Loki | MCU
1; sometime pre-films
Or so Frigga feels. She stands out on a stone balcony above a parapet set high over the palace. Hands resting on the edge of the wall, her loosely-bound hair streaming back across her shoulders as her head tilts up, she watches the heavens above with a smile.
It is, she thinks, a magnificent sight. One she would rather share, and she waits for another to join her. She sent a servant with a message asking for her younger son to come and find her. It's something he would appreciate, and anyway she thinks perhaps it's been too long since they had a moment alone.]

From the room entrance Loki pauses to observe for a brief moment. His mother was always awe-inspiring and with the twilight sky as her backdrop currently it seemed even more so. His gaze traveled upward, to where her eyes seemed to be locked, and a thin smile trailed over his lips as he saw what she was watching.
When he finally approached he did so slowly so as not to disturb his mother. He kept silent and waited to be noticed.]

Ah, Loki. At last. I see were given my summons. [Briefly she lifts one hand, gesturing upward.] But look, my son! Is it not a most glorious night? I hope you will pardon me for asking you to join me.
[It's not really an apology so much as an offhand statement. It's obvious she feels Loki will be as pleased to be here as she is. If she were wrong, she'd be both surprised and disappointed.]

It is most glorious, Mother. A far better sight than a dusty tome read in the dark library at such a time. [He would not have minded staying in the library, alone, with the books he chose to read. But he also did not mind setting them aside for his mother, or a night such as this. It truly was an inspiring sight to behold.]

[She knows Loki's love of books and scrolls full well. The pleasure he takes in being alone with naught but new sources for knowledge. But it is his way, and she would not deny him his cleverness any more than she'd fail to take pride in it.]
