love at first sight
The Love at First Sight Meme

"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night."

"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night."
Pretty self-explanatory. Sometimes, chemistry just hits you and you see that special someone for the first time and . . . it's so intense, there's no reasoning behind it other than it has to be love.
How this works:
→ Leave a comment with the usual information in the subject line: character name, fandom. Any preferences, including what you don't want, should be included as well.
→ Congratulations, whoever tags your character is seeing them for the first time and is in love with them. Truly, madly, deeply.
→ Tag around. Play out shenanigans. Serious or cracky or anything.
→ Have fun, and be excellent to each other!

Getting in to Michigan U (Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes). Landing a job at S-Mart. Getting payed minimum wage. It's like finally, life is setting up all the best turns for him, and he's making every one seamlessly.
Ash grins like he's the man who owns the world, nodding goodbye to a departing (and rather dissatisfied) customer, calling out the familiar words: ] Shop Smart! Shop S-Mart! [ before turning back to help an older gentleman with his toaster selection.
It's just then he lands his eyes on her.
They nearly bulge out of their sockets as the toaster box slips from his fingers and clatters to the floor, landing directly on the mans foot. He gives a wild, angry yell, but Ash can't hear a thing. For the next forty seconds, she holds the attention of every fiber of his being.
The only question is: how the hell did he not see her before? ]

She's half bent over, adjusting the bag rack, when Linda feels as though someone if watching her. And it isn't a customer. Straightening up, she looks around and adjusts the buttons on her employee vest when she see him out of the corner of her eye. The new housewares clerk, what was his name? Aaron? Andrew? It starts with an A, that's all she knows.
Linda notes his staring, and she can't help the blush that creeps up onto her cheeks. He's pretty cute, and tall, and thin...
She offers a quick smile before turning her attention to the new customer before her, trying to ignore the sudden flustered feeling that washes over her.

While working quietly, diligently – Old Manager Higgins is watching -, Ash reflects. He’s seen her before, he’s certain of it. Not in the staffroom, because she’d stand out against that murky paint job like some ray of perfect sunshine. Maybe on the street somewhere, or maybe she and Scotty had...
He blanches, freezing in his movements, before shaking his head. Nah. She doesn't look like his type.
He's been wrong before, though.
Casually as he can, Ash sneaks a peek out of the corner of his eye, hoping to spot her once more. ]

She smiles, tucking a loose curl of hair behind her ear.]
Hi. [She glances at his name tag.] Ash right? You new here, aren't you?

Um, [ Dumbass. ] yeah - yeah, I started... two weeks ago? [ He winces. ] What I mean is - meant was - I started... two weeks ago.
[ Mister Smoothie, clearly. ]
Yeah, name's Ash. Ash Williams. [ He thrusts out a hand, miraculously capable of balancing a toaster box in the other. ] And you're - [ It hits him just then that he can't look at her nametag without seeming like a perv, but he'll seem like a complete idiot now if he doesn't.
The hole he's digging for himself is fantastic. ]

I'm Linda.
[Pulling away, she rolls the bottle of juice in her grip and tilts her head. Her tone is one of mock seriousness.]
So Ash, how do you feel working for our fine little shop?

He licks his lips, and frowns. ] It's, uh, it's great. Really great. I mean, the pay is kind of - [ He cuts himself off hastily. ] No, really, it's great.

Well that's good. Try and keep that sunny disposition, ok? [She pauses, biting her lip as she rocks from foot to foot.] I'm actually supposed to be on my break right now, so maybe I shouldn't hold you up.
[She arches an eyebrow, and blinks up at him.]
Unless you get to go on break soon too?

[ He blurts the words out without even thinking. Realizing this, Ash rocks back on his heels for a moment, thinking. Licking his lips, he backpedals. ] Uh, what I mean is, I've done more than my fair share of work this afternoon. Pretty sure management wont mind if I duck out for a few minutes.
[ He's not too willing to have her disappear amongst the minimum wage zombies again. ]

How about I let you finish up here, and then you meet me upstairs? That way they can't just accuse you of leaving work unattended.
[Linda offers a small wave, and turns to amble towards the breakroom. There's a fluttering warmth in her chest, and a her face feels hot. She decides not to blame it on the store's faulty heating and air conditioning for once.]

Flying through his work faster than the time Cheryl tried a tab of ecstasy (I'm experimenting for art, Ashley), Ash nearly topples over a customer in his haste to get to the break-room. He utters hasty apologies, and promises to send someone to help the woman take her purchases to her car, and before long, he's there in the doorway, chest heaving.
Brown eyes scan the room, and parts of him feel lighter than air when they land on her. ]
Linda!
