This meme is about gaining, using and abusing power over others. Now with more options! Warning: contains possible triggers.

How to play

- Post your character with their name and canon in the subject line. You can also give your preferences if you do/don't want to thread anything R-rated or above.
- When replying, go to RNG and roll numbers 1-2 to get a scenario type, then 1-16 to select a scenario.
- Play out that scenario! Please respect others' wishes if they don't want to play out a particular scene.

i. manipulation

01. Mind games. You're messing with this person's head, using whatever you know about them to your advantage. Words are barbs, and everyone has a weakness.
02. Stay close to me. You're not letting this person out of your sight. And you don't care what extreme measures you have to go to in order to do it.
03. Blackmail. You know something and you're not afraid to use it against them. Now they have to do what you want.
04. Love makes you do things. It's because you love them that you're making them do this. If they truly loved you, wouldn't they do as you say?
05. For your own good. It doesn't matter what the other person wants. You know what's best, and you're going to force it on them whether they like it or not.
06. Break you down. You're going to make the other person think they're worthless. Crush their self-esteem, break them until they're entirely helpless.
07. Betrayal. You made a promise, and you broke it. Or perhaps you betrayed this person's trust. It's all part of gaining the upper hand.
08. Lies, lies, lies. Fool the other person with words and you'll have them wrapped around your finger in no time.
09. Sob story. A little bit of emotional manipulation never hurt anyone, right? You're going to use this person's feelings for you against them. Make them feel sorry!
10. In your debt. Look, you saved them. The other person wouldn't be here without you. They should show some gratitude.
11. I need you. You're depending on the other person to do as you say. They're the only one who can help.
12. Turn up the charm. There's nothing like a bit of good old-fashioned flirting to get someone eating out of your hand.
13. Negotiating. There's a bargain to be struck, if only you can find the right words – and the right leverage.
14. For my sake. Why should they do as you say? Because you're the one asking.
15. The truth. It's the thing that hurts most of all.
16. Your choice. Combine any of the above scenarios or choose your own! It's up to you.

ii. mastery

01. Pretty little puppet. You can command this person at will. They're a plaything, to do with as you please.
02. You're mine. You own this person, and you're going to make sure they know it.
03. No escape. Maybe you've locked the other person up somewhere, maybe you've got them in chains. Either way, they're not going anywhere.
04. Put in your place. That's it. The other person made one too many caustic comments, got in your way one last time. Now you're going to show them who's boss.
05. Force of strength. Nothing like a good old fashioned brawl to really prove who's stronger.
06. Cornered. Finally, you've got them alone. This is the moment you've been waiting for – and perhaps the moment they've been dreading.
07. Turning the tables. They thought they'd won, but here's your chance! Maybe it's time to give them a taste of their own medicine, or maybe you have a new trick up your sleeve.
08. Punishment. The other person has done something wrong, or maybe just something you don't like. Now you're going to punish them.
09. Back and forth. I have a laser gun! Well, I have a lightsaber! Whatever it is, you're closely matched and trying to outdo each other.
10. Make them beg. You hold all the power and whatever it is they want or need, you're going to make them beg for it.
11. Call my bluff. You're making claims you can't back up. Can you bluff your way out of this, or will the other person catch on?
12. Time to pay. The other person owes you, and it's time for them to pay up.
13. Show of dominance. You're not actually going to hurt this person. You're just going to show them that you could.
14. The most precious thing. Whatever is most important to the other person, you're going to take it away. Because you can.
15. Consequences. You warned them. They failed, and now they're going to pay the price.
16. Your choice. Combine any of the above scenarios or choose your own! It's up to you.

[ he's realized, now, that whenever masaomi leaves, things take a turn for the worst. ...no, it's more like he takes a turn for the worst. of course, he wouldn't call the creation of dollars the worst, but it was created to fill the void of his best friend. after the incident at the warehouse... everything had changed. mikado had changed, had become a sort of scary abnormal that he'd never thought of becoming when he had wished so hard for his life to be anything but boring.

