It's no secret that in most modern societies, incest is frowned upon these days. "Keeping it in the family" is no longer a necessity, as people can travel freely and go many places to meet potential mates. Of course, that's not always the case. In some cultures, incest is allowed as long as it's not too close of a relationship; Japan, for instance, permits first cousins to be married, as do many. In addition, incest was often practiced in the past, both for convenience. Still, today, it's mostly taboo, though some continue to partake because of circumstance or other factors.

And, as you all know, the Hotel loves breaking a good taboo AND it has quite a lot of...factors.

It's providing them today, everything from the setting to the relatives. But you don't have a living relative, or the person you're stuck with isn't related to you! No problem. Aren't they really related to you? The Hotel will make you believe that, at any rate. There's lots of varieties, too, so it's something the whole family can get in on.

While you may be hesitant or regretful at first (they don't call it the forbidden fruit for nothing), there's something that will turn the tables towards a little more than familial.

[Billy gets why it's messed up -- or at least why other people would think it's messed up anyway. He and Tommy are twins, even if they're not related... even if they're polar opposites in so many way. Their relationship isn't even that far removed from squabbling brothers -- but Tommy has the effect on a lot of people. Billy thinks it's a bizarre game he plays, seeing how many buttons he can press at any given time.

And despite that, he cares for him. It's not just as a teammate or friend or brother either, though he tried to tell himself that a lot in the beginning. He can't lie to himself about the way his thoughts stray sometimes when he's looking at Tommy or the curiosities that are decidedly not brotherly he has sometimes.

It doesn't even feel particularly wrong either. It's not like they were raised together. It's not like they're technically blood related. It doesn't feel as sick as it would be if he was thinking these things about one of his brothers at home.

His hands slip into the pockets of his coat as he moves to meet Tommy where they'd agreed to meet to hang out. He's not sure what all they'll get up to, but that didn't matter. Billy had just sort of learned not to take it for granted, getting to spend time with Tommy after he thought he was potentially lost to them.]

Hey. [There's a slight smile.] And if you complain that I'm too slow, I hurried. We're just not all super fast.

[Tommy, honestly, had even less hang ups. They weren't actually related. Even their souls, if he understood the story, had been stolen from possibly unrelated people. The whole thing was confusing at best. And confusing meant that Tommy basically just took things as they came without trying to overanalyze things.

The problem was what other people might think. No one knew anything about... whatever the hell this was except Teddy, of course.]

Finally. I even left five minutes late. [He was only half teasing, though to be fair to Billy he'd only been waiting for a little over a minute, but to him it felt like forever.] Arcade, right?

[Really, it didn't matter what other people thought to Billy. He'd never cared about being what people thought of as weird before, but to a lot of people, this would go beyond geeky gay teenager into something way worse.

But at least Teddy made an effort to understand and not really judge.

And none of it really mattered right now, he guessed. He rolled his eyes at Tommy.] It's not my fault you're impatient.

[He nodded.] Arcade, definitely... but I'm pretty sure you're going to try to cheat if you can

It's not cheating. I'm just exceptionally skilled... and fast. Being fast helps. [And thinking fast, and reacting fast... the list went on. Alright, yes, his mutation made him very good at video games, and a lot of other things, but that didn't make it cheating.

He pushed his hands into his pockets and nudged Billy with his shoulder before starting off, walking at what he considered to be an acceptable 'Billy-pace'.]

So, what's Teddy up to today? Usually I don't get one of you without the other.

You're too fast. That's why I don't make bets with you anymore. [He always ended up on the losing end and owing Tommy something ridiculous.

He followed with a shrug.]

He's hanging out with America today and then I think he's got a thing later. So you pretty much have me all day.

[Unless something came up... which it tended to do often enough. Heroes and all.]

Oh, c'mon, I'm sure you'll win a bet one of these times. [He wiggled his eyebrows temptingly. Ever since Billy had smartened up and stopped making bets with him, it had become Tommy's mission to try to convince his twin that it was a good idea to start betting again.

He grinned over at Billy.] Sweet! Maybe we can talk your folks into feeding me again.

No way, Tommy. You're not talking me into anything. [Because if he lost, Tommy would never let him live it down.]

You know you're always welcome, Tommy, even if it's just for dinner. [He leans in to nudge at him.]

