Comment with your character, preferences, preferred role, and any information you'd like to include.
Your character has either been injured/sick and had to be taken in (possibly against their will) or has been the one to help somebody like the former. Through the mending process, the two characters in a thread have fallen in love - or at least grown closer and more affectionate.
[They were both pretty beat up, but Sora had ended up taking the brunt of the attack. So they were taking turns patching each other up. There was only so far a cure spell could take you, after all.]
You really shouldn't be so reckless. [A light, affectionate flick to Sora's forehead] What would Kairi say if she saw you like this?
[Not that he could really talk, but he was significantly less beat up]
[At the flick to his forehead, Sora wrinkles his nose back at him.]
Hey, don't hurt the injured! And I wasn't the only one being reckless. Besides, protecting the people I care about is important. [Sitting back and letting Riku take care of it hadn't been an option, he'd had to jump in to help, too. In the end, it was a good thing he did.]
And Kairi knows that, too. [...She'd still get on to him for being reckless just like Riku is, though, if she were here. And he knows that. Thankfully at the moment he only has to feel bad for making one of his best friends worry about him.
He's mostly been ignoring his own injuries in favor of making sure Riku was healing. But finally he gives his own a glance over, shifting where he sits with a slight wince. ] ...I think I'm done bleeding now. [That sounded slightly more hopeful than reassuring.]
[Riku rolls his eyes, but there's a fond smile on his face. He sits down next to Sora with a tired sigh and leans back against the wall]
I know, but... just be a little more careful? Please? I don't want to loose you.
[Ever since their mastery exam, ever since Sora was nearly swallowed by Xehanort's darkness like he had once been, Riku had worried about his friend. Not about Sora falling into darkness, Sora was too strong of heart of that. Actually, it would better to say that ever since reuniting with Sora in The World that Never Was back when fighting the first Organization XIII Riku had dreaded the day they would be ripped apart again]
I'll make you a promise. You be more careful and I'll be more careful? Okay?
[Like that would ever happen. Both he and Sora would give their lives for each other, for Kairi, and all their friends if it meant keeping them safe. Kairi would be just the same once she finished her training, and that would only double the source of Riku's worries
He gave Sora a once over]
Yeah, you're done bleeding for now. We'll have to check in a few hours.
[He closed his eyes and yawned]
Just don't move so much. We don't want to reopen anything.
[As Riku leans back against the wall, Sora copies the movement. Though laying down somewhere soft sounded great to him, he's not really sure if it was something that was possible. Staying put here was probably the best idea.]
I know. [He answers quietly, and returns the fond smile with an affection one of his own. It felt like he was always having to find his friends again, and it was always hard to be separated from them. But at the same time, he also had faith they'd always find a way back to each other.] But you're not gonna lose me. 'Cause even when we're apart, I'm always right here-- [He points to Riku's heart with the arm that hurts the least.] --Right?
[Still, when Riku initiates a new promise (even one that seems more words than anything, an attempt to ease both their minds), Sora agrees to it.] Yeah. I promise.
[Because what was one more promise to his friends? Sora never saw them as difficult to keep, or himself unwilling to keep them. But promising to try and be more careful, and actually managing to be more careful, were definitely two different things. And Riku had it right: there was too much to protect, staying careful in the face of that just wasn't an option.]
Hey! [This is said in response to Riku's yawn. Sora doesn't sound too happy about it.] Are you going to sleep on me?
I might. [And he yawns again. He probably won't actually go to sleep. Though his body wants to.
He reaches over and puts a hand on Sora's shoulder, giving it a squeeze. His own thoughts were mirroring Sora's own. They would always find each other again. But that didn't mean Riku wasn't going to fight tooth and nail to keep Sora and Kairi close. Or at least know where they were at. He would always feel guilty, however, because he would always blame himself as the one who got them all separated in the first place. He's getting better at letting that guilt go, and one day, maybe when he's fifty, he might be able to let it go completely.] And I know. We'll always be connected.
[He moved his hand from Sora's shoulder, poking the other boy's chest, his fond smile softening even more.] Because I'm here. Don't forget, I've actually been in there.
[In that big, big heart of his, that had offered sanctuary to those who needed it.] I think I've left some foot prints in it. Sorry about that.
[Sora's mouth opens, as he's about to say something about how if Riku gets to sleep, then so does he, but a yawn of his own comes out instead, and he brings a hand up in an attempt to cover it.] Geez, your yawns are contagious.
[Maybe after everything, it's not such a surprise that sometimes their thoughts just run on the same wavelength. He knows that there's still guilt that Riku's holding on to, but hopefully it helped that both Sora and Kairi had already forgiven him of any possible transgression. There's also so much that Riku's done since then, there were no wrongs left that he hadn't already righted.
Sora's smile widens at Riku's words.] Yeah.
[He laughs, as much as he's able since things still hurt. Then he lays his head back and closes his own eyes for a bit.] Foot prints, huh? Doesn't sound like something you have to be sorry about.
