Autumn Meme
THE AUTUMN MEME

It's that time of year again; Autumn.
Whether it's raking the leaves or running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte,
the season is back upon us and it's time to enjoy it before winter comes.
Scenarios:
Look at all the pretty colors - Maybe you just feel like strolling down the street and looking at all the leaves turning colors. Maybe you're shopping for something to fit in with the autumn theme. Or you could be setting up an easel to try to capture how the trees look like they're on fire. Just enjoy the turning shades.
I didn't agree to be in this movie -Yes, it's that time again, fog time. It can be creepy or beautiful or both and guess what? You're trapped in it. Are you alone? Are you at home looking out the windows, or stuck somewhere waiting for it to clear so you can drive? Maybe you're walking home late at night and the fog is as creepy as hell and was that the sound of someone sharpening an axe?
Something to warm the cockles - Coffee house prompt. You want your pumpkin spice latte and you want it now. Or maybe you want extra nutmeg. Or maybe someone made a pumpkin cheesecake and you want the line to move faster before someone gets the last piece. You're in a coffee house and there's coffee. Have fun with that.
I just raked that - Yes, it's lawncare time. You've been ordered to clean up your yard and make nice efficient piles. Or maybe you're strolling down the street and you happen to see a nice pile just begging you to jump in. Or push your friend. Or maybe someone's dog or cat is hiding in one and is ready to jump out and scare the crap out of you. Only one way to find out.
But it's only so many days until Halloween - Oh. You're one of those. The ones that love Halloween and start setting things up as soon as there's a slight briskness to the air. Well, time to go shopping. Or maybe you need to start setting up the decorations in the window. Or the yard. Or buying candy to appease the inevitable hordes. Halloween comes but once a year, so get ready for it while you can.
Wildcard - There are plenty of autumn activities to do. Make some up on your own, be it strolling with a friend or curling up with someone special and enjoying something sweet
Jeyne Westerling - ASOIAF - ota

Taking the initiative, he took a fask of the warm tea that had been made and went in search for Jeyne, whom he had a feeling was working well into this night. She seemed the kind that had a hard time finding a moment to herself to even sleep.
omg hey you!
"Good evening, your grace." She curtsied and respectfully lowered her eyes. "To what do I owe the honor of your company? Does your bandage need changed? Are you in pain?"
It's been a while!
"I had a feeling you'd still be awake, and thought maybe you'd appreciate this." He raised the flask and handed it to her, "It's not what the men drink, I promise." He realized she might've gotten the wrong impression of what he was bringing and for a moment tried not to dwell on the rumors that would spread.

She raised an eyebrow at the offered flask as she took it from him. "That is very kind of you, your grace." She unscrewed the top and took a whiff. The comforting smell of tea filled her nostrils and made her smile.
"Just what I needed." She took a careful sip, as the brew was still hot and she did not want to burn her tongue. "Would you like a report on your injured, your grace?" Still so formal. When she was alone she rolled his name around in her head. Robb. It was short but strong and fitted him perfectly.
no subject
"Go ahead." He commented, finding a spot to sit a moment, admiring how she moved about her nurse's station. When he was with her, he didn't want to think about anything.

"Two more died today. But I think they will be the last. The rest of the men I've treated are healing nicely. You should be able to march again in a few days." She turned away from him to pack up her things. She needed to carry her case back to the castle to restock it. And she did not want him to see how saddened she was at the idea of him leaving.

He's silent for a moment, before standing and moving alongside her, "Let me help carry your supplies." He knew she had to be just as tired as himself thanks to this war, and he didn't like the idea of her being burdened by such a thing.

His proximity takes her by surprise and she drops the vial in her hand. "Oh! Yes, yes of course. Thank you, your grace." Still having to address him properly in case anyone overheard. She missed their time alone together, sharing meals, laughing, sharing.
"Actually, I was hoping to take a walk down by the beach before turning in. There's nothing quite like the moonlight sparkling off the ocean. Would you join me?"
no subject
He too enjoyed their conversations, walks, and the ability to be himself around her. There was something that ignited his interest in her, that he didn't mind being in such a situation if she were around.
no subject
"Whatever the reason, your grace, I will be grateful for the company." She chose to leave her kit at the tent to leave herself free to walk comfortably. The path from the cliffs down to the beach was steep and rocky but she knew it like the back of her hand, having traversed it since she was a toddler. She walked slowly, though, to make sure that Robb was not having any trouble behind her.
After a few moments they reached the shore. The day had been calm, and the night was clear, leaving the sky open for a nearly full moon on the rise. The waves were small but substantial enough to create the crashing sound she found most comforting.
"Now that we have some privacy... how are you feeling, really? Not just your arm."
no subject
He stands beside her, watching the waves move upon shore in the black of night. It was really indeed soothing and a rare moment where he could actually stop and enjoy a moment for what it's worth rather than only take it for granted.
Coming back to reality, he looked over after her question, and it takes a moment before he replies, "Scared?" He swallows, realizing this is the most candid he's been in a long while, and offers a self-depreciating chuckle. "Sometimes I don't know what I'm fighting for anymore."
no subject
"You are fighting for your sisters, who cannot fight for themselves. You fight to regain your father's honor. You fight so that the people can have a king to whom they would be proud to pledge their allegiance." You are a good man, Robb Stark. The best I have ever known.
She moved a little further down the beach, where she knew there was a small cove in the rock and a place to sit on an old, fallen log. She wanted to hold his hand, to take him into her arms and soothe all of his fears away. She did neither. Instead she did what she had done for him before, and changed the subject to something that would take his mind off of his troubles.
"Have you ever been swimming in the ocean?"
no subject
Watching her walk down further, he follows and takes a seat next to her, again looking out to the ocean, "Maybe once as a small child." He couldn't really recall the days before Sansa was born, he was far too young then.
He looks to her, "I'm sure you have a plenty of memories of such." And it occurred to him that he didn't mind confiding to Jeyne, and that he trusted her far more than his men would recommend, but there was something about her he couldn't put his finger on. Her compassion and dedication was most admirable.
no subject
She nodded. "I have many. But my favorites involve night swimming." She was struck with an impulsive idea, much like the one that had led her to have the ailing King in the North moved into her own bedchamber. That had worked out so well that she was inclined to trust this new one.
She stood and slipped out of her shoes, then began to unlace her dress. "Let's go now. While you still have the chance, before you leave this place forever. Once you get past the breakers you can just float and stare up at the sky and count the stars." She had no trouble going out in her simple white shift. He'd seen her in it before.
no subject
There was a smile cracking his facade, a rarity indeed before he finally gave in and began stripping away his leathers and tunic. He was slower, given his injury, but made due and caught her gaze before jogging out into the water.
It was rare to hear Robb Stark laughing, and for once he felt freedom and enjoyment allowing the water to run over his feet and hit his shins.
no subject
Thanks to the sunny day and end of summer, the water was still warm enough to swim in, but was cool enough to be refreshing. Her shift swirled around her legs and she reached down to pull it up and wrap it around her waist, making it easier to swim.
"Look at you, you're a natural!" she called out to him, bobbing up and down, waiting for him to work his way past the breakers. The moonlight bounced off of his bare shoulders and chest. He wore naught but breeches and it took her breath away. She was a maid but that did not mean she didn't feel anything at the sight of the male body - especially one as well shaped as Robb's.
