Bromance 4 lyfe

THE RAD BROMANCE* MEME!
*girls, and all beings of other genders, most definitely count as bros too

A meme for fun people who just want to chill out and embark upon kickass friendship shenanigans.
Leave a comment with character name and canon in the subject, and others will pick a scenario and tag you.
Fun times to be had for all!

1. CHOW TIME:
Food! Everybody loves food. It is the best social lubricant. Cooking it. Burning it. Eating it. Throwing it around! All kinds of food! A picnic, or a diner, or a barbecue, or a swanky restaurant which is going to regret letting you in very soon. The possibilities are endless.

2. SLAM DUNK:
Fuck yeah, sports. Who doesn't love getting all hot and sweaty in the sun? Balls, frisbees, cricket bats! Or, if you'd prefer not to torture yourself with physical exertion, maybe a game of pool is more your style.

3. ROCK N' ROLL:
It's always been your dream to play in a band together! Finally, you are making it happen. You are the most awesome bandmates and you make the best music. You are going to be stars!
(Or not?)

4. GAME NIGHT:
Pawn to d4. Get out of jail free. Colonel Mustard did it in the conservatory with the revolver. Nooo, I told you not to pull that Zenga block out! I warned you, bro.

5. DARES & PRANKS:
Truth…or dare! Or maybe just the lot of you wrecking everybody else's shit. What a bunch of clowns. But face it! It was hilarious. Just maybe not for, uh, that particular guy, who is coming over here, right now, with that look on his face…

6. INTO THE WILD:
For some bizarre reason, you decided to leave your nice, comfy beds behind and camp outside. In the dark. In a tent! Or even just a sleeping bag, under the staaaaars. Don't burn the marshmallows! What was that noise?

7. REV THE ENGINES:
Look at this awesome ride. You'd be happy to take your friends for a spin, of course! Wind in your hair, radio blasting music, the works. Although you would never let them touch the wheel. Nope. This car is your baby (or your parents') and that would be an extremely dumb thing to do!

8. MAKE A SPLASH:
Whether it's an ocean or your backyard or a jungle pool, there's nothing like a good dunk in the water to cool you off! I hope you can swim, because you are going in. Right now!

9. DISNEYLAND!
The smell of cotton candy, the tinny music, the cooling puddle of vomit near the exit to the rollercoaster. It brings you back to when you were ten years old and you thought this was amazing! Or maybe you still do. Who knows. Either way, there are plenty of things to keep a friend or two occupied for a day.

10. SOMETHING ELSE
What? These traditional, sacred bonding activities are dull and cliched? Your friendship is special and you need to do something a little more special? Jeez, what a wet blanket. Kidding! In that case, you are limited only by your own imagination.

Have a rad bromance! :B

Mac's the cook, not me. I've got a mean collection of take-out and delivery menus, though.
1stmacleod: (smile - talking)

:) Love seeing HL people come out of the woodwork!

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"You'll have to learn to cook sooner or later." It's teacher talk, but he could go for Chinese food right now...
immortalbrat: (4)

I was delighted to see Connor - and forgive the icons. Fast job and limited sources.

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well, maybe but can we aim for later? I'm starving." He's Richie. He's always starving. He's also rifling through that very not-metaphorical stack of menus.
1stmacleod: (smile - talking)

I have too many icons. Been plating Connor a few years.

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Connor gives a quiet snort. He is, physically, about the same age as Richie is. He's just learned little tricks like a five o'clock shadow to make himself look older, and he frequently acts older, for obvious reasons. "Sure, you just keep counting on there always being a later..." He rolls his eyes. "I'll pay if you order. I hate the telephone."
immortalbrat: (4)

I played Richie, but it's been long enough to need to fix it.

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Connor acts older, has figured out how to look older, but he's still more 'fun' for Richie than Duncan a lot of the time. Not that he doesn't love Duncan, but a break is a good thing. "No later, no need. Can't eat without a head, can I?"

He grabs one of the menus - for Chineese - and goes to the phone to place the order. Without asking exactly what Connor wants, because between the two of them, and Connor paying, he can get quite the selection brought to the door.
1stmacleod: (smile)

I imagine icon material might be harder for him... fewer good screencaps.

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Richie's come a long way from thinking of him as 'Sir Lancelot', that's for sure.

While he's on the phone, ordering whatever he feels like and assuming -correctly, that Connor will eat it, the older immortal pulls out his wallet and a credit card. He toys with it between his fingers a moment, considers, and then carefully flips it accurately in the direction of Richie's forehead.

Connor does sometimes know how to have fun better than Duncan, although he's not without his moodiness. Unfortunately, he can also be an ass while he's at it.
immortalbrat: (Default)

If I keep him, I'll cap the sucker myself.

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Connor cries less than Mac. At least in front of Richie so far. He'll take it.

Yes, yes he can be. The credit card hits Richie squarely in the forehead, makes him make an undignified squawk and turn toward Connor to glare at him. He does have the sense to pick the thing up, though, as he hangs up.

"What, handing it too me was too easy?"
1stmacleod: (big grin)

Oh please keep him?!!

