PET PERSON SHIPPING MEME!

PET PERSON SHIPPING MEME

>> premise

Hello, and welcome to The Care and Keeping of Your Pet! As you surely know, a pet is a big responsibility, and we're so glad you've decided to be a concientious master. A safe pet is a happy pet, and this handbook is certain to keep your precious lifelong friend as content as can be.

The history of the animal person is a long and difficult one, with their origins not being known even to this day. However, scientists believe that despite our common appearance - most animal people have humanoid forms except for the ears, tails, and sometimes teeth - we share no common ancestry, even if the ascent of this species corresponds with that of the homo sapien. We gained dominance over each breed thousands of years ago, beginning with the dog type, who have long been considered "man's best friend." Most breeds these days are docile and perfect for owners of any speed.

Of course, it is our duty as the superior species to take care of these animal creatures, and this is inherent in their genetic makeup. Everyone knows that an animal person, when matched with their correct human master, is loyal for life - a true "soulmate," if you will. Far be it for us to turn this away! Ever since the Great Domestication, these intelligent and loving animals have served us as friends, workmates, guardians, servants, and sexual companions and will for years to come. Despite recent hubbub from so-called "Pet People's Rights Activists," this way of life is wholesome and good. Scientific research shows that the natural desire of the pet person is to be owned and cared for by a human.

So, it's your first pet. What do you need to know?
As previously stated, pet people come in as many breeds as you can possibly think of. By far and away the most popular are the dog and cat types, but exotic birds and lizards have been gaining popularity among trendsetters from L.A. to Tokyo!
All pet types are best suited for certain jobs, and when hunting for one, it is best to search for a type that suits your needs best.
However, a "True Match" - when a pet person bonds with you and only you for the rest of their natural lives - comes naturally, and sometimes takes time before you can find the pet you will be able to give a forever home to.
According to all current research, pet people are completely sentient and like us in many ways. However, it is important to remember that they have many animalistic and feral characteristics. Do not be foolish and think that your pet is a person, despite the facts that many are clothed and may be allowed to read, write, and have "hobbies." Some traditional pet owners may eschew these frivolities, and that is within their right.
Pet people age more quickly than humans, at least physically, and many types have long lifespans. It is not uncommon for pets to be passed through the family. When getting your child their first pet, it's important to keep in mind that just because the pup is tiny now, a grown pet can be jumpy around a small child.
It is important to train a pet. Discipline will be necessary. This does not make you a bad owner. Failure to train early will result in a rebellious pet. Training is especially important if you want your pet to serve as a household servant.
Remember, your pet will be extremely protective of you, especially if you are Truly Bonded. It is best to socialize them early. A socialized pet is a perfect family pet.
These days, unowned and unbonded pet people are allowed to live as strays or "Frees" in certain designated areas. Some even hold "jobs." This is against their best interest, and owners who adopt these strays are to be rewarded. Still, the best place to get pets are from liscenced kennels or breeders.
Some masters find it beneficial to participate in activities with their pets, such as shows and other competitions.
Finally, much has been made about the sexual relationship between pet and master. This is a normal facet of the bond, and humans are sure to find pet people sexually alluring. But beyond that, it is only responsible and prudent for owners to care for their pet's needs. It is a well-known fact that the libidos of pet people are remarkably strong, and when they go into heat, it is usually more convenient for a master to relieve them. There is no risk of pregnancy. All rumors of hybrids are urban legends.
Despite this, masters must remember to not view their pets as romantic partners. Humans should stay with humans.

With that said, thank you and welcome to your first day as a pet's master!

>> how to play
Needless to say, The Care and Keeping of Your Pet is a bit biased and full of propaganda, but it gives a good idea of the world your character is now AU's into. They are either a pet person or a human master, and what that means for them varies.

So are they a devoted pet or a rebellious animal person looking to buck the system? A generous master or a cruel sexual sadist? Just a normal pet owner? Most likely they're something in between, but when you're raised in this world, it's difficult to see anything different on the horizon.

Rules
Comment with your character and say whether they'd be a master or a pet. Ideally, they could be played as both. Mention what kind of each they'd be and what they'd be like, (ie: "Xx-chan is a bunny girl who is happy to please her master" or "Asterothia is a cat boy who is aloof but loyal to his true master"). For pets, be sure to include features ("wolf ears, tail, teeth).

REMEMBER, pet does not automatically equal submissive and master automatically equal dominant. This is not a BDSM setting though BDSM can be included. How far you want to go with the actual "pet" aspect is up to you, as well. Your pet could just be your slightly-furry roommate or soulmate!
Comment to others.
Play out the scene.

