Well, I was there and I saw what you did I saw it with my own two eyes So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you've been It's all been a pack of lies
[It's happened before. It's a danger he lives with. Everything he does is dangerous. He's used to that. He's constantly aware that at any moment, the elaborate ruse he's constructed might crumble around him.
He knows it will happen someday, but he prefers to put if off as long as possible.
The first time he almost lost his mask in combat, he was able to escape in time, pressing his hand to his face as it fell away. On this occasion, the timing is less fortunate. It breaks open suddenly in the midst of combat, taking him by surprise. All at once, he feels the wind against his face. The world seems to fall still. He freezes in midair--but only for an instant--in the next moment, he's propelling himself away, his heart racing.
He doesn't know if anyone saw. There's no way to tell. It was a single second, and he was facing away from the heroes, but he hadn't been able to take the time to assess the situation or others' reactions. What can he do? He can't act on the assumption that he was seen--that might be too suspicious--yet he can't assume that he wasn't.
Maybe it's courage, or maybe it's foolishness, but, the next day, Yuri arrives at the Administration of Justice building, as he does every morning. He makes his way to his offices and tries to ignore the nervousness that unsettles his stomach and draws a deeper line between his brows.]
[It had been a lucky cut. Most of the attention (and cameras) were focused on the laboratory robbery. Origami had missed his target, shuriken flying wide and out of sight. No one even noticed Lunatic until he fled in a blur of seething blue and lime flame, hands clamped to his face.
The Heroes missed their chance. Agnes hadn’t. She immediately ordered all the camera footage be downloaded to her computer, and left the rest of the episode to the assistant director. Vaguely, she registers the sun has risen, and downs another gulp of coffee. Ugh. It’s gone cold. Ignoring the nagging ache in her shoulders, she dives into the next batch, advancing frame by frame. One clear shot. That’s all she needs.

[He didn't hear anything on the news, and as he enters his office, there's nothing amiss. His secretary greets him as usual. His work computer waits, quiet. He turns it on, illuminating it.
Still, he feels no less uneasy. He's not used to making mistakes. Even when he's taken risks and been injured--notably, that time he'd assisted Kaburagi--there were unforeseen consequences, but the end result was ultimately in his favor, so he had not categorized them as mistakes afterward.
This is different. He doesn't know what the consequences, if any, are yet, but if his face was exposed so easily, clearly he's committed an error. He'll have to redesign his mask, maybe, if allowed that opportunity. If it's happened twice now, it could happen again. He doesn't have access to a lab and the best scientists in the field, like the Heroes.
It occurs to him that even if they did see his face, they'll want to take their time and be careful. He's extremely dangerous. They'll want to be sure they can nullify his powers as soon as possible. He hates the idea of them being taken away. Even more, he hates the idea of being placed in the same facility as the criminals he despises so much. He imagines, however, that they'll place him in isolation, since--
He shouldn't think about it. It's not doing him any good. He has to remain wary, but he can't allow himself to grow anxious or preoccupied.
He sits down at his desk with a frown and starts to work, as usual.]
[Even with the clear shot, Agnes finds she’s made little progress. Deep fingers of scar tissues mar most of Lunatic’s face, the pattern mirroring his mask. Are they burns? The man seems... vaguely familiar, but she’s so tired. She could just be seeing what she wants to.]
Leaning back, she considers the greater issue. Having this is dangerous. This is Lunatic - the vigilante, the psychopath who’s proclaimed himself judge and jury over Sternbild. He’s made a mockery of the justice system AND her show. Even though this footage didn’t air, he’s probably going to figure out it exists.
And who’s going to have access? Why, that would be the producer! Agnes didn’t get to be head of Hero TV without being genre savvy - and there’s no trope so obvious as offing The Dame Who Knows Too Much. She taps in a few commands for insurance, then locks the office.
Coffee. Fresh air. There’s that cafe across the street - maybe a change of scenery will help her figure out a course of action.]

Well then. Bonjour, Lunatic.
sorry my tagging speed is a bit slow!
