Will this be "Children of the Corn"? 2. TRUCK STOP You've stopped at a gas station. They're out of gas, snacks and the bathrooms are out of order. Wat do. (Zombie attack optional.) 3. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Why is their backpack leaking suspicious substances? Go wild. 4. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... or I think that was a deer. 5. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND! Alas, you're the parent or the disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. 6. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it. 7. THE GREAT ESCAPE Either dinosaurs or the mothman is chasing you. Don't stop now. 8. MAKE OUT~ You're now parked in one of the make-out points in this town. Did you know? Well, that's up to you, as is what you do next. 9. WE'RE SO LOST The map blew away when you were stupid enough to open the windows earlier. You know that old stereotype about how men never ask for directions but women will? Time to see if you're going to prove it right or not. Try not to fight over it too much, driving partners. 10. BUT OFFICER... Those flashing lights in your rearview mirror? Definitely not just for decoration. Relationship (optional): 1. BUSINESS PARTNERS: The jet was undergoing some heavy repairs, so you have to drive to that big meeting. 2. BFFS/ROOMIES: On your last hurrah before you join the 'real world.' 3. NEWLYWEDS: You're a young couple on your honeymoon! Hope this doesn't ruin your relationship. 4. SIBLINGS: Whether this is a trip to reconnect or to fix things or to just deepen your bond as epic sibs is up to you. 5. "Shall we go back and see them up close?" He asked, already preparing to turn the car around. It was easy enough to do on the back roads, and even if they pulled to the shoulder across the road from the flowers, it wasn't as if they were in any danger of being run over while crossing.

[adamos]

Can we? [His expression just screams excitement. He'd really love to go back and take a closer look at the flowers.]

If that's okay, I'd like to! [To others there may not be much entertainment value in looking at flowers, but to him, it's wonderful.] ... You won't get bored...?

[Of course though, as much as he'd like to take a closer look, he's also concerned for his companion. He doesn't want Thor to get bored, since they're both supposed to enjoy the trip.]

[petrichorian]

He laughed warmly as he swung the car around, "No, not unless you plan on staying there all night." And even then he wouldn't really be bored, he'd slept outside plenty of times, though more often at home than on Midgard.

He pulled off to the side of the road across from the field of wildflowers, cutting the engine, "Shall we?"

[adamos]

I won't. [Though he wants to stay for a little while at least.]

Yeah! [Once the car is stopped, Adamo almost can't get out quick enough, near falling out of the car, and once he's out, he hurries across the street and crouches down by the flowers.] So pretty...!

[petrichorian]

Thor smiled again, following at a more sedate pace. He, likewise, stopped at the edge of the field, hands in his pockets, just surveying the scope of it. The flowers even trailed off a way into the scrubby woodland that edged the road in this area. Likely they were doing so well here because of the break in the trees allowing for sunlight to get to them.

In surveying the field, small as it was, he found what he was looking for, a fallen tree, nearly buried in the flowers now. He pointed it out, "Look, there. Probably felled in a storm some time ago, gave the flowers a chance to take in sunlight and so they spread."

[adamos]

[Adamo looks and then smiles brightly. Nature is kind of amazing.]

Isn't it awesome? Flowers and trees and plants are great!

[He reaches to feel the ground where the flowers are growing. The soil is moist, and seems perfect for growing things.] I'm glad I have something in common with them. Though I'm nothing special, unlike them.

His brow furrowed a little at that. He knew, of course, that his companion wasn't Midgardian, not in the usual sense, at least, but that did leave him at something of a loss as to what Adamo actually was.

Which was to say that the only response he had to that statement was: "If you don't know what makes you special, it simply means you haven't found it yet, not that it doesn't exist."

[adamos]

I don't really think so... I'm only one of thousands of my kind... We're all the same, too.

[After all, all the golems Michael created were created to be identical. So he really doesn't believe he's anything special. No different from the rest of the golems.

Of course he is special... He has a personality for one, which is extremely uncommon... He's not just one of the hivemind.]

I wonder if you'd be able to tell me apart from the others...

[It's just a random thought that entered his head... He figures probably not.]

[petrichorian]

"My powers of observation are not that lacking." He replied, though he sounded more amused than offended, "We've been traveling together for this long, and will do so for a while yet. I would be able to pick you out of a crowd."

At least, he thought that he would, as he hadn't yet seen that the others were identical he wouldn't really know for sure.

[adamos]

I'm not sure... [He touches a couple of flowers as he speaks, not looking up at Thor, but seeming more focused on the ground. He looks rather thoughtful.]

Us golems look exactly the same... We have the same eyes, the same hair and the same clothes... Even our creator can't really tell us apart.

[petrichorian]

"How strange." He shook his head, clarifying, "Not that you're the same, though that is strange as well, but that your creator wouldn't want to be able to tell one from the other." Which was the only reason he could think of for doing something like that. It was something he couldn't quite wrap his mind around.

So instead of puzzling over it further he just nodded towards the flowers, "Has anyone taught you how to plait them?"

[adamos]

It's not really that strange. We were created for a very specific purpose... Being able to tell us apart isn't that important. I don't think he likes us that much, anyway.

[Sometimes Adamo gets the feeling that Michael doesn't dislike him quite as much as he dislikes the other, but that's a whole other story all together.

He glances up at the other at the question and then shakes his head.]

Taking them out of the earth when they're growing so well seems cruel somehow... So I don't really want to learn...

[Pause.] Though I wouldn't mind if the flowers were bought, since those are already dying... But as it is, these ones are living brilliantly. Picking them would be wrong.

[petrichorian]

Thor smiled as he crouched beside the other, running his own hands through the flowers and starting to weave them together where they grew, fingers moving more deftly than one would think him capable of from his size, "Plaiting them without plucking them is something we learn on Asgard, usually as children, though there's an art to it, and for certain celebrations there are whole fields of flowers woven and braided into intricate designs."

He shook his head as he continued, "I never took the time to learn the more complicated ones, I always had more important things to do, but I can still show you the basic patterns."

[adamos]

Ohhh...! [He definitely has his attention now. Adamo watches what he's doing with great interest.]

Please do! [It looked pretty. He would definitely like to learn, since it didn't seem to harm the flowers at all, which was a concern of his.]

How do I do it?

[petrichorian]

"Here. If you've ever braided hair, it's easiest to think of it that way. You use the same sort of pattern." He nudged his hands under Adamo's, "Follow what I do."

Mostly it was a case of finding flowers that were close enough together to work their stems together, without breaking them and without bruising the petals, which was the harder part, especially with the thin blue petals they were working with.

[adamos]

I haven't ever braided anyone's hair...

[Adamos generally didn't care, and he doesn't think Michael would ever let him near his hair, so it's kind of difficult for him to do so or have done so.]

Okay.

[He focuses then, following Thor's lead. He's the "expert" of the two after all.]

[petrichorian]

Once he'd gone through the motions a few times with his charge's hands atop his own he slipped his hands away with a nod, "Go on. That cluster." He gestured, "And the next." Another point. The garland so far was a gently looping thing, not quite a spiral and not really a circle, but that was much the point as far as Thor knew.

[adamos]

Yes, sir! [Adamo chimes in pleasantly, before moving to work on the cluster Thor gestured toward, working a tad slowly, but surely none the less. He just doesn't want to mess up, a focused look on his face, concentrated on what he's doing.]

Am I doing it right?

Thor sat back on his heels to watch, perfectly at ease just sitting in a sparse field by the side of the road in what was essentially the middle of nowhere.

There was an easy smile at the question, nodding once, "Aye, seems it. Better than I generally manage, certainly."
