How do you feel about Morrigan and Kieran?

Weird.

I know what it's like to be a bastard, you know. People talk about you, sometimes right in front of you. And it doesn't exactly make you popular, most of the time. I never wanted to father a child and abandon it.

Of course, he's Morrigan's kid, so he's probably seen half of Thedas. Who knows if it's ever mattered? Or if he even wants a father? Morrigan didn't have one, and she turned out...okay, bad example. But everything hard about her, that's because of the mother she had, not because of the father she didn't. And it's not hard to tell she's raising Kieran differently. He'll be just fine with her. He is just fine with her.

I guess I don't really belong in the picture when it comes to Kieran. I try not to think about it too much.

But sometimes I wonder how he's doing.

You're a man worth knowing. I hope he gets the opportunity to sit down with you and talk one day, perhaps when he's older. I can't imagine any young man's life worse for your being a part of it. Not necessarily as a father, but... generally speaking.

There isn't really a good name for the guy who agreed to father you in exchange for his life.

We'll get tutors. Teach him to use his magic safely. I don't want him to end up like Connor, but...Maker, I couldn't send him away.

They accepted me because I killed an Archdemon. If it got out, they'd take him away.

...Look, he hasn't shown signs of magic yet. By the time he does, things might be different. During the Blight, we'd have laughed at the idea of a mage Divine.

It couldn't be both ways. We'd have to teach him in secret, or let him go to the Circle.

I know, I know he hasn't. I know I'm borrowing trouble. It's just never a very far off thought. What if.

I want to have it both ways, though. I want everyone to see that he's a good, strong boy, whether he can shoot sparks at people or not.

Just like I want everyone to look at you and see the cleverest, most beautiful woman in Thedas. Not just a mage.