If we get done early enough, my parents aren't home and my brothers are out too. We'll have the house all to ourselves...

[Which frankly, might have sounded a bit suggestive than he meant it, but whatever. It meant they got to do whatever they wanted and play the video games loudly or watch bad movies on the bigger screen in the living room without any complaints...]

[He pouted, but he knew that by now Billy was all but immune to that.]

I mean... you say that now, but you know I have to stay scarce or your parents start asking where I'm staying and all that and try to get all... 'parent-y' at me.

[He gives Billy a nudge back and stays close, nearly rubbing shoulders as they walk.

At Billy's offer, his mind immediately goes down the suggestive route and his eyebrows jump up before he dissolves into laughter.] Oh, really, well that's good to know. [And where Billy had possibly not meant to be suggestive, Tommy's grin definitely was.]

They worry about you. They're disgustingly good parents like that, right?

[Okay, so Billy actually liked it. They were cool and they took Teddy in without any problem...

He doesn't even mind it when Tommy stays close either, it's kind of nice -- at least until it clicks in his head what he's saying. Wow. Of course his mind would go that route.

He reaches up to give Tommy a playful push, his own expression going sheepish.] Is it? Please, what makes you think I meant you'd actually get lucky?

It's... I dunno. Overbearing and kind of weird. [He had no idea how to react to that kind of treatment, which usually meant he was left feeling awkward, despite their good intentions.] I mean, there's only so many ways to 'politely' say no. And we tried that before. The curfew rule alone was a deal breaker.

[No idea how to react and the fear that stifling rules would make him lash out, eventually ending in a falling out between himself an Billy's parents, and ultimately Billy. He just wasn't good with rules.

He pulls open and holds the door of the arcade for Billy, grinning wolfishly back at him before following him through the doorway.] Now that sounds like a good prize for a bet.

They're worried about you, Tommy. Even if they can be overbearing. [But he gets it -- and it's not like he's really going to push Tommy to move back in anyway.] You sneaked out past curfew anyway. I know you absolutely had to.

[Because the walls were thick enough to slip out a window -- he knew that from experience. Curfews didn't always work when there were people in danger after all.

He moves through and shakes his head, grinning a bit in return.]

A bet you'd win because you cheat. [He tilts his head to look back at Tommy though, smiling a bit wider.] I was joking anyway... things are definitely happening if we've got enough time.

Yea, yea. [He waves the sentiment off dismissively.] Duh. Because curfew is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

Oh. And sneaking out for superhero stuff too.

[Billy was right... mostly. Curfews also didn't work when there were parties to be attending either. He hadn't paid good money for a fake ID for nothing.]

Oh, come on. It's my natural, god-given talent. I mean, just because someone is a genius does that mean they're cheating on math tests? Nope.

Now where's their DDR? I'm about to school you. Again.

[He grins over at Billy, bumping into him and slinging an arm around his waist. He steals a quick kiss, his kind of quick, the quick that means Billy probably won't notice until he feels the press to the corner of his lips.] So, things aside. I think, if I win you should tell me how amazing I am. Something like 'Tommy. You're the best'. [His eyes shine as he nods enthusiastically, happy with his idea.]

[One night, someone was going to figure out that was an incredibly fake ID...]

Right. [There's a wider smile at that kiss, fonder -- well, mostly fond, because Tommy had to go and ruin it with that. He pulled away enough to give him a push towards where the DDR game was.]

I told you I'm not betting with you again... I'm also not stroking your ego anymore. It's big enough.

[No they wouldn't. He totally looked Hawaiian.

Tommy laughs as he's shoved towards his favorite game, stumbling slightly to play along. He snags Billy's shirt though and tugs him along behind him.]

You wouldn't be stroking my ego, because it's true. Plus, I can think of much better things for you to stroke. [He snickers at his own horrible innuendo and starts digging change out of his pocket.] You're gonna play me, right? Get the blood flowing. Consider it... like a warm up for later.

[He made a show of doing a few stretches before pulling off his hoodie, which briefly dragged his t-shirt up with it until he smoothed it back down.]

Ugh-- [He set him up for that lame stroking joke, too. He can't even complain.] Yeah, yeah, I'll play you.

[And Tommy was totally going to keep bringing up later wasn't he? He has to arch a brow though.] Wow, I might take it back... I didn't know I was getting into a marathon here.

