have not been the most perfect-- and it's unlikely they ever will be-- but kageyama likes it and he thinks hinata does too. whether they're touching each other or kageyama has his mouth around him or is inside of him, it's never been something he's regretted, any complaining to hide that he liked it aside.

removing himself from his thoughts, kageyama puts his pencil down so he has a free hand and pinches hinata's nose. )

Idiot! Did you not hear what I just said?! Are you deaf and dumb?!

--ow ow!! That hurts, stupid!

[ Hinata slaps Kageyama's hand off of his face and sits up. Even if he was shy about it, and didn't really talk about it ever, Hinata could tell that Kageyama really enjoyed being close together in that sort of way. It made him happy. Almost as happy as when he gave Hinata a really good toss, or when he was holding the ball in his hands just before a serve. Knowing that made Hinata just as happy. ]

No-- I heard you! I just don't... I wouldn't mind! If we were doing that instead, I mean...

[ and that's the truth. He really means it, that he wouldn't mind if Kageyama jumped him. Although he didn't mean for it to come out quite like it did. He was hoping to be smoother about it. But then again, it's Hinata Shouyou. Not exactly the spitting image of smooth. ]

I-if you don't wanna, then forget I even said it!!

( pulling his hand back, kageyama watches hinata as he sits up and attempts to make his way through telling him that he wouldn't mind messing around. he sounds like an idiot, sure, but something about it still makes kageyama's stomach fill with butterflies and his heart pound in his chest. does hinata really want to? maybe the offer to watch volleyball tournaments was just a coverup.

it doesn't surprise him that after hinata confesses he wants kageyama to do things with him that he backpedals, probably out of embarrassment. fuck. he's so cute. )

I wouldn't have warned you if I didn't want to! ... You know we're not gonna study anymore after we do it. If we do it.

( he pauses, and adds a little gruffly, a hint of shyness in what he says. )

If you don't want to, we can watch videos.

( he might be serious about jumping hinata but he'd also never want to do anything hinata didn't want from him. )

[ Hinata smiles a little bit. He doesn't mind the idea of not studying afterwards. He in fact would be just fine never studying again. But alas, he must. For volleyball.

But not right now. Right now he gets to enjoy the other boy's company. It was rare that they got opportunities like this, where nobody was home and they were just alone together.

He watches Kageyama carefully, and shakes his head. ]

Mm-mm. I.. I really want to... Do that. [ Hinata sort of mumbles out his word. Timid. He's very timid. It doesn't take a genius to see that he's still a little shy about the whole thing. But he's still eager

So after a pause , he decides to climb into Kageyama's lap, getting settled and comfortable. ]

I-is this okay...? If you don't like it, I'll move.

( he wants to tease hinata for his struggle with saying that he wants to do it with kageyama, but for the moment, he holds back. hinata is sincere but timid, and last time hinata seemed pretty into it, so he tries not to worry about hinata forcing himself. kageyama might be made of 95% anger most of the time, but he doesn't entirely lack empathy. just social skills. and communication skills in general. and--

when he decides that maybe he'll tease hinata anyway, it's too late, and hinata is already settling himself in kageyama's lap. kageyama is briefly at a loss for words. oh. um. okay. this is fine. )

... Yeah. ( a pause, maybe kageyama is going to be nice for once, and then... ) Like I'm gonna say "no."

( there's another pause, and kageyama is running his hands up and back down hinata's sides until they rest on hips hips. his eyes flicker from hinata's eyes to his lips. he wants to kiss him. )

... Kay. Good. 'Cause I'm comfortable.

[ Hinata pauses for a second, just enjoying having Kageyama all to himself like this. He gets to be close with him and touch him and kiss him. Nobody else gets to do that.

He feels like he's on top of the world.

Without any further hesitation, he leans forward ever-so-slightly to brush his lips against Kageyama's. His lips are still soft. Warm. He loves it. ]

( kageyama is a little less hesitant when he returns the kiss, closing his eyes and tilting his head into it as his hands on hinata's hips tighten. they haven't had a lot of time for more than quick kisses recently, so now, kageyama intends to take advantage of this. they've studied enough. it's fine. right?

he won't be the first to admit it, but kageyama loves that hinata is his and his only. kageyama is his setter and in turn hinata spikes his tosses. nothing feels better than pulling off a successful move with hinata. well. maybe not nothing. maybe this kind of beats it, just a little. at that thought, kageyama tugs hinata a little closer to him, almost enough for them to be pressed together. )

[ Hinata grunts a little as he's pulled forward, slipping his arms around Kageyama's neck, just to be able to pull him even closer... If that's even really possible.

His cheeks are already heating up, he can feel it. His breath is picking up too. He's already getting kind of excited...

After another few seconds, he pulls away from Kageyama and looks at him. There's a pause, and he smiles. ]

Heehe... Kageyama... Your cheeks are red, too... It's kinda cute.

[ He leans down to press a few light kisses to Kageyama's neck. ]

Do you wanna move to your bed?

( at hinata's first comment, kageyama's eyes widen briefly and he jerks his head to the side, frowning. he is not cute. before he can protest, hinata is leaning forward and pressing gentle kisses to his neck and kageyama exhales, any angry words he had dying on his tongue. he likes getting attention there as much as he likes kissing hinata's neck himself.

but, the bed. right. it would be good to move there. )

Where else are we gonna do it? The floor? ( grabbing hinata by the back of his thighs, his hoists him up and over his shoulder, depositing him on his bed shortly afterward. kageyama hovers over him, quietly admiring hinata (though it probably comes across as kageyama staring daggers at him, what with how sharp his eyes are) before dipping down and reclaiming his lips in a little more of an insistent kiss. )

[ Well, they've made out on the floor before. So Hinata wouldn't have really been surprised if Kageyama had decided he wanted to do it there.

