First Kiss Meme
![]() one. It's your first date, and you're dropping them off at the door. Are they going to lean in? Should you..? two. You have been friends since forever. Everyone knows you like each other, but the moment quite hasn't arisen for the first kiss. Until now. three. Awkward first kisses! Maybe you just bumped noses, or you kissed their chin instead. Time for attempt number two! four. Maybe this is your very first kiss, or maybe it's theirs! Either way, one of you is experienced and the other isn't. What if it turns out really bad?! (But hey, maybe you're a natural.) five. The accidental kiss. Might have tripped over your own feet, or maybe you've collided and they landed on top of you. Either way, your lips are locked- Where you go from there is up to you. six. UST kisses. There's been some sort of tension between you for a while. Maybe you fight all the time, maybe you're in love with each other and you keep getting interrupted before anything happens. Either way, that tension needs to end now! seven. Either pick one, mesh some together, or re-roll! what am i doing i'm so sorry; 1
Even if most of the time it felt more like daycare than anything else.
Geez. How do those guys keep up with this guy? As if Nitori isn't enough.
The sound of cicadas and crickets chirping from the bushes resound through the night as Rin, silent and with his hands hidden in his pockets, follows alongside Nagisa to the doorstep of his home. He hasn't been here in a long time, now that he thinks about it, and to be honest it feels strange, almost as if he's dreaming, but he shakes the feeling off just before he speaks up and comes to a stop just outside the door.]
We're here.
pfft you have nothing to be sorry for
Nagisa, if pressed, would not call his approach to getting what he wants pestering, especially when he's so sure that the other person would enjoy it just as much as he would. If they would just think a little more reasonably, they'd agree right away and he wouldn't have to be so persistent.
That's okay, though. He's used to people not paying attention to what's important. And really, who could be surprised that Rin-chan sort of forgot that there was anyone in Iwatobi other than Haru-chan? Nagisa doesn't mind having had to remind him. Repeatedly.
(And it's not like having to fight for Rin-chan's attention is new or anything.)
And they did have fun, just like Nagisa had known they would, though it was a little different than he'd expected. They're both older, of course, they've both changed, but it wasn't just that. It's the first time Nagisa has ever felt on equal footing with Rin-chan. He had the same experience with Mako-chan and Haru-chan at the beginning of the school year, putting the team together with them instead of having to beg to join them, but with Rin-chan, it's . . . different.
He really, really likes it.
"I'm glad you decided to come out tonight," he says, as brightly energetic as if he hasn't just spent the evening buzzing around like a hummingbird. "I told you it would be fun."

Just as long as Nagisa didn't speak too much during the movie they watched or munched away too loudly on his popcorn, then, sure. Rin would... try to have a good time, or at least try less to pretend he wasn't. Not like any of that would quite get past Nagisa, he figured. The other boy always had a way of reading into people's true feelings.
Rubbing his neck, Rin glances away, never too sure how to properly deal with such positivity and exuberance. It's almost draining just to be around him. "You practically drilled those words into my head before we left," he grumbles. Besides, it's not that Rin doubted they would have a good time. Believe it or not, he trusts Nagisa to some degree, trusts all of his old friends, and even if his decisions are a bit flamboyant and outlandish, there's no denying a few moments with Nagisa will at the very least be interesting. Much better than staring at the bottom of his roommate's bunk for the rest of the night, that's for sure.
Sighing, he looks back to him. "Anyway. It's getting late, isn't it?"

(Or maybe they just don't want to disappoint him. Whatever works.)
And he still hasn't gotten over the glossy newness of being able to establish ties with his friends outside swimming. It was Mako-chan who pointed out that they ought to be sure to reinforce their friendship with Rin-chan, to remind him that they really did want him as a friend too, but Nagisa knew that long before their captain ever thought to say it out loud.
"Sometimes people need reminding," Nagisa says and what he feels is an eminently reasonable way.
"Oh, is it? You aren't going to miss your train, are you?" He'd sort of forgotten that that would be a consideration. Oops?

(And, yes, it's partially because no one wants to disappoint Nagisa. Look, seeing him sad and gloomy just doesn't work.)
There's not much to say to that, however, and for a moment Rin considers just waving and turning around to head off, but that reminder about his train shocks him and he stalls, eyes going wide and fingers tensing in the pockets of his hoodie. "Ah-- train." Dammit! Did he miss it? What even is the time, though? What if he ends up stranded out here!? Shit, he should have been paying closer attention! Even if he ran at this point, no matter how quickly Rin can run, he probably won't be able to catch it.
"Tch! Great..."

"It's okay, Rin-chan. You can stay here! Only Chi-chan is here and she won't care."
The Hazukis are under the impression that their eldest daughter Chihaya is a responsible caretaker. Since this impression is to the benefit of all the Hazuki children, they have taken steps throughout the years to maintain the illusion.

He's older now and can probably hold his own if some sort of shenanigans come up, but, still.
With a sigh, "I can probably just catch the late train back." Admittedly it won't be coming around for another hour or so, but, honestly, staying in the Hazuki household overnight can only mean trouble.

Nagisa, who had been excited at the prospect of a sleepover, deflates a bit.
"How long will you have to wait?" he asks. Will it be long enough for him to convince Rin-chan that the late train is boring and staying the night is obviously the way to go?

Rin clicks his tongue then looks away as he rubs his neck. See, this is why he has such a hard time interacting with Nagisa. It's difficult. How can he possibly say no when he gets like this?
"Tsk. Probably a while," he grumbles, which is Rin-speak for 'yeah, ok, maybe staying here would be a little bit more convenient.'
no subject
. . . he doesn't always do it on purpose.
"Well, then it's better to stay and catch the early train tomorrow instead," he says, with the satisfied voice-of-reason tone that comes from being right. And also knowing you're winning.

Man, what a hassle. Sighing, Rin shrugs and steps closer to start heading for Nagisa's front door. It's getting cold out here and he doesn't want to freeze to death, all right? Though as he walks he realizes belatedly what he's just agreed to. Staying over at Nagisa's place--When was the last time he did anything like this? He just hopes he doesn't end up making some kind of fool of himself.
But all those thoughts stay with Rin and on the outside he maintains that rough exterior known for frightening poor little kohai away... or making them press even harder. "Come on, then. It's damn cold out here."
no subject
"Yay, Rin-chan!" Nagisa shouts, because what it would take to frighten him off is frankly more than the average person is capable of doing with a clear conscience. He reaches into his pocket for his key with one hand, linking the other arm around Rin's.
"I can make hot chocolate," he says. Because it's so cold.
