[ As the year progresses school-life occasionally dips towards not only improving the intellect of it's students but strengthening the bonds between upper and lower classmen alike. There are quaint little on-campus festivals scattered out amongst the year. That and several winter dances which have long since lost their western origins outside formal attire and slow waltzs. None of them may be extravagant productions, but they're done up with tinsel and paper decorations made by the students themselves through hard work and a little love.

Gatherings are considered mandatory; participation linked with school spirit and camaraderie. So, playing hookey means there will be consequences. Those which Haruka learns the hard way after one too many absentees from said functions.

It's a punishment of a two letter variety, namely a certain miss Amakata who has been assigned with keeping a strict eye on him from the evening's start. It's bad enough that he's been forced to attend the gathering, but to have his homeroom teacher as escort? That was downright humiliating. Sufficient to say that he breaks away from her side and drifts off to try and wallflower somewhere out of her sight. Hopefully until all of this ends. ]

[Thor may not have realized that some of the Asgardians were perhaps a little more attentive to Midgard than he was actually advised of. Little white lies never hurt anyone, right?

It had made Sif greatly saddened as a goddess of battle to see what was happening in Europe, and the actions of those now referred to as the Axis made her angry. It's why she persuaded Heimdall to permit her to use the Bifrost to go to Midgard, and why she'd taken up the identity of a mortal woman who could spy for the Allies.

That was how she'd wound up in this posh villa in France, determined to assassinate a key member of the Nazi regime who was in attendance. As her target danced with his lady companion, in order to get a good look she'd have to dance as well.

She reached for the nearest male arm, flashing a smile without truly looking at his face at first.]

[ Post-breach, everything seems at once the same and different.

The same, because Raleigh is with her, his presence constant and reassuring and familiar in a way that can only be defined by two people who have shared as intense a connection as Drift partners have. Different, in that they are no longer bound to the PPDC as tightly as they both once were, and have freedoms now in their new lives that neither of them are still quite sure what to do with.

The song ended several moments ago but they're still wrapped up in one another in the center of their meager living room, swaying to the memory of it in their heads, hands soothing over shoulders and forearms and waists, rubbing chins on shoulders with closed eyes in the way that satisfied cats tend to do.

They sleep together in his bed every night despite the fact that they each have their own rooms, curled up and entwined with one another, and although there hasn't been the all-consuming need to push things further on her part (or on Raleigh's), Mako wonders when their combined need for everything tactile will push them completely over the edge and cause everything to spill over. ]