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Connor's angst tends to result in being snappish and then retreating to isolation. It's just a different kind of moodiness. Duncan grieves, Connor broods. Still, that kind of thing must run in their genetics.

Connor just beams because he's not ashamed at all. It's a brief smile, most of them are, but he seems to feel it will suffice in place of words. He didn't feel like getting up. Richie now has the card to pay for the food. That all worked out just fine, didn't it?
immortalbrat: (4)

I found another HL character! Odds are good.

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe he just needs to alternate between the two of them. Hang out with one until he's fed up, then move to the other, then spend a week in France killing himself on a motorcycle before he starts over.

He rolls his eyes at Connor, hangs up the phone and then goes to flop down beside him, while he waits on the door to arrive. "And people call me a brat."
1stmacleod: (just happy)

There's a lot of Methos...'s? Methii?

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Individually that might work. Getting Connor and Duncan together might be less fun, since they reminisce and bicker and seem to speak their own language.

"Do they?" Connor looks faintly smug. "I'll remember that next time I need something to call you."
immortalbrat: (4)

Methii sounds like something you'd find in middle-earth. Well. If any of them would be....

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
He gives Connor a bit of a bewildered look. "I can't decide if I should protest, or be relieved that you're not calling me something worse...."
1stmacleod: (small smile)

...drinking the dwarves under the table...

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Connor gives a mild shrug, and offers, "If you want me to come up with something...?" Don't tempt him. He'd mean it with affection, of course.
immortalbrat: (Default)

with a really impressive sword!

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Let me guess: Richie's not an option." He's trying not to tempt Connor, but he has to admit there's some degree of amusement in the idea. He can certainly think of some times he'd like an excuse to invent names for all of the MacLeod's. Most of them ridiculous rather than insulting, because all the griping aside... he kind of idolizes the hell out of them. More often than he's grumpy, bitter, and confused.

Richie's odd, okay?
1stmacleod: (yes what?)

...under the table?

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I could settle for 'Kid'. Why'd you start calling Duncan 'Mac'?" Connor doesn't know what's going through Richie's mind, and it's probably for the best he doesn't know how Richie referred to him back when he saw him the first time. "...Beside the obvious, I mean. What's wrong with 'Duncan'?"
immortalbrat: (Default)

*dies* I was thinking Dwarven forged, but yours is better.

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Richie shrugs. "I don't know. Duncan works, but most of the people who call him that are sleeping with him or trying to be, and most of the people who call him MacLeod are trying to chop his head off. Mac seemed like a decent compromise."
1stmacleod: (skeptical)

Couldn't resist, it was just the juxtaposition of lines there...

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Connor makes a face. "I'm not." Granted, the way he says it, with his accent, sounds more like 'Donnchaidh' which is a much older form.

"...What do you call me, behind my back?"
immortalbrat: (4)

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey. Whatever you do's your business, just don't do it where I have to listen to it." ...Sorry, Connor. He gives Connor the most innocent look he can muster. "What do you mean? I call you Connor."
1stmacleod: (warning look)

Have to sleep soon, early work tomorrow...

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Connor kicks at him idly, without much force, and sticks out his tongue at him. Very mature. "Good." He doesn't believe him, but that's okay. He still gave the right answer.
immortalbrat: (Default)

Not a problem!

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
He idly pretends to dodge the kick, eyes Connor sideways for a moment. "Occasionally Lancelot."
1stmacleod: (stare)

Will catch up tomorrow!

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"...What?" For a minute, Richie is under the intense green-grey gaze. Connor can stare like nobody else. The heavy brow helps.

"...What does that make Duncan?" His gaze eases off again. He's decided that's not so bad. Possibly fitting, in some ways, although he never would have dreamed of going after Tessa, if she had been Guinevere, and that would make Duncan...

Yeah, that does kind of fit. Son of the Clan Chieftan and all that.
immortalbrat: (Default)

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Connor's got a great stare - for some meaning of great, anyway. Hawk, wolf, something predatory and intense, anyway.

He freezes when Connor stares, waits it out and relaxes just a bit more when Connor backs off. "Guinevere." He's being a smart ass, but even though it's obvious he doesn't leave it it there. "Arthur, of course."
1stmacleod: (smile - talking)

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-06 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That stare is one of Connor's most effective weapons, honed sharp over hundreds of years with the weight of time. It pairs well with the fact that he's really not a big talker. Duncan is the one who's good with words.

Connor smirks quietly, mulling all this over now. "...Does he know?"
immortalbrat: (Default)

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-06 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"That I call him a girl? Probably." Richie's joking, still, apparently not quite comfortable with more serious conversation and covering, just a bit. Except the real one is still under there. "Not the Arthur or Lancelot thing, no."
1stmacleod: (Hey there)

[personal profile] 1stmacleod 2013-02-07 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
"...Yeah, better to save it for an opportune moment." That right there should explain a lot about the way Connor thinks.
immortalbrat: (Default)

[personal profile] immortalbrat 2013-02-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
It says a lot, even to Richie. He quirks a crooked smile and gives Connor just a bit of a bemused look. "What's the opportune moment for that? Unless I catch him pulling a sword out of a stone, or something?"
