Exploration Meme

Let's face it: We all have the urge to do a little exploration every now and then, right? Of course, in real life, we often don't have the option of going anywhere really interesting. Thank God for RP, right?
Okay, so standard set of rules:
1. Post your character/canon. Feel free to pre-set up your scenario if you want, or let someone else RNG it for you.
2. Respond to other posts. Roll two RNG rolls, one for the setting, one for the scenario. (Or don't, that's fine too.)
3. Get exploring! Who knows where you'll end up?
4. Oh, right, have fun. That's kind of an important one.
SETTINGS:
1. Abandoned Mansion: You know, the one at the edge of town, the one with all the creepy rumors? Yeah, there's no way THIS one can go wrong.
2. Factory: Nothing like a little urban exploration to get that blood pumping.
3. School: Seven mysteries of the school, sealed off portion of the building, piano heard playing in the middle of the night, yada yada yada. You know how that works.
4. A Forest: ...or are you just LOST? Go on, admit it. We won't tell anybody.
5. Military Base: We only hope it's an ABANDONED base, or else you have some 'splainin' to do.
6. A Cave: Let's go spelunking! Maybe there'll be a minecart scene.
7. An Ancient Ruin: With ancient secrets, and ancient traps, and ancient animal droppings. Ew.
8. A Dungeon: Not the whips and chains kind. Your standard RPG generi-dungeon. ...okay, we suppose whips and chains can feature if you WANT.
9. Office Building: Hopefully not the kind with those sentient elevators or something. And with fire escapes.
10. Shipwreck: Hope you brought your scuba-diving equipment! If you're in the first three slots of the party lineup, you WILL get wet.
11. Labyrinth: Follow the left wall. No, seriously. It works.
12. Wild Card: Pick one of the above, or make up your own not listed here.
SCENARIO:
1. Rumors: You hear there's a monster or a ghost of some sort hanging around there. But that can't be true, right?
2. You've Been Invited: Either from someone you know or a mysterious stranger, someone has invited you to this strange location. But what could they want?
3. Car Broke Down: Maybe somebody lives over there, honey! ...hahahaha.
4. Hunter/Hunted: Something's been following you. Maybe you can lose them in this place somewhere. Or maybe the danger's actually just gotten worse.
5. It's a Secret to Everybody: You figure you can make a hangout here. Or maybe you and a special someone want somewhere exciting and private to do your thang. Who knows.
6. Where am I?: You just woke up here. You don't remember how you got here. And you have no idea how to get out. Guess you'd better find out.
7. A Prank: Those jerks thought it'd be real funny if they locked you in this place, or ditched you, or whatever. Let's see how much they'll be laughing when you're DEAD. ...or let's not, shall we?
8. Drawn to this Place: You're not sure why, but you're suddenly finding yourself attracted to this place. Something here is calling to you...
9. Treasure!: You hear there's a fantastic treasure somewhere in this place! If you find it, you'll be rich! ...IF.
10. Surveying: You need to check this place out for whatever reason. Research? Surveying? Mapping? Who knows, but it's a perfectly legitimate reason.
11. Someone to Find: Someone you know is supposed to have come here, but they haven't come back yet. Surely they're still alive somewhere in here, but there's only one way to find out.
12. Adventure Time: Who needs a reason when you got an adventure? #yolo

She was simply lost. Again.]
Hm?
[Oh, a person! With him spotted, she waves her arms about enthusiastically, trying to gain his attention, as she runs up to Andy, footsteps echoing throughout the hallway.]

He was used to being pranked by the members of PANDRA, especially this kind of prank - of being transported to some unknown location (deserted island, middle of a jungle, the desert, etc) and abandoned there for an extended period of time until he either clawed his way back to The Catastrophe. Or Hyobu would appear to (mock him) give him directions back home, and, if he was generous, actually bring him to within a mile of the ship's location.
Today's place of choice was a factory, an abandoned one by the looks of it, and Andy had been getting lost in its winding, twisting catwalks for the better part of the hour. No sign of PANDRA yet... they're running a bit late...
It was when he was deciding to try finding the exit and maybe explore the building's surroundings that he heard the footsteps - rapid ones - and he flinched despite himself, turning to see-
A blue-clad woman running full pelt towards him, waving her arms about like an Albatross attempting to take flight.
What the-]
-fuck...?
no subject
Have I startled you? Please, forgive me. I was only excited about the prospect of meeting another here.

