Rin Matsuoka | Free! | Closed
A movie night sounded stupid, but Rin's busy itinerary had kept him from seeing any of his friends, so he begrudgingly looked forward to it.
It didn't occur to him that Nagisa would be scheming anything. Sure, he thought it was a bit strange that they'd invited Sousuke as well, but Rin didn't mind his old friend tagging along. Maybe this way he could get to know the other group better. The older boy always seemed to lack energy when the Iwatobi Club was around. Maybe he was shy.
Basically, Rin saw no way this could go awry. Provided they didn't get shoved in a closet again. That had been annoying at the time, and enough to keep him up at night afterwords. It pissed him off how he'd been reduced to laying in bed thinking about Haru, thinking about Sousuke. It was much worse for the later, since the boy was sleeping just above him.
He'd gotten into the habit of reciting his training regimen in his head over and over again until he drifted to sleep. There had been a few 'choice' dreams between the more than seven minutes incident, but otherwise his technique had worked.
Just like everyone else, Rin let himself into Haru's home with a casual knock at the door before stepping inside. Normally he'd have walked in with Sousuke, but he'd come from visiting Gou. He assumed that not many others had arrived, because the house was quiet.]
Yo.
no subject
[Finally Rin had gotten there. Not many others having arrived was a gross understatement. Even with getting lost on the way a time or two (something that would never be admitted to), it would seem he'd been the first to arrive.
And had to spend some quality time with Haru while they waited, redefining awkward silence by the second.
Conversation - if what they carried on was ever conversation - couldn't well be a thing, either, because someone else could (should. Would??) arrive at any moment. But they never did.
At least Rin was the most preferable of any potential saving grace, and it wasn't the little hellion that had organized the whole affair.]
Took you long enough.
no subject
Yeah, sure was awkward. Haru, thankfully, could distract himself with thoughts on his newest training regimen and what he'd wanted to work on. Unfortunately, the sheer power in Sousuke's presence was enough to remind him of.
The incident.
He found that he could not really meet the other's eyes. Rin, you goddamn angel.]
Did you see anyone else on the way?
no subject
He looked down at the tea with sudden interest, sitting quickly between his friends. Sousuke's accusation won him a grumpy glare before Rin turned to answer Haru's question.]
No.
[Nagisa and Rei could be caught up doing who knows what, but it was strange that Makoto wasn't there. He lived just down the road.]
Did Makoto say he couldn't come?
[Rin chewed his tongue for a moment before reaching forward and pouring himself some tea.]
no subject
Bless Rin and his arrival.]
Makoto hasn't said anything. We haven't heard from him.
[They hadn't heard from anyone. Haru's phone had been silent the whole time, and it was more than a little concerning, especially with who had organized the whole affair.]
no subject
[Makoto wouldn't ditch him - he's nothing if not reliable and dependable. They've known each other since they were kids. Makoto would never abandon him in his time of need, right?
Right.]
Have you eaten? I have groceries. Ah, and snacks?
[He has mackerel... and perhaps some of Rin's favorite snacks from when they were kids.]
no subject
Either way, they had no choice but to wait.
After what Nagisa did to the three of them, Rin doubted the other two would mind starting without him. They could make it up to Rei later.]
I'll get snacks. What do you want?
[He'd just sat down, but Rin was anxious to move. Something about the situation seemed...off. But it would be fine. Everything would be fine. Makoto would show up and they could get started. For now he'd just waste time getting Haru and Sosuke whatever from the kitchen. Hopefully when he returned there would be a smiling face in the living room.]
no subject
And Rin was right - waiting for the hellion himself was not on the top of the priority list.
But just as soon as Rin got there, he was already making his escape off into the kitchen. Bastard. So he stood up to go with him, since staying cooped up in a room alone with Haru didn't seem like an appealing option at all, now that Rin had arrived.]
I'll just look for myself.
no subject
[Haru gets up as well to follow them inside his kitchen and keep an eye on Sousuke. Logically, it's not as if Sousuke could do anything. He'd offered them food, after all.
But still.
What if they found his magazines.]
no subject
He decided on scissors.]
You too? [When Haru rose to follow them Rin raised an eyebrow. He didn't really see the point in everyone piling in the kitchen, but whatever. It wasn't his house, and apparently Haru had something to hide. Maybe he'd find some more magazines. If he did, it would be the same as before - taunting and keep away. Only this time he had a partner, so that would be a disaster.
Luckily, the redhead was peckish, so his focus was food over deviancy. Rin dug through Haru's cabinets like he lived there. When he found some of his favorite snacks, he pulled them from the shelf with a grin.]
