h/c smut (or) bringing you out of the darkness — meme

hurt/comfort smut; a multi-character post Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. [So. It was over. Things were done. Everyone was happy, right? Well, most people, at least. Micchy had been told he needed to take some time for himself, given... what happened to Takatora, so he spent his time wandering, outside of Zawame City. No school, no dancing, just time with his own thoughts and his own guilt.]

[The town he'd stopped in was small, tiny by comparison to Zawame City. There wasn't much here, but he had been hungry and not eating wasn't going to help him any. He sat at a table near the train station, looking out at the people. How were they so happy? How did they know how to keep going? He'd finished half his sandwich, but he was just picking at the other half. Suddenly he didn't feel very hungry anymore.]

[Small as this town was, it was famous for its good eggs - meaning that Right stocked up on some delicious egg-based treats, including some egg sandwiches for Hikari. He was actually munching on an egg-n-cheese crepe when he spotted a familiar face sitting at a nearby table. Grinning from the memories from their time together at Zawame City, Right called out as he approached Micchy.]

Oi~! Long time no see, huh?

[grapeeater]

[It took a moment for him to place the face, but his eyes widened as it clicked. How long ago was it that they met? Not long ago overall, but it felt like years and years. He tried to force a smile, and he raised his hand, waving.]

It really has been, huh? How are things going? Are you still looking for your hometown?

[lunchleader]

Yeah, we're still looking for it, but at least we know which town it is now! [While Right did seem very happy about gaining those memories back, part of him was still upset that it's still swallowed up within the Shadow Line itself. But, no use in dwelling over that little detail...

Right plopped himself down across from Micchy, setting his bags to one side.] What about you? Are things okay now back at your hometown?

[grapeeater]

That's good. I'm glad.

[Surprisingly, he found that he was a little happy. Even with everything that happened... Right and his friends at least deserved to find their home.]

... Yeah. Everything's over. Kouta... and Mai... they're gone. To another world. Kaito's dead. My brother...

[His throat suddenly felt tight. He took a deep breath, trying to clear it.]

... He's in a coma. They don't think he'll recover. A lot of other people are dead, too.

[lunchleader]

Well, I'm glad...it's... [A dawning horror spread across Right's face. Kouta and Mai, he's not worried about. "To another world", after all, means that they're alive, they're okay, and they'll be back someday. Everyone else, though...]

Dead? Coma? Micchy, what happened?!

[grapeeater]

Those monsters you saw before... the Inves. They were just the beginning. The world they came from was trying to invade our world, and... people were fighting over the Golden Fruit. I just wanted to keep Mai alive, to preserve her happiness. I didn't care what happened to the rest of them. But I wasn't strong enough. I wasn't...

[He tries to pull himself back, to explain.]

This fruit... it allows the person who possesses it at the end to decide the fate of the world. To destroy the old world to create a new one. To determine what kind of rules would govern it. And Mai... Mai was the Woman of the Beginning - the fruit was put inside her. I was stupid. I thought maybe it could be extracted without hurting her. It couldn't. She... she turned into something not human. I still don't really know what she was.

And... and... Kouta and Kaito turned into monsters themselves. Overlords - the rules of the Inves. They could use the power of Helheim, that other world... I didn't see the fight. I was too busy mourning Mai.

[He hangs his head, trying to fight the tears that he keeps spilling over his own stupidity.]

... Takatora... he wanted to follow Kouta's plan. I thought there was no way it was going to work. I just wanted to save Mai, like I said. I didn't care about anyone else. But he... we fought. I thought I killed him, and let his body drift out to sea, but someone found him and brought him back to the hospital.

I don't know, Right. I was... selfish. Stupid. Misguided. A lot of people died because I didn't lift a finger to help them. I nearly - no, I might as well have killed my brother for the condition he's in now. I don't understand how anyone could ever forgive me for anything I've done.

[lunchleader]

[Right's heart broke as he heard Micchy explain everything that's happened since he and his friends left Zawame City. Mai...Kouta...Kaito...Micchy's brother...everyone there... Part of him wondered if his group should've stayed long enough to help prevent all of this.

But when Micchy basically stated that he couldn't be forgiven... Right shook his head.] No...just because you screwed up doesn't mean that anyone can't forgive you. I mean, you said that Mai and Kouta are in another world, right? That means that they're alive, and they can come back someday. Maybe you can talk to them then, and they could forgive you. I'm sure they would, since you guys are friends. And your brother... He'll wake up someday, and you two can maybe work things out then. And I'm sure he'll forgive you, too, since you're family.

I mean...yeah, you screwed up big, and it sounds awful all around...but that doesn't make you a bad person. It doesn't mean you're unforgivable. I forgive you.

[grapeeater]

I stabbed them in the back. I actually did try to shoot Kouta in the back. And Mai... I did so many terrible things to her that I don't know why she should ever want to even try to forgive me. And nii-san... even if he did wake up, I don't know if he'd know who I am. There was a lot of damage...

[He scrubbed at his face with his sleeve, trying to keep himself together.]

... Why? I don't understand. Even after hearing what I did...

[lunchleader]

Because they're your friends and family. And you're my friend, too. Friends and family forgive each other for the bad stuff we do sometimes. It make take a while - sometimes a very long time - but eventually, they're forgive you, once they understand that you really were trying to help Mai...that you were trying to be a good friend for her.

...though you really shouldn't have shot Kouta like that, to be honest. Or at all.

[grapeeater]

... I know. But I thought he was trying to take Mai away from me.

That's... not an excuse, I know.

[He wasn't really thinking logically at the time.]

[lunchleader]

I still think they'll forgive you, anyway. [Sorry, Micchy; you're talking to Mr. Happy Endings here.]

... The ones who are left, at least. There's... still a lot to be done. I decided to leave town for a little while to clear my head. I've never really traveled outside of Zawame City.

[lunchleader]

It's pretty fun to travel, right? Especially if you get to try each town's famous foods. You also get to meet new friends - and meet old ones, of course.

[grapeeater]

That's true. I'm off from school now while things get rebuilt, so I have some time to travel still. Where have you been traveling lately? Anywhere fun?
