super fluff meme! ...again.

SUPER FLUFF MEME

It's what you get when you combine the Affectionate Physical Contact Meme with the general Fluff meme. Since they're both basically related and are involved with one another, why not go ahead and throw them together for the ultimate fluff situation? Here's how it works:

  1. Post with your character with the character's name and series in the subject line.
  2. Others respond.
  3. Use RNG and enter 1-15 to pick a scenario.
  4. Then use RNG again and enter 1-9 to pick which physical contact to use next. "Roll" this as often as you want.
  5. Enjoy the fluff!

fluff scenario

1. Sick day. You're down with the flu or some injury. Whatever the reason, you're bedridden or at the hospital. Aren't you lucky that that special someone came to visit you?

2. Date night. You've made special plans to show that special someone just how much you love them and nothing can go wrong tonight.

3. Cheer up. One or both of you is feeling down and it's time to get out of that slump by either finding a way to distract yourself or talking it out with the other person.

4. Love confession. Your stomach is doing flip flops and your heart is racing, but you've read all the signs right, and it's time to let that other person know you feel the same way.

5. Special gift. Maybe it's the first time, or maybe this is the gift that really counts. Birthday, Christmas, or just a random present, you've been planning and saving up for this one and are hoping that special person will like it.

6. Last time (for awhile). One of you is going away for some reason (it can be as simple or angsty as you want it to be) and you may be back or you may not, but you want to spend the time you've got left where you are with someone special.

7. Pillow talk. You've just had fantastic sex (which playing out is optional!) and you're both content to lay back and enjoy a little bit of pillow talk or maybe go for round two as soon as you catch your breath!

8. Shared dessert. Whether it's because you're both cheap or you're one of those cute, lovey-dovey couples who love sharing desserts, the two of you are sharing that delicious ice cream sundae or cake with one another. Did some of it get on your partner's nose? Or maybe you want to go ahead and take a bite out of the cookie sticking out of their mouth.

9. Need a friend. You just want to hang out with the guys/girls and have a little fun.

10. I'm sorry. You had a fight with someone and now it's time to kiss and make up. . . or at least make up.

11. A moment at home. There's nothing better than enjoying a peaceful day without anything to worry about. Maybe you'll share a book with a friend, or just enjoy some tea and catch up.

12. Been so long. You're back after a long trip somewhere and now it's time to meet up with someone you've missed a lot and make up for lost time!

13. I'll defend you until the end. You're going to fight for that person and you're going to let them know it or show them, whichever comes first.

14. Pillow fight. You're both feeling the need to have some friendly horseplaying, and what better way than with pillows?

15. Wild card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!

physical contact

1. Hugging. You just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. Be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.

2. Kissing. Whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! Be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.

3. Holding hands. It's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. But that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. What the sentiment is is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.

4. Carrying. Is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? Do they want a piggyback ride? Or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? Whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination (maybe even the bedroom).

5. Dancing. Kick up the music, because it's time to dance! But no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! You can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. Personally, I recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!

6. Massaging. Did your significant other have a rough day? Did they get hurt? Or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? Whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. They'll feel wonderful in no time!

7. Tickling. Does that special someone feel a little tense? Maybe they've been frowning a little too much late? Or maybe you're just feeling a little devilish. Give them a tickle and see what happens!

8. Cuddling. Sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. Hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.

9. Wild Card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!

After winning the case, naturally no one knew the details as well as the lawyer, but there should be PR people handling this. Lindsey McDonald was a raising star in the firm who's hourly rates were worth more than a normal OL's weekly paycheck, it should be unimaginable for him to waste an afternoon here sipping espresso and waiting for a reporter to conduct an interview.

But his client was paying for it in billable hours and it made for good press for his client, so sighing, Lindsey rubbed the bridge of his nose and stared out of the 30th floor window of the little business cafe. At least he got to get out of the office for this, he was grateful for that.

PR people were never the best sources. Thomas knew better than to track them down. Their duty was to cover up, to keep the image of those they represented positive, and it was not a coverup that he had to find out. Nobody read an important magazine article about one of the biggest legal cases of the year to see everything's fine on the header.