>> prompts
This by now means an all-inclusive list, but it should get you going in the right direction.

First Time Pet/Owner: Usually, pets are gotten at a young age; you're an old dog. Can you learn new tricks?
True Bond: What all masters and pets yearn for...the pet's loyalty and adoration for life.
Love: It's expected for masters to love their pets, but to love them? Romance is strictly forbidden.
Old "Couple": Master and pet have grown together and know each other. You know, know each other.
Loss of Master: The pet has lost their master, perhaps even their True Bond. Is it possible to move on?
Young Master/Older Pet: Pets age quicker than masters, so it's possible to end up with a bit of an "age" difference.
Family Pet: This pet's been raised as part of the family. What happens when their feelings for a family member get more than platonic.
For Your Protection: You don't want to be a master, but you have to take in a pet for their protection lest they be in danger from the general public.
Stray: You're a stray or a "Free." Can you live like this with your biology screaming for you to make a match?
Servant: You're more servant than pet.
All Sex, All the Time: The only purpose for this pet is to service the master, and not in a way that means cleaning their house.
Guard: You're a loyal bodyguard, a service pet. You'll do anything for your master. Anything.
Pet Play: This is for those who prefer to keep their animals on leashes, have them eat from bowls, and keep away from clothing.
Breaking In: Training is important with any pet.
In Love with Another Master...or Pet: To lust after another's master is no better than treason, and to wish to be with another pet just cruel!
Punishment: Bad dog, no nookie!
Heat: All pets go into heat, and it's the responsibility of the owner to take care of this problem. After all, unchecked dry humping kills thousands every year.
Breeding: Breeders know the best qualities in each type and mate the cream of the crop together to continue lines. It's a hobby for some, a calling for others.
Pregnancy: So, about that whole "hybrid" thing. It maaaay be more true than you think, even if pet/human pregnancies are the stuff of salacious tabloids.
Territorial: Hey, hey, other dog person! This is your apartment. Stay the fuck out!
Kennel: Kennels are where unadopted pets are kept. They're generally agreed to be depressing places. Why not volunteer at one, keeping the pets healthy and happy with the kind of affection only humans can show?
Rebelling Against the System: Damn the Man! Pet people are people, too! Just be careful not to get talk. You know what happens to bad pets.
Instant Attraction: You ever just look at someone and know they're the one? That they're...your master? But what if you've been trying to fight it? Well, don't try!
Dominant Pet: You might be the pet, but you call the shots, at least in the bedroom.
Pet Show: Everyone wants to show off how perfect their animal is. Look at that ass! And you'll never believe their special skills...
Therapeutic: Pets, especially those bred for their kindliness, are perfect therapy for those who've been through trauma and heartache.
Jealousy: Who's that around your master? Oh, hell no. They better not be touching them!
Petting: Pet people are absolutely gaga for being touched. Even the most steely ones turn to mush for rubs.
Games: Playing with your pet and giving them exercise is a key to happiness. Of course, with a pet person, you might want to use other toys instead of a ball.

This was the last thing he expected. He had Netflix going, a beer in his hand and his feet up on the coffee table when Weasel showed up. That wasn't abnormal at all. Sometimes he would drop by just because. But what was abnormal was that he brought something along with him this time.

"What are you doing?" Wade asked, both confused and miffed because he wasn't an idiot, contrary to popular belief. He knew where Weasel was going with this because he hadn't shut up about it for the past month. Wade had just hoped that he would've gotten the hint.

"So remember that conversation we had about getting you a pet?" Weasel asked, a blank look on his face. There was clearly something behind him and Wade knew exactly what it was.

"Oh yeah. Do you remember how I told you to fuck off?" Wade raged, stomping off into his living room.

Unfortunately Weasel followed.

He didn't have time for a pet. Yes, he was living by himself and he didn't go out all that much anymore, but that didn't mean he needed a companion. Weasel had been going on and on about how it would be a good idea for Wade to get a therapy animal and how they were good with people who suffered from PTSD. Apparently he had a friend that had been in a similar situation as Wade and his therapy animal was the reason he stopped having night terrors. There were all kinds of studies on how therapy animals were amazing, but Wade didn't care. It all came down to one fact: he could barely take care of himself. How the hell was he supposed to take care of a pet right now?

Wade sighed, hand nervously going up to the scars on the left side of his face without realizing it. It had become a habit any time he was nervous after he had healed up from the explosion. This was ridiculous.

