The Reverse Other-Wordly Meme

Words are magical things; they can have so many lovely connotations and varied histories.
Words have family trees just like people. They are linked to each other.
Some words are full of flavor and color and describe things you never suspected there were words for.
Words are why we're here.
We've had the reverse picture prompt meme, why not the reverse other-wordly meme? Post a comment with your muse's name and canon in the subject line, and list any preferences you may have. Then head on over to the Other-Wordly blog and hit Random until you get a word. Post one or several, whatever speaks to you and your character!
Responders, use the word(s) as a prompt to write up an RP scenario. Mix and match. Have fun with it! Don't stop with a word, though! Words can often have etymologies that are at odds with their current meanings. Words can shift connotations over time. Let your imagination carry you with the words as its wind.
Adapted from this meme.

What it would give him for certain though was somewhere to hide in plain sight. And while he could do that anywhere upon the planet, or really the universe even, there was some benefit to be had from an environment in which one was used to.
Even if it had been one you were trying to run away from only days before.
He had with him, in some vague attempt to produce what he couldn't say in words with actions, a small gift to give the agent when he arrived. It was nothing, really; though in a sort of sardonic way it could have been the perfect symbolism to what he was really doing here. Yet it was important enough of a trinket to do the seducing without words. Which was why he brought it. Pointless and yet meaningful at the same time.
The god waited, trinket in hand, for the mortal to arrive. And if he felt any nervousness at all to what he was about to do it was buried so deep beneath the hurt and anger that he mistook it readily for the wry glee of playing at another deception so perfectly that not even he knew the truth of his own self.]

Hi. Didn't expect you here, or I would have shown up a bit earlier.

[While not quite snapped at the agent the words held more hardness to them than intended and Loki shifted position awkwardly. Wordlessly, he held up the gift before he could make another blunder and waited for the agent to take it.
It was one of Coulson's favorite types of things to collect: an antique gadget. It was still in working condition and had been meticulously cleaned for the occasion.]

[He trailed off, eyes widening as he saw the camera, because of course he knew what it was immediately.]
Oh my God, where did you get that?

[He stretched his arm out further towards the agent in offering.]
Unless, of course, you don't want it...
no subject
No, no, I didn't say that.
[Not that that would stop him from triplechecking to make sure none of them have been reported missing anywhere, but that was not exactly the point at that moment. He turned it over carefully in his hands, just looking at it.]

Step one complete. The rest would simply follow on its own. They'd played this game too often for Loki to expect anything else.
Only this time, things would turn out differently in the end.]

[He holds up a hand.]
Hold on one second, let me go put this on a shelf.

[Loki waited silently while he watched the agent do as said.]

Thank you so much.

It will always be here for you.

Loki preferred to be the cause. But in due time; he had other plans to set in motion before that day came to pass.
He smiled ruefully at the agent.]
That is a relief. It is hard not to grow accustomed to a certain set of circumstances and routines. Perhaps it is a flaw, but-- [He shrugged.]

So... do you want anything to eat?
no subject
Are you calling me normal, Agent Coulson?
no subject
I wouldn't go nearly that far.
