Rabbit Done Died Meme
"The rabbit died" is an old saying meaning one is pregnant, coming from the now no longer practiced rabbit test.
Congratulations!
You're pregnant. Knocked up. Eating for two. Have a bun in the oven.
Insert your own cliched phrase here. No matter how you say it, you're
downright fertilized. Even if you're not typically in possession of a
womb, somehow it happened. Are you scared? Happy? Gassy? A combination
of everything? And who's the father, anyway?
1. Post with your character with their name and series in the subject line. If
you want to avoid any of the options, this would also be a good place to
list them.
2. This is one of those RNG memes, so you'll want to go to our good friend Random Number Generator and roll 1-6 for how far along you are. Or just pick what one you'd prefer.
3. If you're replying to someone, roll 1-4 for how you factor into this madness!
So, how far along are you anyway?
1. Two months - Sooooo all this sickness is kind of annoying, isn't it? At least you can still fit in your old clothes, right?
2. Four months - Okay, so things are getting a little tight. Time to break out the flowy stuff!
3. Six months - OH MY GOD IT'S AN ALI-- oh, no. It's just the baby moving. Although it's still kind of creepy, isn't it?
4. Eight months - Please. Please let it be over. Have mercy.
5. Overdue - C'mon kid! I'll buy you a pony! NO! TWO PONIES! My baaaaaack.
6. Wildcard - Your choice!
What's your role in this whole mess, person replying?
1. YOU ARE THE FATHER - Well, now you've gone and done it. Are you going to take responsibility, or head for the hills?
2. Friend - You may not have done the deed, but you're going to be there to help your buddy. No matter HOW weird the circumstances!
3. Enemy - Do you feel a 'HAW HAW' coming on? This is just too funny.
4. Wildcard - Second verse, same as the first.
Not my meme. Shamelessly copied!

properly aged up to 20. #1
"I'm home," he called out softly, in case she was busy with something of her own.
2 months~ 8D
But regardless. She had a confirmation now. And had spent the remainder of the afternoon in their home in quiet contemplation over it. It was unexpected news, certainly. She couldn't say that it was unwanted--not after an extensive conversation kicked off by penguins of all things months ago--but... unexpected. Unplanned.
And she couldn't help but wonder if Ling was going to come up with yet another horse analogy for himself in this situation. He had a penchant for those...
She heard him unlocking the door and moved to greet him, still wearing her western clothing from earlier in the day (because undressing from a kimono to get into one of those ridiculous flimsy gowns was not something she wanted to deal with). She gave him a warm smile, particularly in seeing the flowers. "Welcome home--here, let me take something," she said, reaching out to take something out of his arms.
uhhh I don't really have icons for any of this.
Then he pulled away to grin teasingly at her. "There. You can take that," he purred, and then he skipped away into the kitchen.
alas~
She turned and followed him to the kitchen, one hand subconsciously moving to her stomach. She'd been thinking about what to say for hours and still had no idea of exactly how to bring it up.
"How was your day?" she asked, reaching out for the flowers at least when she caught up with him.

He whipped out a bunch of gorgeous travel brochures and reached past her to spread them on the table with a flourish. "I don't know much about any of these places, other than where I've gone over the years, so... it's your pick. It doesn't matter to me where we go."
no subject
"I don't care for snow," she answered, stepping closer to the table to look over the possible locations and quickly pushed aside anything that had a hint of white on the front--she had far too many bad memories where snow was concerned. Of course her mind came back quickly to the topic at hand--or not yet at hand. "How... soon do you expect these missions to be...?"

He opened a brochure and read the name aloud. "Fiji. Look, it even sounds Xingese." He flipped through the pages to show her tropical beaches, swinging from palm trees into secluded little lagoons, rock climbing, riding around in a jeep in the jungle. Best of all, there was quite a fancy shot of the hotel room in which there was a gigantic bed with a mosquito net, a balcony for watching the stars, and a lady was bathing in a deep soaking tub, up to her neck in colorful flowers while a pair of hands massaged her back.
He winked at her. "Place like this, I may not even leave the room," he whispered into her ear with a playful smirk.

Tomoe glanced back down to the tabletop, pushing the small booklets out a bit more to see them all when her eyes fell on... a very clear image of Mt. Fuji. She snatched the booklet up, her eyes widening a bit, and just held it up for him to see. "Japan... Japan is on the list?"

"I... have thought... about going back..." she said quietly, turning the first few pages to see cityscapes that would never have suggested Japan to her at all had she not known what she was looking at. "But it won't actually be... home..." Another page of modern buildings, modern restaurants and attractions.
And then an image of the Sensouji temple and the Asakusa shrine. She stopped and set her fingers against the images, the first bit of recognition there. Another page displayed hanami... and another Obon. She slowly closed the booklet and sat it down on the table again. "But maybe not... while you are on a mission..." Her left hand moved over her stomach again without thinking about it.
"Ling, I need to tell you something before we make any sort of travel plans... I would think it might affect the decision..."

Ling took Tomoe's hand in both of his and kissed her knuckles, then the back of her hand. "I'll take you anywhere you want. Your wish is my command," he flashed her a crooked smile, kissing her palm, then the inside of her wrist. "My princess."
He was already kissing a row of soft, gentle kisses up her arm (apparently he had an idea where he wanted to take her at the moment) when she said she needed to tell him something. He looked up at her through lowered eyelashes. "Can it wait? I'm attempting to put my moves on you," Ling teased in a stage whisper.

Tomoe threaded her fingers with his, even while he continued to kiss his way up her arm, answering his question with a raised brow. "I suppose it can, but I have the feeling you would rather know now," she said, turning more directly toward him, her free hand moving to touch his other arm.
"Do you remember that conversation we had months ago...? That started off about penguins, hm?" It had started off as a silly, curious conversation... and turned into something quite serious--specifically about the matter at hand. She hoped bringing that topic up again would offer a gentle transition.

"Yes?" he managed to ask, trying to force the tone of his voice not to change in response.

"I'm about eight weeks pregnant..." she squeezed his hand, and finally looked up again after a long pause, nervous for his reaction.