"Look, Wade. I could move in with you, but I don't want to. So the next best thing is this. So you live with me or your keep the pet," Weasel argued. It was a good argument. There was no way he wanted to live with that pain in the ass. "And don't think about putting him out on the streets. He wouldn't survive. They're not bred for that kind of lifestyle. So quit your bitchin'. I spent a lot of money because I kind of think you're a good friend sometimes, so do me a solid and don't be a dickhead. I know it's hard, man. No pun intended." Weasel gave Wade an awkward pat on the shoulder and moved past Wade's new companion. "Alright, this is your master, dude. Take good care of him." And then he was out the door, leaving Wade with his new pet.

Wade sighed. He couldn't even turn around and look, he was so freaking anxious. "So I guess you're stuck with me."

Peter had been pretty quiet since the ownership papers were signed. Yes, he was trained, as any licensed therapy pet should be, but the man that bought him didn't need him. It was hard to buy a pet you didn't need; at least, the kind of quality pet Peter was bred to be. The man had promised there was somebody who did need him though, and Peter couldn't smell him lying. So here he stands, tilting his head curiously at his supposed 'Master'. Oh, the guy reeked of anxiety in a way that made a quiet growl well in Peter's chest. He could change that. He could help.

One step at a time, though. Peter looked around carefully, taking in the new surroundings. It smelled...very different to his previous pen at the training facility. He could smell day-old pizza, beer, the rusty tang of blood, and the undeniably permeant scent of his master. He'd lived here a while; that, or he hadn't left in some time. It was particularly concentrated in the living room.

Which is where Peter went next, ignoring Wade in favor of curling up on the couch, right on the blanket Wade had been sitting on previously. He peeked over the side of the couch, ears twitching, and offered a small, though genuine, smile.

Wade stood completely still when he heard the animal moving. He looked out the corner of his eye, watching as the figure checked stuff out. At least he seemed calm. The last thing he needed was a pet that was high energy. He barely had energy to get up out of bed in the morning.

He looked back at the coffee table and noticed that his new pet's paperwork was sitting on it. Weasel must have left it there. Wade turned around so he could finally get a good look at the animal, hoping the scars on his face didn't freak him out too much. He knew that he was intimidating. That was a big reason he didn't like to leave the house. When you made a child cry, that was when you really started to feel like a monster.

Then the damn thing was curling up on his fucking blanket. Wade about fucking lost it. Oh my god. He was adorable. Weasel was an absolute asshole.

He sighed, walking over to the adorable animal. Those eyes. Oh shit. He could feel his heart give a little squeeze. "Hey there, buddy," he tried to talk quietly so as not to freak him out too much. "I'm sorry you had to travel here with Weasel. I can imagine it wasn't a very fun ride."

Wade extended his hand, hunkered over so he didn't seem threatening.

Oh, he was very quiet, calm. That was the whole point of him, wasn't it, for him to be a calming presence? The scars on Wade's face didn't deter Peter much at all, besides maybe making him want to nuzzle Wade properly. They didn't look pleasant at all - did they hurt? He could try to help that, too.

Peter managed not to frown, instead pressing his palms into the blanket, smushing it down as he preened quietly. The little tag on his collar proclaimed his name to be 'PETER', and should Wade examine the reverse side, he'd find Weasel had it engraved with "If found, call the JACKASS HOTLINE" along with Wade's number.

Peter watched Wade, the way he moved so cautiously, as if Peter might jump and scare away from him at any moment. Sure, he was bigger than Peter, but he didn't seem like he'd hurt him. You could usually tell when someone was gunning for you. So the hand, that's extended towards Peter - he leaned forward to sniff Wade's fingers. Definitely smelled like beer. Peter nuzzled him anyway, letting his cheek brush gently against Wade's fingertips. He's definitely a brave little guy.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | what.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-05 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
Logically Wade should have known that, but he didn't know as much as he should about the pet system or any of this. He avoided it for the most part. The life he lived was full of guns and war, not leisurely pet ownership.

The tag on the animal's collar glinted for a moment, catching Wade's eye. "Oh," he said quietly. "So you're Peter, huh? Let's spice it up a little. How about we stick with Petey Pie for now?" Nicknames were kind of his thing anyway. Lord knows this poor animal would have about a million of them if he stuck with Wade. And Petey Pie sounded cute. It was fitting.