Hinata lets out a little "oof" when he hits the bed, glancing up at Kageyama only to look away. He's staring pretty intently... It's almost scary, but Kageyama just looks like that when he's focused!

There's a moment of hesitation again, before Hinata decides to slide his tongue over Kageyama's lips gently, trying to get him to open his mouth for him. ]

( good thing hinata's boyfriend or... whatever kageyama is to hinata-- a rival, a teammate, a friend, or all of the above-- is considerate enough not to do him on the floor. that would be hell on hinata's back. ... maybe someday. with cushions, or something.

mr. timid is being rather bold about slipping his tongue across kageyama's lips, tentative as the gesture might be. it's not like hinata hasn't done it before, but how shy he gets about asking for it makes kageyama want to tease him. kageyama opens his mouth in response to hinata's silent request, taking the opportunity to slip his tongue into hinata's when he does. he tries his best not to crack their teeth together with how excited he's getting, but it's difficult. they haven't done this for a while now, and the more kageyama thinks about that, the more desperate he gets for contact with hinata.

that said, a hand starts to find its way under the smaller boy's shirt, feeling across his abdomen in obvious appreciation. hinata is so warm. )

[ The hand slipping under his shirt makes Hinata's heart pound in his chest. More than it already was, if that was even possible.

Kageyama's mouth tastes sweet, just like always. It's a taste Hinata loves. What's more, is he loves knowing that nobody else knows what Kageyama tastes like. That thought alone is enough to make Hinata's breath pick up. Ahh he's getting really excited. He hopes Kageyama doesn't notice.

He pulls away suddenly, just for a second. ]

Kageyama... Can I take your shirt off?

( kageyama is more than reluctant to break the kiss between hinata and him, but he does anyway, peering down at hinata. he looks a little annoyed, why does hinata keep breaking their kisses? the answers to his questions are important enough, he guesses. it's possible hinata is just really eager, more than he let on. he's sure he'll find that out for certain soon.

bracing himself on his hands, he sits up, looking down at hinata. )

Only if I can take yours off. ( fair is fair, after all! )

( ooc: also, sorry for the delay! i've been hooked on tales of zestiria and got sucked into it for the past few days... )

[ ooc: no worries!! ]

[ There's a pause, while Hinata squirms a little under Kageyama's harsh gaze. He didn't mean to upset him by breaking all those kisses! He just wanted to ask to be sure. ]

... Yeah. [ He nods. ] B-but you first! 'Cause I asked first.

What? No way. ( kageyama grips the bottom of hinata's shirt with a hand, fingers curled around the fabric. ) You first, because you asked.

( it's not like he has any objection to letting hinata take his shirt off or taking his shirt off on his own. it just has to be an argument, a competition, like almost everything else between them. )

[ Hinata grumbles and nods. ] ff-fine.

[ and then he moves his hands to let Kageyama take his shirt off. ]

( that's another win for kageyama. with both hands, he lifts the shirt up and over hinata's head, quietly admiring the way it makes his messy hair even messier.

he's supposed to let hinata take his own shirt off next, but instead kageyama is pushing him back down onto the bed and leaning down, pressing his lips to the crook of his neck. his hands find themselves at hinata's hips, holding him still as he kisses and nips at his skin.

he's not really playing fair here but, oh well. )

[ Hinata shivers a little bit when he's pushed down. It's sort of exciting being pushed down roughly. Kageyama is not playing fair at all, and Hinata's already starting to show signs of excitement, which makes it even more unfair. Kageyama doesn't get to look cooler or sexier than him!!

He squeaks as lips are pressed to his neck and his skin is nipped at. It's not really a feeling he'll ever quite get used to. ]

K-Kageyama... You're not playing fair at all...!

( that squeak almost stops him. it makes him hesitate, but this is a noise kageyama isn't unfamiliar with. it doesn't mean hinata dislikes it. )

You're just slow. ( his words are mumbled against hinata's skin, kageyama unwilling to move away from his neck. it's not like he's against taking his shirt off, or anything. he just likes to tease hinata sometimes. as further proof of that, one of the hands on his hips slides down to palm him through his shorts carefully. )

It doesn't look like you really care, anyway. ( there's a cocky tone to his voice, but no grin to compliment it. before hinata can complain too much, his mouth finds a place on hinata's neck and he sucks, hard, intending to leave a mark there. he doesn't do it purposely, or to even silence hinata. it's just kind of... on instinct. )

[ Hinata's first instinct is to try and close his legs to avoid Kageyama having further reasons to tease him, but instead he ends up opening them a little more to give Kageyama easier access. He wasn't supposed to find out that Hinata was already this excited!! ]

Th-that's not it... I do care, stupid! [ There's a pause while he feels Kageyama starting to leave a mark on his neck. ]

Aah-- W-wait! What if someone sees this during practice!

( what hinata says suddenly clicks with kageyama and he realizes what he's just done. he pulls away to look at hinata. the spot on his neck is already a little red and though it's not really all that big, he can tell it's going to be noticeable. )

... put a band-aid on it. ( he sort of looks unsure about his suggestion, but it'll work, right? ) Or say you got hit with a volleyball... or something.
