( under the night sky )

STARGAZING - whether you're on a picnic blanket in a field, laying on the beach, or in the bed of a truck, you're with someone you care about and you're looking at the stars.
CAMPFIRE - camping is the most fun when you're with someone else. roasting marshmallows, telling stories. nature's got it goin' on.
PARKING - you're at the lover's lane, parked at the peak overlooking the city, it's just you and someone else in the car. maybe it's time to steam up the glass or hey, you guys can just talk if you want.
FIREWORKS - maybe it is the fourth of july, the new year, or just because, but there's fireworks shooting off and they're magical. or scary. it depends on what floats your boat.
LATE NIGHT SWIM - maybe you're at the beach or in the backyard pool or at the lake, maybe you're going to skinny dip or maybe you'll 'fall' in with all your clothes. either way, swimming at night is pretty much always fun.
SKY LANTERNS - perhaps you've lost someone dear and you want to do something to remember them by, maybe you're making a wish for the future.
Faramir | Tolkien | OTA
the au where Beleg survives everything.
He was content to let the campfire die down to almost nothing as he laid back to see the stars.]
whoo hoo~
He comes up on foot, leading his horse, all the same, on the off chance that this is a bandit company or something else, and is pleasantly surprised at what he sees. One of the Eldar! Not one of Legolas' folk, by the dress, but that certain gleam. He hails the stranger, thinking sheepishly that he probably was noted a mile out, despite his stealth ]
Ho, good my lord, mind you company this night?
he's still sad over Turin though.
Hail and well met this fair night. And no...I do not mind company.
...sob
My thanks, my lord. What brings you to these lands, if you mind not my asking?
i know, right?
Word has reached the north of the beauty of these lands. As I am currently free of my duties for a time and it has been many long years since I have been this far south I wished to see it for myself.
Oh Beleg
Ah, then I bid you good welcome, my lord! You have come at a good time - the spring weather has been good to us and the wildflowers are all a-blossom, and the hunting will be good. Are you only passing through, or do you plan to stay a while?
never going to be over Turin
He smiles at the way Faramir lights up at the praise of the land they are currently in.]
I thank you for your welcome. I will stay awhile I think, with the permission of the Lords of this land, until I am called back North.
Come, there is no need for titles, I will have you use my name. Beleg Cuthalion I am called, am but a simple marchwarden.
sobs quietly
Your pardon but... the Beleg Cuthalion? My lord you are hardly a simple marchwarden! You honor me with your presence here, to think that one of your standing would come to this little corner of Middle-earth is a wonder to me indeed.
I am Faramir of Ithilien, and you are welcome here, for as long as you will it - and I am sure Lord Legolas will say the same.
T_T
A simple marchwarden I was and still am, so there is no need of titles between us, especially as we are away from the formal courts of our peoples. Again, I thank you for your welcome and your permission to wander in this fair land, Prince Faramir. Prince Legolas has already said the same when I went earlier to bring him greetings and messages from his kin in the Greenwood.
/pets him
I will remember if you do not use mine either! [ A shy smile ] But it is a wonder to me, to meet one of the heroes from the old tales - tis one of the greatest sorrows of my life, to know the Eldar are leaving this shore, and taking their stories with them.
no subject
Not all are leaving, at least not yet. [Beleg has never felt the sea longing himself; he doesn't know if he can ever leave for Valinor.]
And it is time for new tales to be told, of a new Age that has come.
no subject
[ Faramir shrugs a little shyly ] I know my Lord King feels the same - I am building a library, as best I may - hopefully at least to try and preserve some of the tales against the time when the last of the Eldar sail - I hope not in my lifetime, however!
no subject
[Beleg smiles and tilts his head back upwards to see the stars again.] No, not all tales should be forgotten. I would be glad to see the library of yours when it is finished.
[While it was true he loves the deep woods and free-flowing streams but libraries with the smell of old and new books were wonderful in its own way.]
no subject
You would be welcome in Ithilien's halls, to visit the library or to break fast with my lady and me at any time. All I ask in return is a tale or two, perhaps, to add to my store!
no subject
A tale or two seem like poor recompense for such hospitality and welcome.
no subject
To hear that is praise indeed, although I think the majority of the work has been due to Lord Legolas and his people.
And a good tale is worth more than jewels I think - for the richness it brings to the soul. How much more that of one who lived the very tales he tells?

[Beleg's gaze turns from the sky back to where the fire burns low.]
How can I refuse one who speak with such eloquence? Tales I will be glad to share with you, tales of both sorry and joy.
Turin. Doriath. War.no subject
I have heard it said that the best tales are those where sorrow mingles with joy.

[Beleg thought of Turin, of the curse Morgoth placed on him, of what Turin did in his too-short life.]
You are not wrong, no.
no subject
At the least, I hope to wipe out the memory of our wrongs, so that folk remember them as they were and not as they became.
no subject
[He's never seen a Man blush that much. Not even Turin.]
By all accounts, they were valiant.
no subject
I wish they were still alive to see such gladsome days, but at the least I can ensure that they rest peacefully, secure in the knowledge that Gondor flourishes again.

Now that the shadow has passed, all of Arda will flourish, or finally have the chance to.
