the DARING RESCUE MEME

★ HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Post as your character, listing any preferences you'd like respected.
2. The rescuer replies. They can select the scenario, or they can leave it to you to do it.
3. Whoever's doing the picking hits up the Random Number Generator for two numbers: one between 1 and 8, representing who the first character is being rescued from, and one between 1 and 5, representing the reason for the rescue.
4. Alternately, make up your own scenario if you want.
5. Play it out! You can play out the rescue itself if you want, or just the aftermath--or both.
6. Make sure you take note of any preferences a player might have and warn for triggers in the subject line if they crop up.
7. Have fun and make sure you swoon properly!
★★ WHO ARE YOU RESCUING THEM FROM?
1] Their greatest enemy. For whatever the reason, the character's greatest enemy has finally made a move and taken them captive. Who knows what they plan to do to the poor character? Good thing you've come to save them.
2] Your greatest enemy. Your own enemy has decided to make a move against you--but not directly. They've taken this character hostage instead. Show them who's boss and rescue the victim!
3] Natural disaster. Come hell or high water, you'll save the character...and, in fact, it has come hell (in the form of fire, maybe) or high water (perhaps a flood?). Or something like that. Whatever. The point is, nature itself has it out for the character, and it's up to you to save them.
4] Wild animals. Stephen Colbert was right: bears are the number one threat. Or maybe lions. Make sure the character doesn't become dinner.
5] Supernatural forces. Actually, it's dragons. Or evil wizards. Or demons. Take your pick, just so long as you rescue the character from them.
6] Pirates. Just what the pirates intend to do with this character might be a mystery--could be they'll walk the plank, or worse. Time to pluck them from the hook-hands of danger.
7] Vice. The character has sunken into dissolution, perhaps out of despair or maybe from sheer uncontrollable self-indulgence. You're the only one who can step in and give them a new lease on life.
8] Their own bad judgment. The character is committed to a truly terrible course of action. Fortunately, you're here to make them see reason...one way or another.
★★★ WHY ARE YOU RESCUING THEM?
1] Love. The fairy tales have it right. It's true love that spurs the knight to rescue his fair maiden...or vice versa.
2] Friendship. It's not always about kisses and ravishing, you know. Sometimes, you've just gotta look out for friends and family, no matter what sticky situations they get themselves into.
3] Rivalry. Only you're allowed to dish it out to the character! Better make sure no one else gets in your way.
4] Debt. The character owes you, in one way or another. They don't think they can get off easy, do they?
5] Money. Plain and simple: you were hired for the task. It's nothing personal, just business.

2! :D
[Humans getting caught in them however was a rarity. Most avoided the area this time of year, or just passed by the range all together in favor of more hospitable terrain.]
[But this was beside the point, seeing as how there was a human here at the moment and they where very likely going to be swamped by the shifting soil.]
[To help or not to help, that was the question...]
:DDDDDDDDDDD
He's not quite aware yet of how much trouble he's really in. It's just a bit muddy, that's all. And hard to move properly. And he can't quite see any decent shelter...]
<3 C:
[But preventing the hapless human's demise also meant erasing memories, and memories where a tricky thing to work with. Although it wasn't like it would be hard or that he had much of a choice at the moment.]
[With a mental sigh, he called upon his powers to halt the mudslide before it enveloped the boy. The soil and debris where then re-directed down a different route.]
You should not be here.
no subject
And then someone's talking to him in his mind, but that's much more in N's experience. The whole mudslide thing is much more of a source of awe to him right now.]
I didn't know that was going to happen. I'm not from around here. [He sounds like he's trying to catch his breath from the recent spike of terror- which he is- but not at all surprised by the voice.] Was that you? Thank you.
no subject
[He feels that flash of fear, but classifies it as something instinctual. Fear is good, it keeps one cautious and that keeps one alive. And yet, this human still didn't seem to be reacting properly.]
[Most would have been sent off in to a panic at the natural disaster, and then would lose it completely when contacted through telepathy. This one hadn't so much as flinched. Then it had thanked him.]
[Interesting.]
You are... welcome.
no subject
He doesn't feel particularly inclined to argue with someone that's just saved his life, though. Especially since after that, he can't quite bring himself to trust the ground enough to move from this spot. It'll probably be a while till he can get out of here.]
Who are you?
no subject
I am Mewtwo.
[Setting down on a patch of ground that was both stable and a reasonable distance away from N, Mewtwo finally brought himself out into the open.]

fanboyishnessawe.]Amazing...
3, Muse says "OHAI" right now 8D
Mine's too busy with the BRAINMELTING GLEE to say anything XD
At least he seems able to breathe just fine. His left arm is the least buried part of him. What can it reach? ...not much, N's questing fingers report. A couple of rocks too big to move. Lots of rocks too small to do any good. One that shifts so alarmingly that N quickly stops pushing on it for fear of dislodging something that really will crush him this time.]
Aww~ XD;; I've never RPed with an N before either ;; (got like 2 in headspace, but that's different)
N... [Now that Reshiram could pinpoint where N was exactly he swooped down to the ground close by (so that by the off-chance his weight did disrupt the rocks more, it hopefully wouldn't crush N further). From then he moved closer, carefully with each step. The rocks where too big to move,
at least in his human form, simply rolling them off might risk causing more pain too. So, there was just only one other way. Not the most glamorous, but Reshiram gnawed down on whichever boulder was the largest at the time to gently lift it off with his mouth. Having actual hands would be great right about now]no subject
But the landing didn't disturb anything more than a bit of scree, and while the first boulder to be lifted caused a bit of a breathless moment when a stone that had been resting partially against it fell, it landed safely downhill from N.]
Thank you. Don't... go too fast.

Whoops, sorry for the delay ;;
Might have even fluffed up a little in panic][Out of reflex Reshiram tried to push the boulder back up with his muzzle. Hoping that maybe, if N could at least crawl out some ways, he could set it back down after.]

Okay. Okay. I'm, I'm going to be okay...
