I saw you in a dream
I SAW YOU IN MY DREAM...

Anything can happen in a dream. You could meet someone, fall in love, live a whole life with them. And in the morning when you wake, only fragments of that life remain.
But what if you met that person on the street when you were awake?
What if they remembered you, too?
What would you do?
PROMPTS (Gen or shippy, anything can happen in a dream):
INSIDE THE DREAM:
- You're lost and they give you directions, or better yet, help you get to your destination.
- Something is chasing you. Something with big nasty teeth. Your someone rescues you from impending doom.
- You're back in school, and they're your date to the dance.
- Your car has broken down and they stop to help.
- Your plan to overthrow the world was thwarted, and they're responsible.
- You're arguing passionately over something, and they're on the other side.
- Your whole world has burned down and you're picking up the pieces. They're the only thing worth keeping up the fight for. They're the reason you're still alive.
- You're fighting for your life, and they're your ally. Or your enemy.
- Pick your own!
IN THE REAL WORLD:
- You meet them in line at your coffeehouse.
- You go to work/school and they're the new person in town.
- You meet them travelling or commuting.
- You just got arrested and you're sitting in jail next to? You guessed it.
- You're in the middle of saving the world, only hey -- don't I know you from somewhere?
- Pick your own!
HOW TO PLAY:
- Tag in with your pup.
- Specify preferences (Gen, */*, no smut, no shipping, etc.)
- Leave your comment BLANK if you want to be in someone else's dream.
- Comment with your dream if you want a specific scenario.
- Communicate with your tagging partner about where you two met in real life.
- Profit and/or shenanigans!

Placeholder! If you don't mind this guy here, I do believe I have something in mind...

Thank you, thank you. ^.^ - Starting with Scenario #4: car breakdown.
[His beloved vessel is now a complete wreck. And he's not exactly up to starwalking in his present state; indeed, he owes his current predicament to his reality-warp picking the wrong time to near-completely flare out. At least he'd held on to enough power to put the fires out...]
[He's no mechanic, though. This lump of machinery's probably gonna stay here for a bit until he figures out what to do, and that's assuming there are no run-ins with the natives.]
[... Looks like a nice little place, though. Fresh air, blue sky, green grass and trees...hell, we've even got a lovely little river runnin' nearby. A good start, right?]
Okay!
Curious, the princess approaches. Up close she can see this is some sort of vehicle, but nothing like she's ever seen during her waking hours. Zelda only spares it a few glances before turning to the person nearby.]
What happened here?

Well...in truth, "lump" was possibly not the best choice of words. It's really a charred and twisted wreck, but y'know - details. Ultimately, it's been the victim of some rough treatment and isn't going anywhere soon.][There'd been a residual feeling through the dream-wall itself -- a dream, of course, that he was not yet aware of -- that someone was either nearby or approaching; through that feeling alone, he'd managed to keep himself from being too badly startled. Certainly, enough that there was no outward reaction and he barely felt surprised at all.]
[...That would be the native, he supposed. This's got to be one of the more low-tech worlds, then. ...Well, but then again, that's not confirmed either, but - seems a safe bet. The lady's attire certainly sent suggestions that way. Probably a queen or a princess or something; hell, could be a regional governor or somewhere in there. Definitely someone important, and...yeah, taking in the aesthetic some more, he's getting ready to place his bet on "princess." Could be queen, but queens were usually older.]
[He glances back to the wreckage - not that it's easy to see under that plastic mask - and scratches his head, as if in embarrassment.]
...Had m'self a nasty crash. [True enough, if a bit concise. He gets the feeling he'll need to do more talking than that, though...]

What is your name?
[That's the most important piece of information to learn. The precise identity of the broken down vehicle is less important, because it could be a symbol rather than an actual thing in existence somewhere. Then again, if it actually does exist, she'd be very intrigued to learn more.]

Livingston. Saul Livingston. 'S a pleasure, [he adds, tipping an imaginary hat.]

[She's never heard anything like it. Maybe this is another prophecy.]
I am Princess Zelda. Do you know where you are?
[She eyes that wreckage again, assuming he probably does not.]

Totally won the bet on her being a princess, but that didn't mean anything - the attire kind of gives it away.]Can't say I do. It looks like a lotta places I know, but for all a man's thinkin' it's none of them. Sure ain't seen you before. [Not as far as he remembers, for as much as that means in light of what he's seen. There's a reasonable chance they know each other from some place, at least as much of one as their having never met in their lives - but regardless of whether or not there's anything to that idea, investigating it's not priority one right now.]
...While we're on that, there. Seein' as how you're a princess an' all...I feel I gotta tell ya, m'manners ain't the best in show. So if'm talkin' to ya all improper... [He makes an attempt at a standing bow, but it probably looks a touch ridiculous.]
Don't mean nothin' bad by it.

[She's debating whether or not to reveal that this is a dream. Ultimately, Zelda chooses not to say anything about it. If this is a prophecy, the best thing to do is let the events play out naturally, rather than to try and unduly influence them by explaining the situation to her dream partner.
She does smile at his words, however, and his stilted, awkward bow.]
There is no need for formalities right now. Why don't you follow me inside the town walls? It's dangerous out here at night.
no subject
Nighttime's comin', isn't it? [He asks this like it's something he should've realized earlier. Sure enough, when he looks at the sky-once-blue, he notices the violets and ambers associated with the sunset.] Yeah...lotsa places ain't safer at night. If yer alright with lettin' me into yer town, I'd be glad t'take ya up on it. Place to sleep that ain't fulla critters an' bugs's welcome sight in my eyes.
[...and then a thought occurs to him. He indicates, with perhaps a touch of awkward sheepishness, the slagged vehicle not far from where they stand. It's lucky enough that the crash site isn't more damaged than it is; his vessel might be maimed beyond repair until his powers return.]
Might not wanna let anyone near that, though, if you can get the word out. Can't promise it's not still dangerous.
no subject
Of course. We treat strangers well here.
[She gestures for Saul to follow her over the drawbridge into Hyrule Castle Town. As night approaches, the normally bustling town is emptying with only some stragglers and night hawkers around.]
Oh, don't worry about that. I'll have my guards take care of it for now.
Apologies for the wait. The work week leaves one drained. :'D
]More relevant to the point, less professional curious types didn't need to be going near that wreckage in any case. Worst case scenario, he'll find a way out. Or carve one, ugly a that might sound...]
[He doubted it'd come to that. There was somethin' about this young lady...gave him a good feeling. And this particular feeling was usually right.
The fact that she was pleasant to look at might've helped, but then princesses in this type of world usually were. Exceptions did exist, but in general, "princess" usually gave you a beauty.][Goin' on into town...nice, peaceful place, even at night. Some locals doing their business, but that just meant the place was alive. Hopefully the mask wouldn't set them too much on edge; he wasn't about to take it off, wiser move or not. Too important.]
...Beggin' yer pardon, Princess, but ya'll got an inn or somewhere you want me to stay at? Might be a problem, 'cause it ain't likely I'm carryin' yer country's coinage.
