Or are you? There's a suspect in your disappearance, someone who absolutely had to take you away by force. The picture's clear to all outside parties. Except it isn't that clear cut. You've left, yes, and you've been taken, of course, but you weren't strong-armed into it. You went with this person, this suspect, of your own free will. Because you love them, because you can't be together otherwise, because they offer a better opportunity regardless of your feelings towards them, because you want to escape someone else you know for certain you can't love, or just because you can. Those people who believe you've been snatched away, they don't get it. They don't know you were given a choice...you took it. Character, info, role, prefs, what have you. Thread with others. Will this end in happiness or tragedy?

Parker. [A pause, then an impatient nudge.] Hey. Parker. Wakey-wakey.

[This would be a strange scene to anybody watching, because for all intents and purposes the kid that's presently nudging his bound captive out of unconsciousness is Peter Parker. Peter Parker in his Spider-Man duds no less, mask off, but everything else still Spidey. He walks like Peter, sounds like Peter... hell, he even smells like Peter (he damn well out to, after a week of this).

But he's not Peter Parker. The real Peter Parker is the kid in the chair, the one who'd been cuffed and dead to the world up until a few minutes ago, thanks to a rigged-up IV pumping him full of sedatives. The one who's going to go back to the cuffs and the drugs after a few hours, while he, the impostor, spends another day playing out Peter's life.

It'd be a hell of a messed up situation, if not for the original more or less going along with. Hell, it's still a messed up situation, but with actual Peter's kinda-sorta-help it's been a lot more bearable. Plus a lot safer, for everyone involved (it's Peter who actually showed him how to rig up that IV, saying if he was going to do it, he may as well do it right. Not to mention tutoring him in his own body language, the latter of which has been invaluable in playing out his life).

And it's not like he's just living it up, either. He's stepped into Spider-Man's shoes (well, if he had shoes) too, not just Peter's. He's been fighting the guy's enemies as if they were his own. Doing the things he'd be doing. It's only been a week, and already he's more tired than he's ever felt in his life. How Parker's been doing it for over a year now, and is still sane, he's got no idea.]

Come on. I'm tired, I'll just wait until tomorrow to feed you if you don't start talking to me.

[He says that, but he won't. Maybe he would have at the start, but not now.]

[He wasn't sure it was actually possible to get used to seeing yourself, especially since the other him got so much better at his mannerisms and quirks, and then it was more than looking in a mirror, it was like standing outside yourself and watching your own actions, only at the same time you knew it wasn't you doing them. In short, it was bizarre. He was too old to get used to having a twin, especially a twin that could do an almost perfect impression of him.]
