THE RAD BROMANCE* MEME!

A meme for fun people who just want to chill out and embark upon kickass friendship shenanigans.

1. CHOW TIME:
Food! Everybody loves food. It is the best social lubricant. Cooking it. Burning it. Eating it. Throwing it around! All kinds of food! A picnic, or a diner, or a barbecue, or a swanky restaurant which is going to regret letting you in very soon. The possibilities are endless.

2. SLAM DUNK:
Fuck yeah, sports. Who doesn't love getting all hot and sweaty in the sun? Balls, frisbees, cricket bats! Or, if you'd prefer not to torture yourself with physical exertion, maybe a game of pool is more your style.

3. ROCK N' ROLL:
It's always been your dream to play in a band together! Finally, you are making it happen. You are the most awesome bandmates and you make the best music. You are going to be stars!
(Or not?)

4. GAME NIGHT:
Pawn to d4. Get out of jail free. Colonel Mustard did it in the conservatory with the revolver. Nooo, I told you not to pull that Zenga block out! I warned you, bro.

5. DARES & PRANKS:
Truth…or dare! Or maybe just the lot of you wrecking everybody else's shit. What a bunch of clowns. But face it! It was hilarious. Just maybe not for, uh, that particular guy, who is coming over here, right now, with that look on his face…

6. INTO THE WILD:
For some bizarre reason, you decided to leave your nice, comfy beds behind and camp outside. In the dark. In a tent! Or even just a sleeping bag, under the staaaaars. Don't burn the marshmallows! What was that noise?

7. REV THE ENGINES:
Look at this awesome ride. You'd be happy to take your friends for a spin, of course! Wind in your hair, radio blasting music, the works. Although you would never let them touch the wheel. Nope. This car is your baby (or your parents') and that would be an extremely dumb thing to do!

8. MAKE A SPLASH:
Whether it's an ocean or your backyard or a jungle pool, there's nothing like a good dunk in the water to cool you off! I hope you can swim, because you are going in. Right now!

9. DISNEYLAND!
The smell of cotton candy, the tinny music, the cooling puddle of vomit near the exit to the rollercoaster. It brings you back to when you were ten years old and you thought this was amazing! Or maybe you still do. Who knows. Either way, there are plenty of things to keep a friend or two occupied for a day.

10. SOMETHING ELSE
What? These traditional, sacred bonding activities are dull and clichéd? Your friendship is special and you need to do something a little more special? Jeez, what a wet blanket. Kidding! In that case, you are limited only by your own imagination.

[Every once and a while farmers in The Shire had to deal with a rabbit problem. Vegetables were left half eaten and fields normally filled with crop became patchy. Merry spent an entire evening at the tavern listening to nearly nothing but the farmers' muttered accounts and complaints over the burrows in theirs fields. It wasn't the best night of stories he had heard over drinks but Merry awoke the next day with an idea.

After spending the morning running about collecting odds and ends for his idea, it was about time for luncheon when he went to fetch Pippin.]

Pippin!

[Just as he always did when he was in the area, Merry came calling for Pippin and didn't bother stopping to knock on any doors. Every family member present knew where Merry was headed first to try finding his cousin and they opened doors and shuffled out of the way so he could get there. The dining room, of course. Merry entered the dining room with a sack on his back. A few long sticks and poles were sticking out of the top.]

Pippin?

[Where else would Pippin be? It was luncheon! Clearly, he was going to be sitting down and eating. Truth be told, if you couldn't find a hobbit, you should probably check their kitchen or dining room or pantry.

And lo-and-behold, there he was, a few bites into a scone and a piece of ham when Merry arrived.]

Merry- Merry, what is that? [He wasn't about to stand, because food was more important than... Whatever was going on in Merry's sack.]

[Merry couldn't resist the sight of food laid out on the table. He grabs one of the freshly baked scones- Pippin's mother's work no doubt- from a plate and explains between bites.]

Mmm. I heard that the rabbit holes in the Greenhill's field have yet to be filled in again. So I thought we could play a round of golf while Farmer Greenhill is otherwise occupied.

[He grins mischievously as he takes another bite from the scone.]

[So Merry at least has the manners to speak between bites. Pippin? Not so much.] Golf! Oh, yes, yes! That would be- [he swallows, and then takes another bite.] the only reasonable thing to do now, wouldn't it?

Even more reasonable if we packed a picnic.

A picnic? That's even better! Let's pack some food then.

[As if he were in his own home, Merry starting poking around the table for napkins to wrap up some of the scones to go. At this rate nobody else would be getting any. The contents of his pack rattled as he reached up and down the table.]

What do you say we ought to bring to drink?

Food and golf! What could be better?

[Pippin sets aside his own food to help Merry collect some scones, and while he's at it, meats, cheeses, anything, really. Oh and nice crispy bacon! Merry's more than welcome to raid the Took's kitchen and table. He was family, after all.]

Oh, ale, and lots of it, I would say.

Right! Let's see what's in the pantry. I only hope we can carry all we pack.

[He laughed at the thought, though it was entirely possible they would take more than they could handle. Years of family visits had taught him where the pantries were. Of course many hobbits knew where their friends' pantries were located.]