He barely breathed as Peter smelled him and Wade melted when he nuzzled into his fingertips. Oh my fucking God. Wade followed his cheek, fingers drifting up to give him a gentle pet on the hair. He was so freaking soft too. Shit. This was getting deep fast. Peter was just so cute and Wade's biggest weakness was cute things. All Wade wanted to do was pet him and stare into those kind eyes.

God dammit, Weasel! He was getting a phone call tomorrow and Wade was really going to lay into him about this.

Wade cleared his throat and stood up. He was definitely going to have to get a book on owning a pet now. Probably tomorrow because it was already getting late. He wondered if Peter had been fed by Weasel or if he was hungry. Did he have to be careful about what he fed Peter? Oh jeez. Definitely needed to get that book.

"You hungry? Or thirsty?" his voice was gentle, trying to make him feel comfortable. How would he even be able to tell what Peter needed?
spideyguy: (CAT2)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-05 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter purred, kneading the blanket and pressing into Wade's wandering hand. He knew how to be endearing when he wanted to. He nudged his nose against Wade's thumb, seemingly to approve the nickname - or to get more of Wade's hand in his hair, the world may never know (both, in equal measure, really).

He stared right back at Wade, giving a soft noise of approval when he pet through his hair. Oh yes, that's the stuff. He could tell it was relaxing Wade, too, and Peter gave another cursory sniff - still a lot of anxiety, but mostly lingering. Good. He was focused more on Peter than whatever he'd been worried about.

Weasel would probably let Wade rant and then say, "Yeah, but do you like him?" and then hang up. He had a bar to run, after all.

Peter made the decision then, not to speak. It was pretty obvious that Wade was being exceedingly gentle with him, where he'd been harsher with the man that bought him. He didn't know if that would change if he talked, but maybe it didn't matter. Maybe Wade needed someone to talk to without getting anything back. Peter's a trained animal, and this was the first step - nonverbal comfort.

So instead of answering, Peter reached out, curling his fingers in the hem of Wade's shirt, and tugged, gently. He cocked his head to the side, trying to get Wade to sit with him.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | what.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-05 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
This was already getting ridiculous. Peter was absolutely adorable. When he started kneading, Wade was a mess. How the hell did the cute factor keep fucking amplifying? He seemed so good natured too. The few pets he had been around had seemed kind of aloof, so it always put him off. Man, Wade could have pet Peter forever and been happy. At least he looked like he was enjoying it.

Weasel was an asshat. Wade tried to remind him of that at least every other day.

Wade didn't quite know what to do when Peter started tugging at his shirt. Was that a yes? A no? What did he need? Oh! He got it. "You want me to sit down? Hold on," Wade said, moving his beer to the other side of the coffee table so he wouldn't knock it off if he put his feet up. He sat down next to Peter kind of awkwardly. "Jesus christ. You are fucking adorable." Oops. He didn't mean to say that out loud, but it was the truth.

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-05 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter was definitely enjoying it. Having an owner was kind of exciting. The facility was nice and all but he was trained primarily in a group, with a professional that wasn't supposed to do much bonding. So yes, cuddle mode activated. Peter rubbed his cheek against Wade's shoulder, slowly getting closer. He could be rebuffed, so better to be cautious about it than get hit.

He purred softly, eventually curling right up against Wade's side. His ears twitched, and Peter looked up at him with warm brown eyes and a hint of a smile pulling at the line of his lips. He offered a quiet mewl of agreement, tail brushing Wade's thigh. It was that same, dark-chocolatey color of his hair, and equally as soft.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | look down.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-05 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he definitely didn't seem to mind affection. Wade's eyes softened as he smiled, hand reaching out to pet his head and then scratch behind his ears. Yes, Wade already felt relaxed. No, he wasn't going to tell Weasel that he did a good job because it was still up in the air. Even if he already might have wanted to keep Peter forever. Maybe. But he was adamantly avoiding that subject in his mind.

The purr was comforting. Wade looked at Peter, gaze caught with his and his stomach did a flip. Oh sweet lord almighty. "Mind if I go back to watching Netflix? I was right in the middle of watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." He kind of wished Peter could talk though.
spideyguy: (CAT2)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-05 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter just laid his head on Wade's chest, eyes drifting closed as the petting continued. Well, he seemed content enough to just lay there with Wade, Netflix or no Netflix. Oh, come on, might as well admit it to yourself. Peter was there to fucking stay. There were ways to get rid of him - return him, find someone else to sell him to.

