one. AT HOME you don't need to go anywhere to have a good time. are you doing dishes and singing along to the radio? is it cuddle time on the couch? are you slow-dancing in the living room? whatever you're doing, you've got your favorite tunes on and you're with someone you can at least tolerate for the space of a conversation. just don't crank the volume up so high you disturb the neighbors. we don't want to upset anyone now, do we?
two. AT A CLUB staying home is for suckers, you need to get out to have fun! there's nothing that gets you going quite like making it out to the clubs. are you at a foam rave? a silent disco? is "club" really your way of saying "dive bar with some jerk and a guitar making it hard to drink in peace"? who knows! go meet and mingle and really mangle the words to that katy perry song. you sound great. no really, super great. good job.
three. AT A CONCERT you prefer seeing katy perry live! or maybe it's taylor swift. or pantera. are they even still together? whatever. it's too loud in here for much conversation, but luckily you have tepid lite beer and lungs to shout with, and hell, you don't need to talk to grind or mosh.
four. IN THE CAR are you singing improved lyrics to songs in traffic? are you on a road trip? are you stuck with nothing but "learn a phrase a day spanish" for thirteen hours? no, not that, this is a music meme. pick some good driving tunes and get on the road, buddy! you have to make it to that one place you're going to by nightfall and time's a-ticking.
five. AT A PARTY do you even want to be here? do you know the host? are YOU the host? whatever the case, you've been suckered into coming to this party, but thankfully there's some music playing. make some small talk, eat some finger food, and hell, maybe you'll get lucky tonight and go home with someone. just don't get embarrassing-levels of drunk, okay, you don't want to be THAT PERSON that everyone talks about tomorrow. unless you do, and then go for it!
six. IN ANOTHER ERA are you a period character? do you wish you were alive in the time of great gatsby? what about sock hops? maybe you're more of a disco person, or maybe you like underground grunge clubs. go wild, throw yourself back through time. who cares if it doesn't make sense? have fun, explore your options a little. just don't get caught by the fuzz at your speakeasy party, okay. prohibition's a serious thing.

Asahi can't count the number of hours he's spent at Suga's house. He couldn't possibly count the memories he's made here. Even the small ones, like last minute cram sessions and invitations to stay for afternoon snacks, are special to him. Partially, because Asahi never expected to have a friendship like this, but also because he never thought being around another person could ever be so easy.
Halfway though their light lunch, Suga's mother had excused herself, explaining in her customarily calm manner, only that she was needed at the office and would be back soon. After they finished their lunch, and Suga started clearing the table, it seemed only natural that Asahi help. Which is why Asahi is wrist deep in soapy water, his jumper long since scrunched up to his elbows to keep the cuffs from getting soaked, washing the few bowls and utensils they used. As Suga pulls saran wrap out to cover his mother's unfinished rice and miso, he hums along to the tune of a song he obviously knows.
This is the kind of quiet, amicable moment he could only enjoy with Suga. It's... nice.
Asahi smiles to himself, glancing over his shoulder at Suga. ] What song is this?

It's a lazy sort of Sunday; Suga's invited Asahi over for no reason in particular. Suga is gathering the last stray dishes after lunch, humming (softly, and a little flat) along with the music. Asahi's voice pulls him free of his thoughts and he glances up, smiling. ]
Oh, it's called In a Sentimental Mood. [ Suga's tongue trips lightly over the English words, accented but clearly understandable. He's always been a good student. ] Do you like it? My dad really likes jazz.
[ He comes over to gently place their cups in the sink. Then he reaches for the plate Asahi's just finished with, his fingers twitching in invitation. ] Here, I'll dry.

Asahi likes the way Suga speaks English though, and he's impressed at Suga's use of the English title. ( Of course, that means Asahi has to take a moment to translate it in his head -- but he gets it soon enough. ) ]
I do. [ Asahi says, handing the dish over to Suga when he reaches for it, fitting himself into Asahi's space. ] It sounds the way the train feels, when it's empty and you're going home later than usual.
[ Which- now that the words have left his mouth, Asahi realizes, probably doesn't make much sense. If he didn't have soggy hands, he'd try to distract himself by scratching his cheek, but as he doesn't want to spread dish water all over his face, all he can do is look sheepishly at Suga. ] Does that make any sense?

Yeah, it makes sense. A lot of sense. That's really poetic, don't you think? I like that image.
[ He takes the dish and begins to wipe it dry, thinking. The silence between drags on for a moment, but it's comfortable, broken by the music in the background. ] When I listen to this song, I always think about...fireplaces, and the sunset coming through the window. That red-gold color. [ He chuckles. ] I guess it's pretty different. I think I like yours more.
