[Ok for Jon to heal Robb back to health?]

[Yes of course!]

Robb was sent back to Winterfell after the wounds he had sustained at the Twins. Most of his banner men were killed along with his mother and wife, Talisa. Perhaps Walder Frey had a weak moment in allowing him to live, but mostly he wanted to send a message that promises won't be taken back. The North will learn their lesson!

There were healers that were sent with him, the few that remained within his camp and who were spared, while ravens were sent out of the news that the King in the North might be dead soon. A forewarning message, even for someone whose alliances changed at the drop of a hat.

Jon had ridden hard over the icy slopes of the Wall down to Winterfell to see his brother. He hadn't cared that he might be breaking the Night's Watch vows about not seeing your family again because he had heard the news. Robb's army and banner men were slaughtered and right now his bastard brother was desperate to see his brother. Jon had already lost his father because of this stupid war between Lannisters and Starks and now his brother had become involved. Damn the Lannisters and their stupid war.

He reached the gates of Winterfell and looked around desperately for his brother. Maester Luwin greeted him with sombre eyes, as he led young Jon snow towards the bed of Robb Stark.

"Robb? What happened? How badly are you injured?"

I'll try really hard to avoid spoilers!

Robb sent the healers away, leaving the two of them alone. He hadn't seen his brother since the day he left for the Night's Watch, and he was rather surprised to see him again. However, his mind wasn't entirely sound and he was running a high fever.

"Badly." His lips were dry and cracked and he was broken out in a faint sweat as he pulled the sheets away. "I haven't seen it myself." He was mostly unconscious during the travel up here, but the healers had done everything in their power to keep him from death. Given the circumstances and his losses, right now he certainly would've welcomed it.

He knew the sisters would be angered at him from undoing his bandages, but the curiosity got the best of both of them. With Jon's help the binding to his abdomen was undone. The wound was packed with healing herbs, but it certainly was deep and red around the edges.

Jon's fears had come true; his brother was seriously injured and he had failed to stop him getting into this state. His throat was dry and his heart felt like a stone in his chest. Why couldn't he have stopped this? Stupid, bloody war.

"Who did this to you? I want to know so I can rip their head off myself." His words were full of venom and he clenched his right hand around the hilt of his sword. Damn them all. He offered his brother a sad smiled and wondered if he would survive. "They can heal you. You're not going to die. I won't allow it."

"Roose Bolton... He aligned with the Lannisters behind my back." Robb licked at his lips, trying to keep his blood boiling from anger.

"You shouldn't be here either. The Night's Watch would consider this abandonment." Robb tried to fix the bandages, but tired out with even such a simple act. If he survived this, he'd pardon his brother, but couldn't speak for the Watch itself.

"I should've died. Mother died. My bannermen died. My wife..." Robb couldn't finish the sentence.

Jon swore out loud and didn't care if any nurses heard him. He was angry and for good reason. His brother was injured, his mother dead, his father executed by the Lannisters and now he had learned that the bannermen had died too. Damn them all.

"Don't. Let me get you something." Jon looked around quickly for something to help his brother's pain. He grabbed a herbal gauze and pressed it to the wound gently. "Don't let them get to you. We're stronger than that. You're stronger than them, we all are. We're Starks and they're not."

There's a quiet 'hmph' from the pain when Jon touches him, but Robb remained his typical stoic nature, and closes his eyes. "I can't help to think I failed the North." He sighed.

"The Lannisters are probably pleased they won over us."

"No. Never. You haven't failed, Robb. No one has." Jon wanted to try and comfort his half-brother, making him feel safe and secure. Also, he didn't believe the defeat was the end of things. Starks lived on, they always did.

"We're the wolves of the North. No one can beat us down. Ever."

It was certainly encouraging to hear the words from Jon, knowing the love and trust remained despite all that's happened, but it would be too difficult to pull Robb out of this funk. It'd take time.

"Sansa and Arya are still with the Lannisters... I didn't make it to save them." Robb sighed and visibly sunk into his pillow and closed his eyes. "It's difficult to think I hadn't let anyone down."

"I know." Jon swallowed painfully. He knew they were with the Lannisters and it pained him to know there wasn't much they could do. The war had cost them so many good lives and he didn't want more people to die. "It wasn't your fault. We can still save them. You haven't let them down, Robb." Jon placed a hand on Robb's good shoulder and tried to comfort him.

"What would father have said? He would have wanted us to not give up. We're Starks, we don't give up."
