The Cute And Fluffy Halloween Meme
The Cute And Fluffy Halloween Meme
[The Rules]
1. Post as your characters, and write down the name, canon, preferences, etc.
2. Choose a prompt, or any combinations of prompts. You can just make up your own prompt, too.
3. Tag away, and be excellent to each other!
[Prompt List]
1. Halloween Shopping - Let's go buy witch hats, costumes, and food!
2. Halloween Cooking - Try making all those yummy halloween delights! Can you make that pumpkin cake actually look like a pumpkin?
3. Trick or Treating - Don't worry, all the candy is perfectly safe. Even the enchanted ones are quite safe, and will just do cute and safe things like make people float for a couple of minutes, or make them have a crush on any nearby person for about 30 seconds. They may also turn people orange or make them giggle for about 2 minutes.
4. The Haunted House - Filled with cute ghosts and other things that go bump in your night. Oh, my, is that your character's dearly departed mother, taking this occasion to come and visit her child?
5. The Costume Party - Fun for the whole family. Even if they magically turn into their costumes, nothing really dangerous happens - If you want your character to be a cute fluffy vampire or werewolf for a few hours, feel free to do so!
6. Wildcard/Make up your own prompts!
Minato Namikaze | Naruto
Hope you don't mind another tag. I thought of a funny idea.
But it was only when the Hokage was preparing to take Naruto out for trick or treating that he realized how fast. His ANBU, a newly promoted captain at just thirteen years old, had never ONCE been trick or treating. He didn't even know what it was. (And chances are, neither did Sasuke...)
I LOVE it!
Minato looked up from where he was helping Naruto struggle into his costume, pausing a moment to take the fake fangs out of his own mouth to look at the Uchiha. He looked vaguely affronted.
"What do you mean you've never been trick or treating?" Because the answer was pretty obvious but Minato really did need to hear it just because he couldn't fathom his own son being deprived of the
potential future photographic humiliationchance at being silly and in costume and - well, he was probably going to regret anything that gave Naruto even MORE energy than he already usually had but he could hardly deny his son candy on Halloween of all nights.no subject
"Out of all the festival nights, this is the one where the police force needs to maintain the most vigilance. People act very strangely out on the streets tonight, Hokage-sama." he replied, all-too-adult again. "An Uchiha's duty tonight is to maintain order. It would be an embarrassment to the clan to participate in foolishness. Better to spend the time training indoors."
But one could easily tell that behind that answer, Itachi always wanted to go out like all the other children did. He really, really did.
no subject
"An embarrassment, hm?" He didn't let it into the mild question but - what kind of father used embarrassment as a tool to control his children? Minato didn't have any right to go casting aspersions on other father's parenting considering he was still learning himself but -
still, it seemed a shame Itachi had never been trick or treating before. It was something from childhood Minato remembered always having looked forward to himself.
If the truth was known, it might still be.
"What if the Hokage and his son needed an escort for the night?"
no subject
Itachi, though, was a shinobi, born and bred. Emotional control was everything.
"As an ANBU, I would be required to follow your orders, Hokage-sama." he replied. Once he confirmed those were, in fact, orders and that he wasn't simply reading too much into this, he asked the only other thing that came to mind. "...Can Sasuke come too? I mean... May I invite my little brother to shadow me on this mission?"
no subject
"Of course. It's important that he's a part of things like this. To help him develop." Setting Naruto temporarily on his feet, where his son wobbled awkwardly in his black bat suit that was intentionally round and as padded as a pumpkin for the most part, Minato tapped at his chin thoughtfully.
"It would probably be better to blend in tonight though. Infiltration. There's no sense alarming people with ANBU showing up on the streets." It was one of the very few costumes that was strongly frowned upon. If a crisis did arise, there should be no confusion about who was who in the split seconds that might matter. Minato looked thoughtful. "It would probably be better if you both came in costume. Do you have something because I've got plenty if not?"
no subject
"I don't have the appropriate gear for this mission." he revealed. "Neither will Sasuke."
But the Hokage said he had plenty of options, and Itachi knew that by the time he got Sasuke and brought him back, that there'd be at least a couple of choices each for them to choose from. Full mask, of course, lest they be spotted.
Needless to say, his return was preceded by an excited Sasuke shouting, "I get to go trick or treating like all the other kids?! And do it with Niisan?! This is the best day ever!!"
"Sasuke, when you're on an infiltration mission, you don't tell everyone about it..."
no subject
"Itachi. Sasuke," Minato greeted them both and shut the door after they were in, pleased deeply by the chance to take the children out on one of his favorite holidays. Wasn't it funny, how adults had to cloak things in words to hide what they really were and children knew anyway? He smiled at Sasuke though he made no move to get between the boy and his older brother, instead heading for the couch where he'd laid out his far too large collection of odds and ends that made up the many costumes he and Naruto had ended up in over the years.
"If you're going to do the mission right, you've got to have all the right equipment. So - tell me what you'd like to be and we'll see if we can make it happen." He suspected Sasuke would have a better idea than Itachi but he'd give them both a chance before he took matters into his own hands.
no subject
"I wanna be a dinosaur! Like Mister Roary!" He held up his hands to look like big dino teeth and stomped across the floor. "That's what I wanna be!"
Itachi, however, wasn't as sure. This was his chance to br ANYTHING, anything he ever wanted to be. It wasn't something he generally thought about. (After all, he'd been a shinobi since before he could remember.) But now that he had...
"Hokage-sama, I think I'd like to be... a baker! With a big white smock and hat." His face lit up as he imagined himself making sweet things, handing them to customers and watching them smile back. It was quite a departure from assassinations and covert operations. Then, suddenly, he realized something, and the smile disappeared. "But this is an infiltration mission. I have to hide my face..."
no subject
his eyebrows went up a little and his smile hooked a little at the edge, not a bad thing but -
a baker?
That... wasn't probably a popular outfit he'd guess among kids. Still - his smile softened and so did his face - he could imagine why it would have a great deal of appeal to someone like Itachi, whose destiny had been decided for him by his family from before his birth. That - might be a bit harder to put together but - watching the young ANBU's face fall it was one he was determined to see done.
"That's no problem. We'll get you something to go over your nose and chin. Sometimes I've seen bakers wear them when they're dealing with a lot of flour. If we need to, we can sprinkle some flour on the rest of your face too." He wasn't exactly sure how many people any costume was going to fool but this was halloween and Itachi had a real offical reason for being with him in costume. he'd make sure it went down in the books as a mission with appropriate pay. "Why don't you help Sasuke and Naruto go through what's on the couch to make a dinosaur and I'll see what I've got in the kitchen to help with the baker outfit?"
no subject
"Look, Sasuke! There's green boots over here! They look like they should fit."
"I found a dinosaur jacket!" He squealed, hugging it before throwing it right on over his normal clan attire. It was green as well, with yellow ridges going down the back. "It even has a hood!"
"Good! Because you'll have to keep the hood up, and your face covered. This is a mission after all." Itachi found a green mask with big dinosaur teeth painted on it.
"A Mister Roary mask!!"
Oh, was Sasuke's enthusiasm ever contagious... Itachi was having a hard time not getting completely swept up in it!
no subject
This was what being Hokage was really about. Making sure his people were safe to be happy. He found his own happiness in that and he hummed a quiet sound to himself about it as he collected the right props for Itachi's costume. He'd have to keep his eyes open tonight though. It seemed a silly holiday to insist on skipping but he wondered if it was becoming an Uchiha mindset or if it was just Fugaku at this point. Either way he'd talk to the man later when the setting wouldn't feel confrontational. The Uchiha were a part of the village and he didn't like the isolation they were so often wrapping themselves - or being wrapped - in. A few little steps might start to make all the difference.
Coming back out, he was pleased to see Sasuke almost entirely in costume and Itachi and Naruto apparently enjoying the process. He hadn't expected a problem. Naruto was generous to a ridiculous level with anything that might be considered his and Itachi - it was just good to see the young ANBU's face so happy.
"All right," he set his selection down on the coffee table for inspection. "I've got an apron, oven mitts, a mixing bowl that can double as a candy carrier, a wooden spoon and some dish clothes we can use as a mask and to cover your hair just like they do in bakeries. What else do we need?"

