[ the last time they'd gone as a group, tanaka had insisted they get tickets to see the scariest movie possible, because he "wasnt scared of anything so simple as a little doll" and asahi had spent the rest of the day having popcorn picked out of his hair thanks to tanaka sending the tub flying. he'd sat between daichi and nishinoya, and after, when he wasn't busy plucking popcorn from his bun, he might have remembered the way nishinoya pulled his hand away from his face and held on-- sharing his jumps and jolts through their connected palms. it was comforting, to know he wasn't the only one who was scared-- even if everyone vehemently denied being scared after the movie ended.

[Oh, he remembers that well. He absolutely won't admit it out loud, but he'd have walked right out of that experience if Asahi hadn't been there at his side (and Tanaka at the opposite, getting several 'how-could-you-do-this-to-me-bro' punches to the arm). No, at least if he's picking it himself, well... the scariest thing would probably be the explosions and violence... if that's not too cheesy to really be scared of in the first place. A huge difference, really.]

[Over on this end, Noya's just grinning at his screen and trying to count how many times Asahi stops and starts. Even over here he's a bundle of nerves... but then, it wouldn't be Asahi otherwise, would it?

That does have a nice sound to it. And, yes, it is a rare day indeed when Nishinoya isn't five exclamation points worth of excited, but having that energy directed Asahi's way is... infectious? Heartening? It makes his hands tingle, where they would normally shake. ]