[He reaches into his own pocket for some change and grins and goes to put them in the machine. He actually isn't bad at this game -- even if Tommy has super speed on his side.] Come on, let's do it.

Don't? [Take it back? He gives Billy the most hurt face he can muster in the midst of dealing with the excitement he's feeling that Billy is in the mood to play against him today. He manages to hold the kicked puppy dog look for a moment before breaking into a smile as he shoved his quarters into the machine and hops on.]

Okay, no. Not a marathon, per se. [A race didn't really describe it either, because getting to the end wasn't really the objective, but it was a competition, at least in Tommy's mind it was. A competition to see how good could he make Billy feel, maybe. The best kind of competition.

He stepped through the set up, picking the most challenging level and then started stepping through their song options.] Something... fast... hmmm. [Like he even needed to say it.] I dunno. You pick the first one. We're definitely doing Paranoia last.

Fine, I won't take it back... because that'd be punishing myself too.

[... though he had no idea this was a competition in Tommy's mind. But at least it wasn't a horrible kind of competition.

He hums thoughtfully, going through the list of songs -- it didn't really matter what he picked. They were on the highest level and Tommy was faster, so he didn't really think he was going win this one. Next game they chose? He was totally giving Tommy a run for his money though.

You know what, they're going for Let's Groove.] Ready?

[Billy shouldn't be all that surprised. What wasn't a competition to Tommy?

At the moment, he should just be glad that Billy's attention is on the songs he's moving through, because Tommy goes through a different expression for each one depending on how much he liked or disliked the song, and all without realizing it. His eyebrows jumped up when he spotted another one he really liked, ready to pick that one for their second song.]

Alright. A good warm up one. [He flashed a brilliant smile at Billy as they waited for the first arrows to come up. To be fair, Billy could have gone with an easier difficulty than him, but then he would've had to deal with Tommy poking fun at him all night... and probably for a few days after that.

Effortlessly, Tommy hit every step with more than enough time to pester Billy a bit, giving him one or two little pokes as well as leaning over to blow in his ear. Yup, that's the kind of competition this was going to be.]

[Exactly. It was better to go with the difficulty Tommy was at and lose than hear him teasing him until it was totally ran into the ground. But once they got going, it didn't really matter.]

Tommy! [He complained, reaching over to return one of those pokes to his side when he makes him mess up on what shouldn't have been all that difficult.] See? You do cheat.

But that one was so easy, Billy. [He grins at him, not at all ashamed... or denying the fact that he did pretty much just cheat.] I got bored and had to entertain myself!

[Still snickering, he flipped through the songs as fast as the machine would actually respond, stopping on Beethoven Virus.] I won't touch you on this one. Promise. [His grin was less than reassuring, but he didn't give Billy much time to think about it.] Ready?

I'm ready. And you're a liar, Tommy, that smile says about as much.

[But if Tommy was going to play like that, then Billy had no qualms doing it right back once they got into the song.

Just leveling the playing field and all.]

[Tommy didn't even bother trying to defend himself, giggling and grinning away. He knew he was guilty. Obviously.

This song was quite a bit fast than their last one, the perfect opportunity for Billy to give up and simply sabotage him, so he was doubly determined to still get a perfect score.]

[Really, Tommy?

Yeah, there was just no way Billy was keeping up with Tommy on this one, not when he had a speed advantage. It was way easier to just mess up his score.

Never let it be said that Billy wasn't above petty revenge on occasion... especially when Tommy had gone out of his way to distract Billy.]

You know what? No.

[He reaches out to grab at Tommy, tugging him.]

You're going to win and rub it in my face all day. [And there's a look, just in case Tommy decides to try and make a dirty joke there.]

So, we're through with this one. We're warmed up enough.

Nooo, you're such a sore loser, B! [Okay, so he'd sabotaged him, but still!

He managed to actually keep up for about ten more seconds without missing any steps even while Billy was accosting him, playfully trying to squirm out of his grasp and bat him away at the same time. It didn't take long for him to inevitably get completely derailed.]

Awww, B. Lookit all the- aw, now the thing's yelling at me about missing all the steps. [He stumbled away from the DDR machine trying to pout while simultaneously giggling away.] Sabotage! I barely touched you. You assaulted me. [Obviously he wasn't actually mad, since he was grinning like an idiot.]

Fine, you big baby, what do you want to play next?
