the hurt/comfort meme

Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/comfort is a fan fiction genre that involves the physical pain or emotional distress of one character, who is cared for by another character. The injury, sickness or other kind of hurt allows an exploration of the characters and their relationship.
- Post with Character Name | Series in the subject.
- Others respond.
- Roll 1-10 at RNG for a scene, play it out and have fun!

22. ADDITION. Babies should be joyous things unless you're in a situation where you know you won't be able to care for them. Either you've adopted or found out you're pregnant.
Jim Kirk | Star Trek Reboot | OTA
no subject
She had left Ven in a castle of her own creation and locked away her home from ever being exploited by others. Her body wrecked, there was one final place she had to go before she searched for Terra. She had to see Kirk one final time.
Her entrance could've been better, landing in the command center with her armor chipped, nicked and damaged. Everyone was surprised to see her standing there. A woman suddenly appearing only to collapse, her armor fading away in colors of light.
She was in the sick bay, laying down on a bed with an IV in her arm. Bones said she was exhausted, but she seemed more worse for wear than just that.]
no subject
It wasn't a long trip to Med Bay but it felt like forever. His mind was contriving all manner of nightmarish news, how bad was it? Bones' voice had the 'she's dead, Jim' tone to it and he was imagining horrific burns or missing limbs or permanent coma. But that was just mad conjecture right? Surely she's just fine, a little scratched up, maybe even knocked out.
When he arrived, Bones said something about exhaustion.... but Jim had a bad feeling about Aqua when he saw her. He sat at her side, ordering for her bed to be curtained off for what little privacy they had in medical.
"....Aqua? It's Jim. Can you hear me?"
no subject
She looked nearly like Snow White when she was in her glass coffin. Seemingly peaceful, seemingly resting, but close enough to pass for dead. The only sign of her alive was the heart monitor letting out a soft beep for each beat.
The bluenette didn't look like she'd wake up any time soon.]
no subject
[He sighed heavily and sat, looking her over. She was like a ghost, like she was already dead and his eyes grew misty just looking at her imagining that. He knew she was alive, her chest rose and fell just enough with each breath but... he couldn't see her like this. But he wouldn't be anywhere else.
He comm'd Spock and alerted him he had the rest of the week as acting captain, he had some things to attend to. The crew knew about Aqua, not enough to tell anything incriminating to someone off the ship but enough to know better than to ask the captain about it.
Jim sat there, just waiting for her to wake up, just imagining what he'd do if she didn't...unconsciously his fingers slipped around her hand.
no subject
She used the last of her magic to take her elsewhere, but that was it. Aqua couldn't recall where she went or how she managed to be alive. Any Unversed would've killed her by now, but...there weren't none. No, Vanitas was gone. So then...where was she?
Her vision becoming clearer she turned her head to look at Kirk.]
...Jim?
[Aqua sounded hoarse and confused, still trying to piece together what happened to her.]
no subject
I'm here.... I'm right here, you're safe, you're going to be fine.
no subject
The Enterprise.
Her eyes quickly dart back to Jim. She's back on the Enterprise and he's here. he's right in front of her. It's all coming back to her; the fight, everything.]
I shouldn't...be here.
[The words are filled with guilt as she attempts to sit up and take out the IV line.]
no subject
Please don't... you need to rest...
no subject
She shouldn't have come. She should've gone off to find Terra, but she can't leave.
Rather, Kirk won't let her.]
I'll be fine, Jim. Don't..please, don't worry. I can heal myself, remember?
no subject
I don't know what happened out there but... please... you won't beat it if you go back in this shape. You promised you'd come back if you were in trouble and I promised I'd take care of you. Just let me do that, ok? For me.
Let me take care of you.
no subject
Every second with Jim meant putting him in more danger. It meant putting his crew at risk. How selfish was she?
Aqua bowed her head, forcing herself to swallow the lump in her throat and remain calm. She had to be strong, even in his presence.]
I told you...I'm fine. [Try as she could to sound strong and even toned, her voice came out small.]
no subject
When he spoke again, it was not in the soft gentle tones of Jim that Aqua knew. It was the harder, colder, more demanding tone of Captain Kirk. One that implied dominance and demanded obedience, promising swift retribution should its whims be disobeyed. He hadn't spoken to her as the captain since they first met. That seemed eons ago now.]