...and so, to prevent that, masaomi needs to say here. it's a shame that he has a tendency to leave. it's a shame that he had to go to the lengths of kidnapping his best friend to make sure that everything's going to be okay.

because, after all. so long as he keeps changing... he's an unideal in dollars as well, isn't he? ]

[Masaomi knows one thing for sure. This isn't where he was when last he remembers. Then again, his memory is proving fuzzy, disjointed and impossible to organize. Bits and pieces seep through the cracks of his mind, but stubbornly, they refuse to gather into a complete story.

Did some fight go south? Is he sick?

Ha. That's right out of some ridiculous manga intro. If that's true, then when he opens his eyes, there'll be a beautiful girl sitting in the room and taking care of him while he recovers. She'll make him delicious food and fluff his pillow and smile a shining, relieved smile when he says that he feels better thanks to all her hard work.

For a smile like that, he can do more than just open his eyes! He can-]

...Good morning, Masaomi.

[ it's... not the kind of good morning that he would have wanted. it's not the kind of good morning that anyone would have wanted, honestly. but, that's because things still aren't "okay", yet. he hasn't stayed here long enough to fix everything with his presence yet. ]

[Carefully, Masaomi sits up. It feels as if he's somehow defied all reasonable traction, causing clammy hands to bounce and slide unnaturally over the floor. He's not exactly shaking in his boots, but his gaze is trapped, staring stupidly at the person he still considers his best friend despite his inability to so much as face him. He doesn't know what's happening, or why, and that's enough cause for worry.

But he also immediately shies away from revealing that worry. It's second nature by now; Masaomi doesn't even think about it. In front of Ryuugamine Mikado, everything has to be okay. Even though it's not.

Golden brows furrow.]

Why are you here?

["Where is here?" he thinks a second later, but then, he's never really had his priorities in check.]

...It's going to sound strange, but because you are. I've realized now, that you need to be here for things to be alright.

Mikado can't tell him that. Nobody should tell him that. Now that he's gone, Anri and Mikado can live normally, right? They won't have to worry about the yellow scarves ever again. They can grow closer and enact their very own romantic comedy while Masaomi patches his elsewhere.]

No, it is. You're not giving yourself enough credit, Masaomi. If you hadn't have left Saitama, I wouldn't have created Dollars. ...If you hadn't had left Ikebukuro, things wouldn't be going the way they are now.

[Mikado's decisiveness registers far more effectively than his actual diction. It's a little unnerving. He's supposed to be the shy one, not Masaomi.]

[He can't even bring himself to form the question in his own words, so he parrots back Mikado's. What does that mean? Why does he feel like he doesn't want to know?]

Mikado. I'm not some miracle wrench.

[He moves to stand up, anything to add authority to what he's saying, to make it clear that this isn't how things should be between them.]

What's going on? How did you even-

[Find him? Masaomi's mind immediately switches gears, disturbed. Is this Izaya's doing somehow? If it is... His fists clench.]

Not "wrench", maybe. ...You don't really have to do anything but exist here, to make things better. I'm not wrong about this, Masaomi. I've thought about it, and you leaving is the only common link.

So, you're not leaving anymore.

["You're not leaving anymore."

Masaomi takes a step forward. Once he manages that, he can take another, and another. He prepares to walk right past Mikado.]

I have to go.

[Find Saki. Confront Izaya. Figure out what's brought this on.

No matter what it is, he has to leave now.]

...Didn't you hear me?

You're not leaving.

[ it sounds like it would be an an empty threat, but... his tone. the look in his eyes. mikado is completely serious about this. ]

[He wavers, facing Mikado uncertainly. Mikado isn't asking or even demanding; he's speaking like he's stating facts. Masaomi gulps down his indecision and keeps walking.]

I'm not staying here.

You're the only one who can fix this, Masaomi.

[ he's the only one who makes things right. he has to be here, or else things are going to get even worse for him and he'll keep turning into a person that masaomi doesn't want to be around. ...though, judging by this situation, he already is. ]

...Please. I need you to be here.

[His fists clench ever tighter at his sides, but he manages a whole five more paces before stopping. He doesn't want to turn back around, yet his feet won't take him another step forward. What is he supposed to do? Mikado...]