[But Andy relaxed. The book looked quite strange, but from a quick yet scrutinising glance over, she didn't seem to be sporting an obvious weapon. He lifted his hand up against his chest, though, brushing his fingers over his Limiter so it was close to hand if needed.
No obvious weapon, unknown if she possessed ESP, currently exhibiting a cheer, non-hostile attitude. Hmmm...maybe she was one of those people who chased after urban legends and got lost...?]
Did you get lost in here?
no subject
[Chasing after a soul sealed away, perhaps.]
no subject
Er, you aren't worried about that, at all? What were you doing in here, anyway? Chasing after a ghost, or something?
no subject
[Was it enough to say that she was simply lost on her journey to find that person? "Ghost" wasn't exactly wrong.]
...You could say that. I am chasing after a soul, after all.
no subject
I see. [He didn't. Was his earlier assumption correct about her being an urban legend chaser, then? Did it really matter? He had a feeling he didn't want to get involved in this] Well, uh, I don't suppose you saw the exit during your ghost chasing, did you?
no subject
[...Liz, why do you think he's asking?]
no subject
[But now Andy had a dilemma. He didn't think of himself as a knight in shining armour, but, he wasn't the type of person to just ditch a lost woman in the middle of a labyrinthine factory either. She didn't seem concerned about her situation, but - well, he'd feel a lot better knowing where she was while he tried to find the exit. Having a stranger wandering about in the same building as him, while ignorant of their exact location, was unnerving.
The only problem was PANDRA - if they turned up while he was escorting this, uh, young lady (was she young? Her hair was as white as Hyobu's, old man that he was), he'd never hear the end of it. Especially if she turned out to be a normal, Hyobu would be insufferable.]
Well, I'm on my way to find it now. If you want to come along...
no subject
[Well, it's better to explore with another than alone, and the entire point of her journey is to bond with others...
...although if they become too frustrated, she could just as easily make an exit, property damage be damned. She's far from a "normal", in every sense of the word.]
Then I, Elizabeth, shall accept!
[Just...don't be surprised when things blow up soon, Andy.]
no subject
Right, good. [Andy took it in stride - truth be told, this wasn't the weirdest person he had met (The Catastrophe was like a zoo of the world's weirdoes, after all), and her cheery attitude was actually quite refreshing. Infectious, almost.] I was heading down this way before you stopped me. With any luck, it should lead us to the main body of the factory - the exit should be easy to find from there.
[If his knowledge of factories - which was basic at best - served him well. Thus far he'd been wandering about in the catwalks and back corridors of this massive building - so this had to lead to the main production area. It was the only place he hadn't been to yet]
no subject
Since I have disclosed my reasons for being here, what about yours? Are you also seeking to fulfill a desire of your own, in this very building?
[...]
...Or could it be that you are an aficionado of exploration, and you simply could not resist the call of charting these depths?
[It's only a factory...although given that one of her most cherished memories is visiting a simple school (that turns into Tartarus during the Dark Hour but shhhh), it shouldn't be surprising.]
no subject
[Well, 'friends' - it was complicated - but he was not going to get into the confusing and dangerous details of his relationship with criminal terrorists with a complete stranger. Until his mission's over, or he thinks of a better word - "assholes", maybe, yeah, 'some assholes dumped me here' sounded better - they were 'friends' until further notice]
Ahhh, it's beginning to get a little old now. You'd think they'd create a better game to play with the newbie by now.
no subject
[One of the hardest parts of bonds is forming them in the first place.]
But if they take the time to play with you, then it means they are fond of you, correct?
[Like her and her torment of her little brother.]
no subject
[Perhaps they were - there was some grudging, burgeoning fondness on Andy's side regarding PANDRA in any case, and if it was mutual, well, it would make things both easy and difficult. It was a complicated yarn ball that he didn't want to touch just yet - not until he... he had to.
Anyway, this topic was getting a little too uncomfortable for his liking - Andy quickly switched tracks]
So what's this 'soul' you mentioned earlier?
[Hey, he was a little curious about it...]
no subject
There is a soul that no longer resides in this world...and I wish to save it from its fate, however long it may take.
[Although from an outsider's perspective, it might seem like she's talking about trying to see a dead loved one, or something...which isn't entirely untrue.]
no subject
When you say 'no longer resides in this world', do you mean that they're, well, [There was no tactful way to say it so he may as well just blurt it] dead?
no subject
They are simply slumbering at the ends of the world.
[Sealing away Erebus, more like, but again, complete stranger doesn't need to know that, and she's good at being vague when she wants to. The thought doesn't seem to sadden her any, if her demeanor and brisk footsteps are any indication.]
no subject
Okaaaaaay that didn't- that didn't answer his question at all. A soul that no longer resided on earth, and was sleeping at the end of the world? What did that even mean? And how on earth would that translate into searching for said soul in a factory? Nothing unearthly about it from his perspective!]
Right... I'll pretend I understand all that. [pause] But if they're at the 'ends of the world', why are you in an abandoned factory?
[She said she got lost but...]
no subject
[probably from a teleporation circle mishap or something (which I don't even know if it can happen but for the sake of memes it can.)]
In any case, all you need to know is that I may have taken a wrong turn or two or twelve. The rest are only trifling details.
[All said with complete and utter confidence.]
no subject
...
Wait.]
By 'wrong turn'... [This woman's an esper isn't she? She is. She so is, she has to be for Andy to make sense of this] Do you mean a literal physical turn or the- the teleportation kind of wrong turn?
no subject
[So she could probably really easily get out by either blasting a wall and causing property damage, attracting a lot of attention, or by teleporting. But hey, making bonds is what she's here for.]
no subject
Ahhh... [Yes, that was a bit of a sigh. Andy just cannot escape them it seems - still, it begged the question as to why she didn't simply teleport out of this building if she was lost. His limiter was on, so she should be able - unless he could still interfere this close even now?] You're kidding me...