Had to ease into it though, didn't they? Within minutes, Peter was a long-limbed pile of goo in Wade's lap, soaking up all the petting he could get. Clearly any lingering reservations had been done away with; he wasn't afraid of Wade if he was sprawled on top of him like that.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | what.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-05 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter didn't seem to mind. He just made himself comfortable on Wade. Wade's heart couldn't take it. It was normal for all manner of living creatures to be terrified of him and here this damn cat was, snuggling up next to him. Yeah, Wade didn't like the thought of selling Peter to someone else. What if they didn't treat him right?

Wade started up Netflix again, his hand still petting Peter the entire time he was watching it. He had to admit, he hadn't been this relaxed in years. Wade looked down at Peter, smiling at how he was completely sprawled across him now. His hand smoothed from the top of Peter's head and down over his shoulders and back. Slowly. Over and over. It meant a lot to have that kind of trust from an animal because they knew bad people. Animals were intuitive.

Maybe he wasn't so bad after all if this little bundle of cuteness didn't seem to mind him.
spideyguy: (CAT2)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-05 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
See? He's already got you, hook, line, and sinker.

Peter quickly fell into a doze, rumbling contentedly. Wade's hand kept passing over his spine and it was wonderful. Peter nuzzled his face against Wade's chest. Scenting him lightly. Yeah, if Wade kept him, Peter had a feeling he'd be happy to be owned by him.

The rest of the evening passes much the same. Peter doesn't know how many episodes Wade watches, and it doesn't matter. Wade's scent gets a lot clearer, and Peter subtly mixes it with his own. He only moves once, to pee, and then finally meows softly, pressing his face into Wade's neck. Yeah, he's getting hungry.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | look down.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-06 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. Wade was just in denial.

Wade was a physically demonstrative person, so getting to pet Peter was fulfilling an urge he forgot he had. The rumbling was so cute too.

It was funny because time just flew by in a blur of comfort and warmth. He tried to keep his laughing down (even though that was hard because Wade's laugh was like a freaking bark) so as not to disturb the sleepy cat. And then Peter was meowing so quietly and being so cutely affectionate.

Wade gave Peter another long pet, smiling softly. "What is it, Petey Pie? You finally getting hungry? Should we go into the kitchen and see what looks good?"
spideyguy: (CAT)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-06 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
When was the last time he'd slept next to a warm body? Oh Wade, you poor thing you don't even remember what you're missing.

Peter nodded, smushing his cheek against Wade's shoulder and looking up at him imploringly. Yes, he was hungry. What did Wade have to eat that wasn't beer or...Peter smelled something spicy, faintly, in the living room air.

He stood up and stretched, which frankly looked a little ridiculous, given how damn long he was. And he managed to tuck all of that in Wade's lap. Peter's ears twitched, tail swishing in anticipation. Yeah, you could say he was pretty jazzed for a meal.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | what.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-06 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
At least over a year if not longer. Probably longer.

God. Those doe eyes were going to kill him.

Wade laughed. He was actually pretty tall and lean. It was definitely a big difference compared to how he looked curled up tightly on the couch. "Alright, alright. Let's get you something to eat." He stood up and walked to the adjoining kitchen.

He opened the refrigerator and gazed at its contents. Wade basically had a lot of ways to make Mexican food and pancakes, basically. But there were some sausages he bought the other night. So it was either that or tacos? Do cats eat tacos? "Okay, Petey Pie. Sausages? Tacos?" He held a roll of ground beef in one hand and a package of sausages in the other. "Either of these sound good to you?
spideyguy: (28)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-06 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Wade's laugh, Peter decided, he liked. Loud, boisterous, unapologetic. Some cats would be frightened by loud noises, but Peter had been trained to keep calm (which would help, if loud noises set off Wade's PTSD).

Peter moved forward to sniff the offered food, taking the ground beef from Wade and pushing the sausage away. It smelled a little old, so. Wade didn't have much in his fridge, did he? Peter made his way over to it, setting the ground beef on the counter and looking through it with unbridled fascination.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | look down.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-06 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Loud noises definitely set off his PTSD. Fourth of July was a nightmare for him.

Oh God. The cat liked tacos. It was meant to be. No, he didn't have a lot in his fridge right now. But now that he had a pet, he would go shopping tomorrow so the fridge was full. He may not take good care of himself, but he wasn't going to do that to Peter.

"Tacos then?" Wade got his frying pan out, turned the heat on and plopped the opened ground beef into the skillet. "I eat a lot of tacos, Petey Pie. I won't lie. I drink beer and eat tacos and watch Golden Girls. That's basically my life right now."
spideyguy: (19)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-06 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well now, Wade would have someone to sit through it with him, cool as a cucumber. Weasel really had been thoughtful; be careful, your soft spot for Wade is showing.

