The Support Group Meme!

Per Wikipedia:

In a support group, members provide each other with various types of help, usually nonprofessional and nonmaterial, for a particular shared, usually burdensome, characteristic. The help may take the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks. A support group may also work to inform the public or engage in advocacy.

○ Post with a character.

○ Unlike most memes, you'd probably be better off by providing a general theme for people to respond to. You know, have your subject or post read "People who got turned into animals in their respective games" or "Time travelers and keeping the space/time continuum intact."

○ Respond to other people and support them through their trials and tribulations.

NOTE: While you're welcome to post whatever the hell you want, if you delve into triggery whatnot (i.e. abuse, suicide, things which tend to actually evoke real life support groups and therapy) please label your posts with a nice and blatant warning so someone who was looking for Time Travelers Anonymous doesn't accidentally stumble into your suicide thread instead.

How'd you get yours?

The ghosts of three previous heroes visited me in a dream and gave me my Ranger Key and GokaiCellular.

[Sure it sounds strange but he just keeps smiling. Yep, completely serious.]

What about you?

So was it a destiny sort of thing or did you earn it?

[Are you kidding? Former heroes giving their blessing on the new one? THAT'S AWESOME!]

Me? I'm a NEXT. My abilities just... showed up one day. Heh, it was kinda the same thing as you - another Hero told me I should help people with my power and that was it!

[Then something else connects. His grin gets even bigger, if that's possible.]

Ranger Key? Hold on, like the Power Rangers?

[He just looks confused at that question though.]

I don't think I've ever heard of Power Rangers...

[Tiger considers, then shrugs. Maybe "Ranger" is a common word around here, who knows?]

Huh. Sorry, must be a different group. Good for you though!

A NEXT is someone with special powers. No one really knows why we get them - some people say genetics, some people say something in the environment. They're usually all pretty different! Mine is 100 Power, it increases my abilities times 100. Strength, speed, all that.

What about you? What powers did you get?

[Hero shop talk best talk!]

Wow! That's an amazing power!

[And then his power is being asked about so Gai smiles.]

I'll show you!

[He quickly plugs his Ranger Key into his Gokai Cellular, striking a little pose.]

Gokai Change!

[There's a flash of silver light as the Cellular emits a call:]

Gokaiger!

[And when that flash of light clears, Gai's in his Gokaiger form. He strikes a pose and grins behind his helmet.]

Haha! I can transform into Gokai Silver, the sixth member of the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

[That gets a thumbs up. Spandex and a dramatic pose? Now THIS is a kid who knows his roots!]

That's cool! What do you get besides the shiny outfit?

[~~Shiny outfit that SURE DOES look like the Power Rangers', but what does he know?~~]

I'm stronger and faster too. And I can do this!

[He presses something on his belt buckle and it spins around to reveal another Ranger Key which he promptly plugs into his Cellular.]

Gokai Change!

[Another flash of light, this one green.]

Shurikenger!

[This time when it clears, he's wearing green. He pulls a few quick martial arts moves and strikes another pose.]

And one more! Gokai Change!

[Another key, another flash.]

Dairanger!

[This one puts Gai in a white suit. He gives yet another pose.]

I can access all the powers of the past Super Sentai teams too.

[Tiger grins at the change to white.]

I like that one!

[Because y'know, TIGERS.]

That's really useful! Wish I could just summon my armor!

[There's another little flash and he's back to his silver form.]

You've got armor too?

((OOC: Sure, they could fight some monster. I'm enjoying it too.))

[And look at that, his sponsor's armor truck is right here! Tiger can't quick-change QUITE as fast as Gai, but it still doesn't take very long before he's back out in his hero suit. He flashes a thumbs up.

[It is hard to beat the speed of a Gokai Change. Gai waits patiently though. When Wild Tiger steps back into view though, Gai looks him over excitedly.]

Waah! That is so cool! It's like a super mode! Can you combine with other armors?

No, but my partner and I have Good Luck Mode! NO ONE can beat us in that!

[Of course they're only managed it a grand total of... 3 times? STILL! PERFECT RECORD!]

[Gai nods quickly.]

Does your partner have powers too? What are they like?

Bunny? He's got 100 Power, same as me. We're pretty sure it's the only case of identical NEXT powers. It's like a one-in-a-bajillion shot!

[VERY ACCURATE statistics here. It's obvious he's pretty proud of that fact.]

Oh wow, maybe you guys are linked. Like you were meant to be partners.

What, like Fate?

[He chuckles at that.]

You know, a year ago I would have said Fate had an awful sense of humor. We drove each other nuts! But now... well, I'm lucky he's my partner. Damn lucky. Even if I still want to throttle him sometimes.

You know how it is... er, maybe? You've got partners too, right?

[He nods quickly.]

Right! Like Fate!

Haha! Yeah, I have my crew. Joe, Don, Ahim, Luka, Marvelous, and Navi.

And you would take a flaming freak arrow for them -

[Yup, done that.]

Even if there's days you want to slap them?

[That too.]

Okay, maybe not slap them. You seem too cheerful a guy! But you get it - whether it's Fate or Luck, it's good to have them!

[Gai laughs, nodding.]

There are days when we don't all get along. And sometimes getting Joe, Luka, and Marvelous to go along with things is frustrating...but we're crew! They're my friends and we always get through it.
