[You have a visitor on your mountain, Red.

She seems a bit wiped out as she reaches the summit, with a Ninetales at her heels. It's cold, she's tired, but she's here, if only to see what was at the top.] Made it...

[Sometimes someone comes up the mountain in search of strong Pokemon. Or sometimes bragging rights. Either or. It's a difficult trek for anyone, and most turn back before getting all the way to the peak. Those who do find the battle of their lives waiting for them.

Red is, after all, the missing Champion. The wonder child who suddenly took Kanto by storm three years ago, and just as suddenly vanished. He's kept up his training and hasn't lost to those few who find their way to him. They're the cream of the crop, too, the mountain acts as a natural sorting algorithm so only the best and most determined reach him. He doesn't say much, tries to keep his exact identity from getting out, that kind of thing, and it works out pretty well for him.

He hasn't lost a battle yet.

So while visitors are rare on this frozen peak at the top of the world, Red has a policy in place for dealing with them....but this one seems more tired than most. Perhaps she's more of an explorer than a fighter...? He approaches quietly.]

Long hike?

[She offers a weak smile and a nod.]

Just a bit. The air's awfully thin up here too, you know? [The Ninetales tilts her head at the boy, but stays near her trainer.] The view's... just as amazing as I thought it'd be, though...!

[Came all the way up here for the view? She really is an explorer. Red can definitely relate; that's what his own journey had been about. Well, mostly. It was also about chasing...a friend, and about proving himself, and in no small part about quelling Team Rocket. But it was mostly about the wide open sky and finding roads that hadn't been taken before, going off the map and discovering new places.]

Breathtaking, right? [Was that a pun?] I never get sick of it.

Ah-- [She laughs, resting her hand on the Ninetales' head.] I can imagine...! It's so glorious...

[The Ninetales yips in agreement, then finally wanders from Annalise's side to nose at the other human's hand. Pets pls.]

[Pettings, huh? Okay. He's good at petting Pokemon. ...Okay, he's no Daisy. But he definitely knows what he's doing.]

People don't make it up here very often.

[The Ninetales leans into the touch, clearly satisfied.]

Mm, so I heard. But the ones who do... they all want to battle, huh?

[He knows better than to touch the tails, and he knows how to dig his fingers in to work out knots in the muscles or hit itches. No expert in it, but he has a lot of experience. There's very little better than petting Pokemon in this world...]

Yeah, pretty much. The sightseers usually decide it's not worth the danger. [Anyone who is in it for the battles is only going to be deterred by the physical challenge the mountain presents, and its mazelike caverns. The most stubborn of those find him. Those few are the source of the rumors about an elite trainer somewhere on the mountain.]

Well, no risk, no reward! [She beams.] And I'd say a view such as the one here is quite a wonderful reward...

[So not only is she an explorer, she's a bit of a reckless one.]

I agree. [It's so much more worth it to see what few have. A picture never does it justice.] So you aren't interested in battling?

[regalradiance]

Not really! Battling's not really my thing. [And yet here she is anyway...]

You don't mind if I stick around for a little while, do you? To catch my breath and drink in the view a little more. [And then she seems to remember something--] Oh! I'm Annalise, by the way.

[unblazedtrail]

You must be skilled, though.

[It's a little bit of a shame, he enjoys his infrequent battles. They're always challenging and fun. But he won't make her - just the company is nice. He never really liked the whole 'our eyes met and so we must do battle' thing.]

Not at all. ...Red. Yeah, that Red. [Most people have heard of him.]

[She always thought it was silly. She might battle later but...

Nah. The view's too nice.]

Red, Red... [She frowns a little in thought before realization strikes.] Oh! That Red. [The Ninetales eventually wanders back over to Annalise and sits, the blonde immediately kneeling to pet her.] And this is Lisette!

Yeah, that one. [The hotshot Champion who vanished without a trace. He'd been a sensation when he became Champion, of course, after everything with the Rockets, but it was disappearing that really put him in the spotlight. Ironic, really.]

Nice to meet you both. I'd offer food but it's all dehydrated stuff, not sure you want that.

I'm not from around here, so I didn't really recognize the name right off the bat, I'll admit... [But she's heard the stories.

She offers a cheery smile.] Dehydrated doesn't bother me. It's what I've been living off of the past few days, myself.

Can't be from Kanto or Johto, then... [He's met that one trainer from Sinnoh, and a couple from Hoenn... Not many, though. But they hadn't really been very familiar with him, they'd heard of him a little. Didn't know the details. Red prefers it that way.

He's really not a big deal... He's just some trainer.]

Alright. [He grins as he dumps some of his food pouches out of his bag. Some of it is dehydrated and some is freeze dried. Sometimes he has fresh food (he doesn't need a refrigerator up here), but not today. Stroganoff, pecha berry stew, curry, sweet and sour meat and rice, scrambled eggs, razz berry crumble, leppa berry crisp, neopolitan ice cream... He's got a bunch of high-quality camping food. And, of course, plenty of Pokemon food.]

Anything look particularly appealing?

Kalos. [She grins, before looking over the selection.]

Ah, the curry looks good!

[!!] Never met someone from Kalos before.

[He gets a pot and fills it with ice and snow - up here, the air and snow are as pure as any mountain spring. He unleashes his Charizard. The beast doesn't mind its tail being used as a campfire. Doot doot, boiling water.]

It's a lovely region! Definitely a wonderful place to explore if you're ever so inclined.

[There's a pause, before Annalise asks--] Would it be alright if I let out the rest of my team?

I should definitely check it out sometime. [He's out of places to explore in Kanto and Johto by now. Though his Johto adventures were largely hindered by his fame and desire to stay under the radar.]

Go ahead, there's plenty of room up here.

[regalradiance]

[Her face lights up a little and she nods, letting out the rest of her team. Her Glaceon, the brat that he is, immediately jumps onto Annalise's lap. Right at home, the little guy is.

Her Aegislash floats to one side, unsure of what to do. Her Togekiss, making an unhappy trill at the chill, nestles into the side of Annalise's Ampharos, who bleats a laugh and pats the Flying-type's head. Gallade simply bows to Red and remains standing.]

[Red nods to the Gallade. He has plenty of Pokemon food to share around, though maybe he'd best not let out all of his team. They're large and eat a lot. But he does let out Pikachu, who instantly burrows into his trainer's lap.]

I know Ampharos and....Toge.....tic? But the rest are definitely foreign...

Hyacinthe is a Togekiss! It's the evolution of Togetic.

The others... [She'll point to them as she names them.] Renaud here is a Glaceon. Glaceon is the Ice-type evolution of Eevee--as you can probably guess. Pierre is a Gallade--an alternate evolution of Kirlia, accessible only by male members of the species. And Vivienne is an Aegislash--as far as I'm aware, they're only native to Kalos.

Togekiss, right. [He listens quietly... Seems like a diverse team. So much progress since he climbed this mountain.]

Maybe I should start a new journey...

Ah, a new journey's always worth it! New sights, new people, new experiences... New Pokemon. [A chuckle as she reaches over and strokes Vivienne's shield. The Aegislash lets out a metallic... chirp? Annalise beams.]