No. You're not. And you're staying here until you are. Who are you after? I'll find them and destroy them myself.
no subject
She hadn't heard that tone since they first met, but what he was asking of her made her look back up at him with a glare in her eyes.]
No.
[She wasn't about to lose any one else. Anger, remorse, sadness and frustration shone through her blue eyes.]
You will stand down, Captain. I am more than able to complete my mission.
[One hand relinquished its hold of the bed sheet in favor of grabbing his wrist.]
I will not have you fight my battles.
no subject
... This isn't your decision right now, Aqua. This is my ship, I stand down to no one. You will be released to finish your mission when Doctor McCoy and I allow it.
[It hurt to be tough on her. He could only imagine how much she didn't need this right now. But it was the only way he could see getting through to her without a huge blowout. He wanted to be nice but he was still the captain and he'd get his way. The easy way or the hard way, but still his way. Still, he knew he was hurting her, he tried to be gentle... as much as he could in captain mode.]
I trust you to handle your own missions so long as you are healthy. Tell me who I'm looking for, what am I trying to avoid in the black?
no subject
[Aqua didn't bother to hide her feelings on the subject. She was not his officer or subordinate. She was her own person who had a mission to accomplish. There was enough fight in her to go out and find her best friend and find Xehanort before he laid hands on another person. She had to fulfill her promise and get her, Ven and Terra back together.
Having Kirk prevent her from doing anything was aggravating, but he was probably saving her life. She was acting out and clearly not thinking straight. But she was never the type to sit around and cry over her situation. Her yelling, talking back and acting out was the only way she could deal with her situation.
Her stress jumped twenty levels when he continued to press the issue of finding who she was looking for. Tears were pricking at the corners of her eyes as she held on tightly to his wrist..]
You are not to do anything! It's my mission, my responsibility and I will be damned if I lose you too!
[The dame of emotions she had built up came crashing down, forcing the bluenette to reveal her hand.]
no subject
[She wasn't his crew member but she was on his ship, she was in the kingdom of Jim. And the king was the law around here. Her independence was admirable but his patience was running a bit thin considering it wasn't exactly easy to speak to her this way. Especially when she looked ready to cry...
Aqua... don't, please don't. He'll feel like such a dick if he had to continue with her in tears. Not to imply that he would let up though. He wasn't backing off when her life was on the line.
When she admits her fear of losing him he's hardly surprised. It's what he expected, perhaps even knew she was thinking all this time. She had a fierce love and devotion to protecting everyone she met and especially those she cared about. Except Aqua had this penchant for caring about almost everyone she met which was something Jim loved and respected about her. She was so full of light, she had such an open heart...]
Then you know how I feel. I haven't seen you in forever and you come back to me in shambles, and you'd have me send you back out there to the wolves?
It's not happening. And like it or not we can to this the hard way or the easy way. Up to you.
no subject
She had to keep going and moving, otherwise when she sat around for too long it feels like she's reliving the whole thing in her mind again.
Aqua doesn't say anything, closing her eyes and forcing back the tears that threaten to fall. Her hold of his wrist loosens until she pulls her hand away.
Fine, she'll stay where she is.]
no subject
Aqua... please. Tell me who it is. Who did this?
no subject
I took care of him.
[Her words sounded hollow as she tried to keep a tight reign on her emotions.]
I defeated him and...he's gone.
no subject
Alright... but you're not finished. Who else is out there?
no subject
He was trying to be there for her, but not in the way she needed. She didn't need him going off to fight her battles, but someone who would hold her.]
I'm not saying. You own't risk your life or the lives of your crew for me.
no subject
[He was arguing too though, and it took both of them to keep this up. He knew better from sheer experience now than to force someone to talk who clearly wasn't going to yet. It just ended with both parties bitter and he's had to eat his own bitterness enough times to catch himself and backtrack.]
Alright... not now then.
[He gently reached forward to touch her arm, just anything, any motion from her to open the door again. He hated being shut out.]
What do you need? Tell me.
no subject
When he touched her arm she finally looked up at him. Her eyes were glossy, but she wasn't about to shed a tear, not yet.
She reached up, taking his hand and squeezing it with all her might. Aqua couldn't ask him to let her go.]
I need you to stay....please.
no subject
I won't go. I'm right here. [He reached up, petting her hair]
I really missed you. [He wanted to crawl in the bed and hold her to him, squeeze her like a childhood teddy bear, make sure she never disappeared on him again... but he knew he couldn't, and he probably shouldn't.]