[Naruto had been dared by Kiba and the other guys to enter the supposedly haunted house. It was damaged during the night of his birth by Kurama's attack. No one knew who owned it, only that it was some important person. That fate of the person was unknown but was assumed to be dead. However, people see strange things or hear weird noises coming from the house.]
Why did I accept this dare? Stupid Kiba… I am not afraid of this house -ttebayo!
[Oh and Naruto had a fear of ghosts. Fun. Little that he know that he had an important connection to this house and its former owners.]
no subject
The night wind blew through broken tiles in the roof and stirred dust across the tops of old photo albums on shelves and a book on the kitchen counter. And, somewhere, down the dark hallway that led off into the rest of the house beyond the living room, there was the quiet and unmistakable pad of footsteps. Footsteps that seemed to come from much further away than the end of the hallway and that seemed to take much longer to walk it than the short space required, a steady beat that went on and on, drawing always closer with a steady, easy pace that didn't move a single shadow or show any actual form at all in the empty darkness of the hallway.]
no subject
The owner of this house must have liked your book, pervy sage.
[It was when Naruto heard the foot steps. Turning round to the hallway, he heard the sound get closer. Someone was trying to scare him. Most likely Kiba since it was his dare to begin with. However the feeling he had about being watched got stronger. He refused to think that it was the ghost of the owner. Not that he was scared of that. Nope, not at all.]
Ok, guys. Very funny. You can come out now. Guys?
no subject
Poor Naruto XD
Kai! [Nothing happened.] Kai ... No...
[It didn't work. That meant... that the being in the same room as him was ... the ghost of the owner. He was going to be haunted! Naruto heard stories about ghosts, how they drain people of their blood. Or was that vampires? That they possess people and make them do terrible things. Or was that demons? Ghosts had to have a weakness. Right? Was silver theirs or werewolves? Poor Naruto was too confused with fear.]
lol he does tend to end up in over his head often
That's new.
Re: True
Dad... [This was all he could say.]

and even ghostly his features relaxed and the smile was easy to see, something soft and warm and proud.
"Naruto," the same voice, a little less distant than moments ago. He turned to face his son completely but didn't approach. "It's good to see you." A pause and his head cocked, just a little. "What are you doing here?"

Some important person, hm? [One hand went to a hip and he looked around the old house, and if he saw the dust and misuse it didn't show on his face.] I suppose I could once count as an important person.
[He looked back at his son and the smile softened, touched the edge of sadness but didn't step across.] You don't know this place at all, do you, Naruto?
