Hey, Peter, have you ever had to deal with ghosts as Spiderman? Because that's a thing. It probably seemed like an evil villain — or worse, a potential generic killer at large, because the six kids who vanished without a trace are kind of a big deal. You probably recognize some of those names from school.

At any rate, that's why Sam's here. As far as he's concerned, Spiderman can handle most of the crazy crap that pops up (why do you think Winchester never visit the place often?), but he's pretty sure the guy isn't about to go deal with actual ghosts haunting warehouses. And — yeah, maybe he should call Dean, maybe put aside his feeling of betrayal and ache and sweep Gadreel under the rug... but he's not going to.

He can handle a kidnapping ghost on his own.

    He tells himself.

As he wanders the warehouse, scanning for cold spots and EMF readings, he already knows he's in the right place. On his shoulder, he shifts the duffel full of salt, iron rods, salt-filled shotgun rounds and so on; perfect for the hunt, but he's also interested in trying to locate these poor kids alive. In the moonlight, he lays an emergency ring of salt, just in case, and pulls forth his gun and a flashlight.

Ready to venture into the dark depths.

... Hopefully no danger or pain will come from this.

New York is home to lots of weird shit. Eight and a half million people in one place - you tended to find pockets of weird all over the place. Peter, as Spiderman, took it upon himself to separate the normal weird and the dangerous weird, fighting supervillains and sometimes just regular villains, to the best of his abilities. So six missing kids - unfortunately, it's not an uncommon occurrence. Not that Peter isn't taking it seriously, but he's pretty positive it's just normal humans being horrible. The sex slave trade, especially down near the docks, was very difficult to squash.

So Peter's out, swinging through the streets trying to track down the culprit. It smells - bizarre, really, he has no idea why there's a sulfuric scent trail wherever the kidnapper strikes. Perhaps it's some sort of chemical they're using to knock out their victims? Even with Peter's enhanced senses, though, he can't find another trace of chemical there, to figure out exactly what is in the compound. It just...smells like sulfur, strongly.

He's tracked it all the way to the docks, and has spent the past several nights searching the abandoned warehouses in the area. Tonight is no different; he's worked his way through the third row of dockhouses and is starting on the fourth. What is different, however, is the heartbeat he can hear inside this building. He crawls in through a window up top, trying to move as silently as possible and recon the scene first.
