It takes the entire three hours to dig up all the information he has on human food and digestive systems, get a proper meal at least somewhat prepared (he's not sure exactly what tastes are favored by humans, though surely protein is never a wrong choice?), and get all the paths between the docking bay and his personal quarters-- where of course they will be dining-- cleared.
He might nearly prance and skip around for a good portion of this, but shhhh. Don't let him know he's being undignified in front of his crew.
