[ooc: yes! of course! BTW, I'm also the Twelve you're tagging "notthehuggingkind". Ten's been my muse for 3+ years. :) ]
It wasn't all that often that you could have a picnic on New Earth. Blanket was spread out, little sandwiches from the shop (oh how the Doctor loved shops!) and some kind of blue juice from a popular local fruit in a small pitcher was spread out before them.
The Doctor's legs were stretched out in front of him, clad in his red converse, while he was dressed in his blue suit today. His armss were stretched out behind him, supporting his weight as he looked at the other people in the park.
"C'mon, Clara! You can't beat this!" Besides, they were needing a day of rest after spending the last two running around chaotically around Daleks.
[ooc: Ooh, good to know. Clara's been enjoying herself over there. Though she probably would have liked staying where she was. Lol I've had a Rose running around here for ages, but she's just about been drowned out by this one and my Doctors.]
Clara couldn't get over how beautiful this planet was. So much like her home, but different. It was definitely a relaxing sight. Their battle with the Daleks had left her mentally and physically exhausted, so she was definitely in need of this. It was, pretty literally, just what the Doctor ordered.
She giggled at her own thought, then glanced over at him. "You really can't." She said, taking a sip of the juice. It really was heavenly. "Think this is just what I needed, Doctor. How did you know?" She paused, and then gave him a playful smirk. "I bet you bring all your companions here, don't you?" She was teasing, of course. "You take them off on some maddening adventure, and then you bring them here to work your charms on them."
Ouch, That hit a little close to home, though at the time his feelings for Rose were rather confusing. Even though time had passed, his feelings for her were even more confusing.
"Mm, not exactly..." Because he did bring Rose here initially for a fun trip but it ended up being a little chaotic afterwards. And the second time was even worse.
Taking this opportune moment, he stuffs a sandwich in his mouth and pointed to something off in the distance in hopes to switch the topic.
She looks up at where he's pointing, but quickly looks back at him, one eyebrow raised.
"Not exactly, hmm? Doctor, you cad, you. I always knew you were a ladies' man."She was teasing him, and punctuated her statement with a playful elbow to his skinny ribs and a smirk.
She had known he'd have to have been here before. He knew exactly where he was going. Truth be told, it really didn't bother her. She knew there had been others before her. All that mattered was that she was the one here with him now, sharing this lovely picnic with him, as he shared a bit of himself with her. This was obviously a special place to him, for whatever reason, and it made her feel special that he had brought her along.
"It's usually a misunderstanding." He replied, giving her a side glance after the poke.
"Mm, but I like it here. The sun in warm, the wind isn't too bad today -- It's a holiday!" A well deserved, much needed holiday. He needed a day where he didn't have to fret that his brash decisions will get Clara hurt. At most here, an ant bite.
"A misunderstanding, hmm?" She was still smirking. "Well, I'm sure that face of yours doesn't help matters..." That might have been her way of telling him she thought he was foxy. She was honestly feeling a bit flirty and playful now that they were here, practically alone. Maybe there was something about running for their lives from Daleks that made her want to embrace the present. Or something like that.
His exhuberance didn't go unnoticed, and it made the tone of her smile change a bit. "Its very beautiful here, Doctor. A wonderful place for a holiday. Thank you for bringing me here." She leaned over, without really thinking about it, and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.
There might have been a smug smile after she had placed this kiss to his cheek. "You're welcome." He folded his arms behind his head and lied down flat, looking up at the clouds floating on by.
"I haven't had a day like this in a long, long time." Of course, he was never quite good at keeping still and often found himself in trouble. OK, he was never good at slow, simple days period. Something often went amiss somewhere.
sorry for the delay! this week has been a pain in the ass!
His smugness didn't go unnoticed either. But she didn't say anything, and just shook her head.
She continued to watch him, even after he'd laid back. "What do you mean by that Doctor?" She asked. "A peaceful day, maybe?" She laughed. "You should try the slow life every now and then... Sometimes there's a lot of those."
He wrinkles his nose and makes a face, "Nah! Where's the fun in that?" He never was good at idle and domestic. Those two words didn't exist in his vocabulary.
"But peaceful, that is a good word. That I can handle!" OK, maybe every so often really wasn't that horrible. It did help ease his mania.

She laid back, looking at the beautiful sky again. "You should come 'round to my flat one day. I'll make you a souffle. My mum's recipe. Good stuff."