Haru! Do you like these? I used to love them. [He still did. A hand-full of bags of the stuff and a soda later, Rin was on his way to return to the living room - oblivious as ever to the tension between his two friends.]
no subject
Or probable loss. Rin liked scissors. It was an educated guess.
Still, Rin gathered enough snacks for him to be able to pick at them, too (when he wasn't looking), so a soda for the occasion was retrieved, and Haru was once again abandoned in the room as Sousuke drifted along in Rin's snack-wake.
And there was no Mako. Or Nagisa. Or Rei. Or anyone else that could have been invited. So either everyone was late, or they'd been set up, and he was strongly betting on the latter.]
no subject
He sighs.
At least there's some comfort in Rin, even as Haru declines to answer him.
Instead of immediately returning to the living room, he puts on his apron and digs around for some ingredients. Mackerel didn't take too long to cook up, fortunately. After all, he made some for himself every morning before school, often earning himself Makoto's complaints in the process.
He actually doesn't like Rin's snacks, so he's making his own food.
In the meantime, he's sure the other two could pick a movie to watch. Haru really could not care any less. This was all Nagisa's idea, after all, and his home had been so generously volunteered for him.]
no subject
Rin heard the stove from the living room and shook his head. Makoto wasn't coming. He was entirely too late for just a simple sibling delay. The fact that he hadn't called or notified Haru of something more serious meant that he probably hadn't been notified at all. Nagisa was up to something - and probably not coming either. Which meant Rei was out. Rin silently cursed; he should have invited some Samezuka boys. That would have thwarted whatever Nagisa was aiming to do.
While Rin had reached the same conclusion as Sousuke, he didn't share in either friend's association of tonight with the time spent in the closet. Not yet. Rin was doing his best to avoid any awkwardness on that front.
Since none of their friends would be joining them, Haru cooking now only delayed the movie. Rin couldn't quite be annoyed. He simply opened his bag of snacks and shoved a handful in his mouth. He leaned back, peering at Haru in the kitchen before turning to Sousuke.]
Nagisa said he'd bring the movie.
no subject
Still, Sousuke couldn't say he especially minded the reprieve from Haru's presence, even if the cooking did delay the movie a bit. What it did was let the tension that had fallen over the house like a blanket dissipate just a bit.
So he could take his sweet time.]
Don't talk with your mouth full.
[Honestly. It was some contrived miracle of friendship that he could even understand Rin with a mouthful of snacks. Or something like that. Still, he nudged him in the side and stole one from the bag despite any swatting or protestations before continuing on.]
Well, Nagisa isn't coming. Check and see if he left one.
[If they even wanted to watch a movie sent by someone who had to have contrived the most awkward movie night possible. He doubted it would end well at all.]
no subject
He wasn't planning on being helpful or facilitating the movie night in any way beyond offering food and a place to watch. So y'all can figure that part out on your own. He's got a mackerel to eat.
And a Makoto to call again- to no avail. It was so strange for the other not to pick up. Haru is almost worried. Thankfully, he knows Makoto is fully capable of taking care of himself.]
lets get fucky
He ignored Sousuke's motherly scolding and took another bite.
Rin looked to Haru, who was making his final, desperate call to Makoto, with disdain. Hope had its place, to be sure, but this wasn't the moment for it. He felt a bit bad, but Rin was certain he could pull Haru out from hiding in his mackerel the whole time. There was no reason the three of them couldn't enjoy themselves.
He sighed. Apparently he needed to do everything. Rin looked around the room, quickly locating a disk sitting on the TV stand. He crawled forward to retrieve it with a glare to Sousuke and then his snacks. The handwriting on the front was unmistakably Nagisa's. 'Movie Night' decorated with flowery lettering and drawings.
It wasn't cute.]
I guess this is it? [Rin showed tilted the disk so each of the other boys in the room could see it. He then leaned forward again - a similar glance delivered over his snacks yet again - and pushed it into the DVD player.
There was no menu. There was no time.
After a few blips of fuzzy picture the movie came into full view.
Porn.
Rin's face turned red immediately. The men on screen - and there were only men - were rubbing and kissing and sucking and it had him absolutely petrified. If he'd had any snacks in his mouth at the time, they would have fallen out with how he was gaping.]
no subject
And so he scooted closer when Rin scooted away, just to keep him in the same range. It was a delicate balance, and one that shouldn't be upset, after all, because it really was easy enough to start enjoying himself if he made a conscious effort to forget about Haru's presence.]
Looks like it is.