There were plenty of other places he would rather be, mind, but if he wanted to wrap this up quickly then this was the only place to do so. Thirty floors up, and the elevator walls were about to close in on him when the doors had finally opened, and he could not get out of it sooner. Straight to the cafe first, not that a coffee would help his jitters but there were only so many addictions he could feed while indoors.

Once the paper cup was in his hand, folders and binders and notes in the other arm, he turned around to glance for his source. He did say to meet here.

Turning back around, Lindsey nearly spotted the rough looking reporter instantly. The man had a look about him that the lawyer identified with the press and the news chasers, just that air of restless energy that seemed to follow media people like an aura.

Smiling in wry bemusement, he lifted his prosthetic to catch the man's attention. Yes, let him see that the successful lawyer had this handicap and wasn't impeded by it. After all, he still made the youngest junior partner in the history of the largest law firm in the city, didn't he? He made a six figure salary and sat as co-vice president of an important department in the firm, all under the age of thirty.

When the reporter finally came around, Lindsey gave his winning courtroom expression, all smile but no mirth, and stood up. They were in a quiet corner of the cafe where two posh couches were practically hidden in their own cove, great for private meetings of all sorts. Lindsey had chosen the place for both its comfort and privacy.

"Mr. Lausson, I believe? Lindsey McDonald." He boldly offered his left hand for a shake.

Ah- there he was. It was a well known face in this city, especially in these circles. Thomas had done plenty of interviews and editing of articles in the courtroom scenes, and the name and image had come up more than once. Different, missing things of importance, younger than most. He would have been intriguing if Thomas could muster up the energy or effort to care.

But he was directed over, and so he followed, surprisingly not spilling a drop of his coffee despite his mess of papers and folders in his one arm. At least the coffee shop wasn't busy, and there weren't nearly as many sets of eyes to judge.

"Apparently," was Thomas' muttered reply as he paused, the gesture only a mild annoyance. After a pause, he was able to balance his papers carefully in the crook of his arm and slip his coffee cup into the same hand, leaving the other free for a weak and rushed hand shake.

"I'm sure you've conducted plenty interviews before," he continued, moving to sit on one of the couches and set the papers in his lap. "I will not keep you long."

Lindsey took in the messy reporter, his unkempt hair, the ragged outfit, the way his papers stuck out at odd angles under his arm, and it took all his effort to not sneer at the man. In his line of work, such unruly appearance would never be accepted, he would be thrown out of the courtroom for contempt of court before he opened his mouth.

"Fewer than you believe," Lindsey answered while waiting patiently for the other man to get himself in order. "Interviews are not generally in my job description." PR handled them, and if he was asked for an opinion, he gave either one line answers or none at all. Sometimes, once in a blue moon, he got them, like the time they reported his promotion as the youngest Junior Partner in the most successful firm for a legal magazine.

He sipped his expresso, the perfect image of the cultured lawyer on his coffee break.

"My schedule is free for the hour, will that be enough time for you?" And if it wasn't, he made it apparent that he would be leaving anyway but he can be scheduled for another time.

Comical, he supposed. A ragged mess of a reporter next to the neat and tidy, well pressed lawyer extraordinnaire. Thomas scoffed under his breath as he organized his notes in his lap, trying to find the paper he'd scribbled the necessary questions on. It had been one with an obscene little sketch in the top right corner--

Ah hah. With a sigh, he leaned back, free hand running through his hair before he reached for the coffee cup of his own. Not quite blended well enough, but it will suffice.

"I will hardly keep you that long," the man replied as he set the mug back down, fingertip tracing along his notes. The pen had started to die near the end, but he could still make out the engraved words written there.

"You need not worry about me taking you away from your only time off. I've only a few questions, and I will be on my way, whatever your answers may be."

Courtroom smile, the pokerface look that hid more than it displayed yet instilled confidence in the man wearing it, was turned onto the reporter on. "Please, don't be mistaken, this is not time off. This interview is being funded by Mr. Deligrove, who's case you wish to inquire about, I believe? Mr. Deligrove would like nothing more than to have the public read the truth."

Still the image of relaxed lawyer, Lindsey leaned back in his seat and waited for the first question to come. He didn't hurry the reporter along, but neither did he offer to help either. All he did was sip his coffee, and perhaps gave half a smirk when he saw the obscene doodle on the notes.

"Please, don't be hurried. I'm sure the last thing either of us want is for you to have to do this again."