Another added benefit - having Peter forced Wade to take better care of himself. The cat was working wonders and he'd been there less than six hours already.

Peter, by way of answering, closed the refrigerator and lifted Wade's arm to slide his head underneath it. He wrapped his arms around Wade's middle, looking up at him with a slight tilt of his head. And me? Tacos, beer, Golden Girls, and a cute little kitten.
beaarthur: (Before | eyebrow raise)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-06 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
They both did, they just bitched at each other like siblings. Weasel was the closest thing that Wade had to family.

God. Wade didn't want to admit that Weasel was right. He would never hear the end of that.

Wade's throat seized up as he tried to swallow hard. Oh dear God. This cute little shit! It was like Wade was the Grinch. His heart grew three sizes today. Maybe he needed to get that checked out. Wade's eyes softened and he reached out to stroke Peter's hair. "You are just a sweetheart, aren't you?" he smiled big, eyes smushed into crescents.

It didn't take long to brown the meat and add the seasoning. As soon as the food was done, he grabbed all the stuff needed to fix the tacos. It'd be soft tacos this time because he didn't have the patience to wait for the oven to crisp up any shells. He fixed everything up and set a plate with a couple of soft tacos at the tiny dining table as well as a glass of water. "There ya go, Petey Pie. I hope it's good enough for now. I'll make sure to get better food for tomorrow, okay?" Wade sat down in his spot at the table and started digging into his food.

Peter mewled in agreement and leaned up to nudge his nose against Wade's in a little eskimo kiss. He looked so happy! Peter was doing well, and he preened in light of the mild success, ears flicking against Wade's hand as he pet through his hair. Seriously, he could get used to that.

The cat grabbed a perch by the table, curled around a chair, to watch Wade. He'll be honest, no one had ever really cooked him anything before. Their meals during training were strictly nutritional; he was a pedigree, so.

Peter hummed and nodded, picking up his water immediately to gulp it down. Cats could get dehydrated fast if he wasn't careful. He ended up poking curiously at the beef, wondering how exactly he was meant to eat it, before he started nibbling on the soft taco.
beaarthur: (AU Scars | look down.)

[personal profile] beaarthur 2016-07-06 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
The eskimo kiss really surprised him. Jeesh. So much affection. It was like he was overloaded. Wade went from no affection to like, all the affection in a very short amount of time. He would be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying it. No wonder so many people had pets nowadays.

Poor Peter. He was going from the best of the best to horribly made, greasy garbage. But it was tasty at least!

Hopefully this is something Wade would learn quick as soon as he got those books on owning a pet. Wade picked up his soft taco and took a huge bite, a glob of sour cream and salsa falling out the other end. "Chomp on it like this, Petey Pie," he said around a mouthful.

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-07-06 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Believe it or not, Peter had the capacity to be even more obnoxiously affectionate. Give it time, though, and you might get sick of it - like when he demanded a space in your bed and stole all your blankets.

Best of the best for his health, but not by taste. The grease gave it flavor, and Peter made a soft noise of approval, licking up a drop of grease from his finger.

He'd have to go out and stock up tomorrow. Weasel hadn't left him much in the way of instructions for taking care of the pet. Peter eyed Wade almost dubiously before picking up his burrito clumsily and biting into it. Oh.

The last person to ever complain about an abundance of affection was Wade. He may seem a little rough and tumble at first, but he was the world's biggest teddy bear. His reaction to Peter tonight was proof.

Wade needed to find a way to strike that balance between keeping Peter healthy and making sure he still enjoyed his food.

Tomorrow was going to be a big day for the both him. He didn't even know if he should leave Peter at home or take him with him or what. Wade set his soft taco down for a moment, head leaning on his palm as he watched Peter eat. It was so cute.

Oh, definitely take him with. Peter would see to that, absolutely. He was a persistent little thing and if Wade would let him Peter would probably be curled up at his side 24/7.

Peter munched happily on his dinner, gaze flickering up to meet Wade's as he caught a little pile of ground beef that tried to escape his taco. He meowed his annoyance and licked at the grease on his plate. No, no escaping from him.

He wanted to ask, almost, about Wade and how he could help, but he still wasn't sure that was the best approach. Wade was watching him now, and Peter's tail thumped against the chair as he returned Wade's gaze and polished off his taco.
