CAUGHT IN THE RAIN MEME

It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm with an endless downpour. Time to quickly find cover! Nothing much to do but to wait it out. Where is the rain happening? SCENARIOS i WHERE: 001 PLAYGROUND | Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun? 002 PARK | Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you. 003 STORE FRONT | Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of. 004 BEACH | Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm. 005 FOREST | Mud, bugs and all the rambler's paths are washed away so you don't know how to get out. 006 SKY | On a plane? A pegasus? You were there when the first drop fell. 007 EMPTY CITY | Maybe it was a zombie apocalypse or WW3. It's safer outside when all the nasties take refuge indoors. 008 AT SEA | Nothing is worse than an unexpected freak storm here. Except sea monsters. 009 TEMPLE | It's beautiful, but leaky. 010 WILD CARD | Your call. ii HOW: 001 TREE | Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet. 002 UMBRELLA | Most conventional... [ he sees her as he's making his way back to the dorm, collar tucked high around his chin and hat yanked down low over his eyes to deflect the worst of the rain. she doesn't have an umbrella - of course - and the weather isn't near warm enough to excuse her traipsing about in the rain without one.

sighing, he makes his way to her, unbuttoning his coat and sliding it off his shoulders so he can unceremoniously drop it over her head. ]

Don't get sick again.

[ says the guy in nothing but a turtleneck sweater. but hey, he's still got his hat at least. ]

[In her defense, there weren't any mentions of rain in the weather forecast. But she's sure wishing she had an umbrella now as she makes her way through the park, at least until she feels something falling on her head and hears a familiar voice.

Turning around, she frowns a little at what she sees.]

Hey, don't say that if you're not taking your own advice.

[Raising the coat with her arms, she tries to put half of it over his head, which is a bit of a difficult task with the difference in their heights.]

Help me a bit with this, okay?

[ his poor coat was not built with two people in mind, warm and comfortable as it is. there's some grumbling as he attempts to shove her arm away, mostly unsuccessfully. he put that coat on her for a reason, goddammit. don't undermine him, minako. ]

Keep it on. You need it more than I do.

[ it's a lie, a huge one, and already being undermined by the slight shivers racing up his body. fuck the rain, he really does hate it. ]

[It's not undermining, though. She just cares about him, especially with how visibly he's shivering. She frowns a bit when he tries to shove her arm away, pushing against him.]

I'm not going to let you walk under the rain.

[She's not giving up!]

[ minako's determination's the most frustrating thing about her, and the most endearing. he battles against her for a minute but she wins out, and he settles against her underneath the coat, his grumbling louder now. ]

Maybe you should've brought an umbrella then.

[ or looked at the weather!! because this is clearly all her fault. ]

I didn't think it was necessary. You don't have one, either.

[But whatever, they better get going. This rain doesn't look like it's stopping any time soon, and it would be really nice if none of them got sick, so she starts walking once again while carefully holding the coat over their heads.]

[ oh no she doesn't. they make it about three steps before there's another set of arms taking over and holding the coat aloft over her head while wrapping it around his outer shoulder. there's enough of a height difference between them for it to work, albeit awkwardly. ]

What were you doin' out so late?

[ except that it's not even that late, only six in the evening. ]

[That works too. Anything does, as long as he doesn't have the opportunity to ignore his own health. She doesn't care if that's what he's used to; things are different now.]

Late? Seriously? ...I was hanging out with a friend. What about you?

[ .....of course. he's not sure why he even asked in the first place. minako's loveable, popular, a welcome ray of sunshine in anyone's life. of course she'd have friends that'd want to hang out all the time.

he admires it, envies it a little.

his own reply is a little less forthcoming but casual all the same. ]

Getting some fresh air. It was getting too loud in the dorm.

[ read: akihiko was being all naggy again. ]

[She chuckles a bit at that, filling the blanks he leaves with the things she has observed.]

Did they ask you to cook again? Or was it Akihiko-senpai?

[Because if it's the first one, she can kinda sympathize with the others.]

[ he rolls his eyes underneath his coat as he walks, a little huff of exasperation escaping his lips. all the sudden attention leaves him uneasy and discomfited, and it's all too easy to just run away and escape from the dorm for hours on end.

it might be a little unhealthy but it works for him. ]

Aki. Guy doesn't know how to leave well enough alone. [ another huff. ] But he's always been that way, so I shouldn't be surprised.