"I wish to inquire about nothing," Thomas answered, blunt and to the point. His papers were more or less organized now, and he had a pen at the ready, a paper notepad with a coffee stain in the corner sitting atop the slightly less messy ... mess. "You are nothing more than an appointment I have to keep if I would like to have my rent paid on time. And as such, you need not bother with sugarcoating pleasantries."

Because every client told the truth. Every high paying politician in court was telling the truth. Everybody knows that.

After a sip of his coffee, barely a moment's of eye contact between them, he sets the tip of his pen to the paper.

"So tell me, mister McDonald. What is this truth your client would like published in a small circulation free press?"

That was.... strangely refreshing. The bluntness of the reporter's attitude surprised Lindsey for a second, but as it sank in, it brought out a genuine appreciating smile from the lawyer. It was waylaid by most of his smirk, but around such an honest man, he found he could relax a bit. There was no need to read double meanings or hidden facts when the man already made his displeasure known and open.

"The truth." Unfortunately, he still couldn't libel his own client no matter how unsavory he found the man. "He was as much a victim of this unfortunate accident as everyone else was. The reports on him have been entirely unfair and he would like this chance to clear his name with the literate public."

Lindsey's following smile was a picture perfect one that did not match the boredom in his eyes. He found more interest in this brazen reporter than talking about his client in the near corporate scandal.

"Tell me, mister Lausson," his lips quirked as he used the reporter's phrase back on him, "What would you publish if I stopped our 'interview' here?"

[personal profile] phrenesia 2012-05-16 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, how many times had he heard that story in interviews like these? Of course, reports were unfair. Of course, he would be the victim. Of course he wants to clear his name. Thomas had written enough articles like this to the point where he could recycle a previous copy and have everything come out the same, word for word. All it would take would be the changing of names and the case description. And a free press like the one he was currently contracted by rarely proofread older articles for simlilarities.

His expression gave away his unimpressed feelings towards it, a simple note jotted down on the paper, one he could draw the very same conclusions to over and over again. Another day, another dollar, he supposed.

Though his brow did quirk up in curiosity at the question offered to him. His look was almost one of disbelief, before mild irritation took over again and he sighed.

"Mister McDonald, I am paid very minimally per word per article," he explained dully as he reached for his coffee cup. He took a small sip before continuing.

"If our interview ends here, then I publish the two sentences of barely convincing information you have given me, and then I will go shopping for a cardboard box to live in."

Lindsey's expression was of mild amusement and showed he didn't believe a single word the reporter just said. Rather, he placed his own espresso carefully on the table, folded his hands on his knees and leaned back to regard the the lawyer with a bemused look.

"No," he supplied, confidence bleeding out of the single syllable knowing it wouldn't be contested. "You will go back to your writing desk, crank out a document with vague descriptors but as lengthy as the number of pages required to pay your bills. It will likely be as generic as the shirt you wear and sound no different from what you wrote a dozen times before, but you don't care." Lindsey was a successful lawyer, of course he did his homework before coming and knew exactly what type of articles Thomas Lausson wrote. "Do you, mister Lausson?"

There was something chilly about the detached way Lindsey smiled, but the spark of amusement that began this conversation continued to dance in his eyes. "So, go ahead, write that generic article I'm sure you are capable of. Then hand me the draft and I will provide the details you require. For every cent you get paid for the published article, I will match it so it won't appear so... minimal for your efforts."

Offer given, he unfolded his hands again so he may pick up his coffee once more. "Time is money, mister Lausson, you are welcome to earn some for saving both of ours from this charade."

[personal profile] phrenesia 2012-05-16 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Like an open book, he supposed.

It was exactly what he was going to do, minus the part about the desk. Everything was written on his laptop, and it depended on where he wanted to sit, whether it was on the floor or at the kitchen counter or wherever happened to be convenient. But generic it would be, copied from old articles, and no one would care because no one would read it. He was rarely hired by the big name circulations.

But that would be it. And the man was right. He didn't care.

The offer was out of the blue, however. Thomas looked up, hesitated, and then sighed softly as he scribbled a second note on his paper. Then he began to gather up his belongings, take one last sip from his coffee, and stood.

"I have everything I need, then," he said, pen tucked into his coat pocket. "Thank you for your time. It should be published within the week."
