Clara, do you fancy star gazing with me out in the Milky way? [That was romantic, wasn't it? But, more than that, it's fantastical. Something that he found Clara to be.]

[That does sound pretty romantic, Doctor. Perhaps just a bit fantastical, too.]

That sounds...quite lovely, Doctor. But I have to ask. What's the occasion?

No special occasion. Well, not really. I just want to be with you, Clara. [Oh. Was that sappy? Did it make him sound like he wanted a moment alone with her?]

I'd like to, well, uh, it's complicated.

[Sweet, and yes, very sappy, Doctor. Clara doesn't mind sappy, though.]

I want to spend some time with you, too, Doctor. That's why I didn't mind leaving work.

[She raises a brow. Did she miss something?]

You'd like to what, Doctor? What's complicated?

Well, how about we go star gazing and then we can talk. [He offered her a smile and went about pushing buttons and whizzing around the console like a mad man; something he was always good at.

They soon arrived at the point in space, as the Doctor ran to the doors and flung them open. The view that greeted them was one of epic proportions. It was deep space but every single star in the galaxy seemed to shine so much brighter up close.]

Well? What do you think?

...Okay. [She watched him with a curious smile, wondering what was on his mind.

She followed him, but at a slower pace, as he went for the doors. She got chills immediately, and stared in wonder at the night sky.]

Oh, Doctor, it's beautiful. Most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

I thought you'd like it. [Ok, now what? Hug her? Hold her? He didn't know but he wanted to.]

That's the biggest star in your galaxy over there. Betelgeuse. There's Sirius, the dog star. The brightest star in the galaxy. [He gazed upon the bright, white wonder and slowly placed an arm around Clara's shoulder.]

I do. [She started to reach out and touch his cheeks, but refrained from doing so. And for the record, Doctor, she wouldn't have had a problem with either of those.]

So beautiful... this is very sweet, Doctor. No one has ever literally taken me to see the stars before. [She leans into his embrace and smiles up at him sweetly. She ends up looking at him a bit too long, though, and her nerves get the best of her. She bites her lip, and lowers her head.]

Well, I'm not just any old bloke. [He was teasing, as he squeezed her hand in his. He desperately wanted to kiss her in front of the starlight.]

Clara....about the complicated thing. Well, this is probably easier than speaking about it. [He swallowed thickly and turned to face her; gazing into those, large doe eyes. Before he could stop himself, he realised he was actually kissing her.]

I'm aware... [She was teasing back.

And then she was completely taken by surprise. He was kissing her. The Doctor was kissing her. How was this happening? And how was this easier than speaking? How was this even complicated?

She was breathless when she pulled back to come up for air, her eyes full of questions. She voiced only one of them.]

How... How was that complicated... Doctor?

Well, it's complicated for me because usually, I can't express my feelings across like this. My hands go all over the place and then I can't think properly. [He just stared at her and rested a palm against her cheek.]

I just want to try and tell you that I....love you.

[A bit of a teasing smile.]

And what's wrong with your hands going all over the place?

[Her eyes are wide at his admission. She knew he had to love her, just not quite like that. But does that mean in love with her? She's not quite so sure, honestly.

Her hand goes over his.]

I love you, too... It shouldn't be complicated. What's wrong with loving someone, Doctor?

Well, you don't think it looks a little bit odd? [He just stared at her and wondered if she thought it was ok for his hand flailing.]

Loving someone is complicated when you're me. A thousand year old Time Lord, who travels about in time and space. We have a huge age gap, Clara. Have you thought about that? [He offered her a small smile and stroked her cheek.]

Nothing odd about it... As long as your hands are going in all the right places... [There's a suggestive purr in her voice. Yes, Doctor, that does mean what you think it does.]

There shouldn't be anything complicated about it, Doctor. If you love someone... You love someone. Nothing else matters. And yeah... I have thought about that a couple times, but... It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter how young or old you are. You're still you. You're still my Doctor.

[She gives him a sweet smile and turns her head slightly, just enough so she can kiss his long fingers.]

Oh, is that so? [He raised a curious brow to her obvious innuendo. Did it pass over his head? Not this time. He knew exactly was she meant.]

But love is very complicated. Human love anyway. The rituals involved and all the....kissing and stuff. [He could be such a child at times involving sensitive subjects. Love being one of them. At the kiss, he smiled and wiggled his fingers a little. He playfully swiped one over Clara's soft lips.]

Oh, yeah... [And trust her, Doctor. She's thought about your hands in so many places since the moment she laid eyes on you. And all of them were on her.]

I suppose that's because you find humans complicated, hmm? What's so different? Do you Time Lords have arranged marriages or something? [She would find that sad, if true. Not being able to love who you love must be a terrible thing.] And what's wrong with kissing... And stuff? I quite like the kissing... And stuff. [Especially with you, Doctor. She loved the way you just snogged her. She also enjoys your touch.

She lightly, playfully caught his finger with her teeth as it raked over her lip.]

No, nothing like that. No arranged marraiges, thank goodness. [That would be extremely boring and not fair to the female of the relationship.] I once had a companion that got married to a guard on Gallifrey. She was a tribal woman and him a guard. Imagine that.

[He smiled then noticed what she was doing. Was she biting his finger? Oh. Teeth. That felt rather good. He wiggled it and wondered if she would actually take it into that hot mouth of hers.]

[Well, at least there was that. And she supposed that was interesting.

But what was more interesting was him taking notice of what she was doing. She giggled softly when he gave his finger a good wiggle, and in return, she slowly swirled her tongue around it, looking up into his eyes with a hint of mischief in hers.

[He was being playful and was also enjoying the sensation of having his finger in her warm mouth. It tickled but was also making him feel other things. Down below.]

Your eyes are so big. Has anyone told you that before? [He smirked and wondered what she had in mind.]

[She sucked on the tip of his finger for just a moment, then released it with a bit of a popping noise and another giggle.

She chewed at her lip and blushed a bit at his comment.]

No... Is that a good thing or a bad thing, Doctor?

A good thing. They're sort of like a doe's eyes. Big and deer-like. [He was rather enjoying having his fingers sucked and so trailed two more over her lips.]

Your hair is also silky smooth like a shiny coat on an animal. [Was he complimenting her? He hoped.]

[She couldn't help but giggle again at his statements. They were meant to be sweet, she knew, but they were also a bit odd. But that was her Doctor-- sweet and odd, old but somehow so young, suave and yet awkward as could be. And she adored him for all those things, and more. She put her hand over his and kissed his fingers.]

Do you think I'm... Pretty, Doctor?

[When Mr. Clever had been in his head, he'd called her pretty. The Doctor, of course, tried to dismiss it with some silly comments. But it had to come from somewhere, yeah?]