[It was odd that the disc wasn't... actually a movie, or didn't seem to be at first glance, but he figured that Nagisa had just found some odd foreign film or other that he couldn't just buy and had to burn it. Who could really, honestly, deny that the kid seemed like he would have odd tastes?
The lack of a menu or options, in that case wasn't surprising.
What was surprising was what fuzzed to life on the screen.
Sousuke had a brief moment of thanks that he hadn't been drinking anything when the picture and sound came into focus, but that was short-lived as his face turned a red to rival Rin's and he dropped the handful of snacks he'd been in the process of stealing, all but frozen in place.]
no subject
Very weird moaning and cursing.
He looks up in confusion, eyes widening as he grasps the scene unfolding on his television screen.]
This is-
[Not the movie he was expecting in the slightest. The tips of his ears dust pink.]
Rin- this is going too far!
[What the- What was that man doing with his fingers? Why is he putting it there?
Why are they doing that sort of thing by the poolside?]
no subject
The boys in Australia had all gathered around a television in the middle of the night once. It was the first time for many of them, Rin included. The content wasn't anything special - a man and a woman with obscene angles and gross overacting. He'd turned beet red then too, but watched the whole thing through. He couldn't run away from any challenge.
Since then, Rin had caught a several awkward pop ups and ventured onto a few websites out of desperation. The results were always the same - it didn't effect him much.
This, however, was disturbing him to new levels. Maybe it was the company. Maybe it was the content. Three young men sticking their fingers in places he had never seen them go. The wet sucking and licking. The damned poolside. Everything about it was so new yet so familiar-
It was exciting.
Which is exactly what didn't need to happen.
Rin's eyes were locked on the TV. He didn't notice Sousuke. He didn't notice Haru either, until the boy called his name. Then Rin jumped, his face finally tearing from the screen to glare at Haru through dark red blush.]
This wasn't me! [He didn't even have the wits about him to be offended. Rin was completely frazzled.] It had to be Nagisa! You know-
[One of the boys in the movie moaned loudly, and Rin's wide-eyed attention was once again captured.]
no subject
More importantly, it was not a social activity.
And yet, there it was. On the screen. And Rin wasn't ecactly moving to turn it off.]
Rin.
[Hopefully he'd get the idea and stop gawking at it before things got more awkward than they had to.]
no subject
Just for water. Literally just for water. The hottest waterfalls and hot springs mmm give it to him, baby, let him carve an opening and slide on through.Haru searches for the remote and tries to turn off the TV - what the. It won't work? He presses the off button a few more times before checking the battery compartment.
That Nagisa sure is thorough.]
That's enough.
[He gets up, stomps over, and presses a button on the DVD player to eject the disc.]
no subject
This was awful. Rin was becoming more and more uncomfortable by the second. He bit his lip, eyes darting around the screen but never off of it. Why was this so mesmerizing?
It could be them.No!
The screen went black. It didn't save him. The active imagination that usually did Rin so well was running out of control now. He stared at the blank screen, then down at the ground - he was silent.]
no subject
C'mon, Rin, we should go.
[It didn't even occur to him that his friend was anything other than shocked at the video.]
no subject
That sure was a beautiful pool, though. It had underwater lights and he thinks he saw speakers to play music embedded in the walls. Finally, he turns to face Rin who looks. Affected, for lack of a better word.
And, perfect timing, he's reminded of their sweet kiss from a while back: Rin's hand in his hair, on his neck, the way their breaths tangled and twisted.
Damn it.
He doesn't say anything, just looks right at his friend.]
no subject
He thought of their kiss as well. He thought of how Haru's lips had felt on his, of how he could feel Haru's breath, and of how the boy's skin had felt under his hand. Rin had done his best to avoid thinking about it during his 'personal' time, but fantasies of a continuation had never been far from his mind.
It was there now. The feeling that Haru would let him. The desire for Haru to let him continue. Let him press every bit of passion that he'd held back into the exchange.
Rin moved, but not in the direction Sousuke wanted. He closed the distance between himself and Haru quickly. His hand found its way to where it had been, gripping his friend's neck with more confidence (eagerness? desperation?) than before.
Their kiss was rough. Rin immediately opened his mouth to suck Haru's lip. For a moment he was lost in it.
Sousuke. He wanted the other boy too. He'd been in Rin's thoughts just as much as Haru and the redhead felt a certain lack, felt cold without him.
But the taller boy was leaving.]
Stay. [Rin disconnected from Haru, but didn't move away. He was looking to Sousuke now, his face certain. Rin's cheeks were still flushed with pink, but he knew what he wanted in that moment - both of them.]
