... Why?
174awhile: (I saw this one coming)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to be more specific. I can't read minds here.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly... Why did you do it?

Get involved with a human?

... a horridly hollow and desperate one at that...

174awhile: (risking failure)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Bella is neither of those things and I'll thank you not to insult her in my presence again. I won't stand for it.

Besides, if anyone is hollow and desperate, it's me. I couldn't stay away from her. I wasn't strong enough. That's all there is to it.

Vegan it up all you want. I'd still probably destroy vampires if they were in my area. Much as I'd like to bond on the whole "not human" thing, I've got too many human friends to let a bunch of predators with uncontrollable blood-lust roam around.
174awhile: (because you always pay for it)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand your concerns. We're very good at what we do but to say we have complete control would be a lie. We're still dangerous and you're wise to view us as such.

The Quileutes were able to trust us—the proof in our eyes—enough to form a treaty, to let us live in peace, but I'm not surprised to hear they'd be the exception to the rule. Although, as they are our "natural born" enemies, they're capable of holding their own against us. I'm not sure I could say the same for you. Vampires are nearly impossible to kill.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess you could say I'm a more "true" werewolf. I'm not even sure there are any of my kind left, so I least envy that much about those shapeshifters. We're also an actual species, not some messed up disease or curse.

As for death, I've tried enough times to know it's hard. Personally, if anything was like me, total physical destruction is always the best bet.
174awhile: (vintagely constructed)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
In what sense? Do you change form with the moon? You don't seem like a "true" werewolf, craving companionship as you do... I wouldn't go so far as to say the Quileutes are diseased. Cursed might be more apt, however, depending on how you look at it.

... Are you insinuating that you've attempted to kill yourself?

[personal profile] last_wolf 2012-12-27 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The moon thing is true. I think that's pretty much a part of the whole package, no matter where you're from. For one thing, I don't turn into a rampaging animal when I change. I'm perfectly in control of it, and I sure as HELL don't hunt people. I can't imagine a wolf that ISN'T social, were or not.

Maybe the problem is that all your werewolf research was done by their worst enemies.

A few times. Didn't much take. Then again, I've never lost my head.
174awhile: ('cause I need your sway)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. It's difficult to say, with so many variations across the board. But to retain your senses, with no urges to hunt... That's vastly different from the Children of the Moon. I envy you that, if nothing else.

We know very little about true werewolves. They were driven to near extinction due to the threat they possessed to my kind. It makes me wonder how you would fair against us, with your advantage of retaining your self-awareness.

I'm not sure I understand. Would it be terribly callous of me to press for more details?

[personal profile] last_wolf 2012-12-27 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't know, really. I know when I'm changed, I can shot-put a sports car down a city block. I've never really had to test it, since I'm surrounded by humans and don't see much point to fighting them.

I used to goad whole gangs to try and kill me, just to see what they'd do. I've fallen off skyscrapers, been smashed by large vehicles, burned alive, electrocuted. Worst I ever did was fall unconscious for a second.

Don't have that weird, solid-yet-not body that you guys have, though. The mun still can't figure out how THAT works. I just have very dense body tissues.

Is animal blood really satisfying? Not being snarky, I genuinely need to know.
vampireboy: (ruka-mirror)

[personal profile] vampireboy 2012-12-27 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I'm also a vampire who doesn't want to drink human blood.
174awhile: (diamond diamond)

oh boy

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Why don't you give it a try and see for yourself? I'd be more than happy to accompany you on a hunt—it helps being surrounded by like-minded individuals, to keep your focus on the intended prey. Because, truthfully, it does take some getting used to.
vampireboy: (ruka-hood smile)

Thanks for indulging him

[personal profile] vampireboy 2012-12-27 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I might take you up on that. I can't tell my ... maker about it, though. He goes a little nuts when I try to avoid the human blood he brings home for me (in bags, from donations. There's a 'vampire groupie' bunch of humans who get kicks by donating.) I have really good self-control, so I haven't tried to attack anyone for a while, but if I could eat from animals instead, I wouldn't feel like I'm so much a danger to others.
174awhile: (how can they hear me)

pssh I'm happy to! <3

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Whenever you'd be able to do it, then. It sounds like he means well, in his own way. And it sounds like you'd transition well. Although you must never get complacent. Our kind is always a danger to humans, regardless of our diet.
vampireboy: (ruka-intense)

[personal profile] vampireboy 2012-12-28 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard to tell with Kaito. He made me because he wanted a companion, not because he felt sorry for a dying boy. He ignored my desire to turn to fog rather than consume human blood and force-fed it to me. I have no doubts he would try to stop me from hunting with you.

I'll go anytime it's convenient for you. I'm always carrying plum juice -- the iron in it keeps me from going rabid-hungry for a while -- so I'll bring it with me until I'm able to learn how to catch game.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Mitt Romney the real leader of your clan?
174awhile: (and if they don't believe me now)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to my knowledge.

What lead you to suspect such a thing?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he's obviously a vampire.

And there's strong reason to believe your clan is Mormon.
174awhile: (how can they hear me)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-27 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure who should feel more insulted by that accusation, Mitt Romney or myself.

Joking aside, other than Carlisle, none of us are particularly religious, regardless of whatever characteristics we may share with Mormonism. Even if we identified ourselves as Mormons, that wouldn't equate to us being in cohorts with a Mormon political figure. It wouldn't make sense. We don't belong in human politics.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Mitt Romney doesn't belong in human politics either, but you don't see that stopping him.

No offense meant, of course. You just seem... really, really, really Mormon. Have a beer sometime like us normal folk.

... Or, y'know, a human, or whatever passes for normal when you're a vampire.
174awhile: (run away with you)

[personal profile] 174awhile 2012-12-28 12:04 am (UTC)(link)

And none taken. ... I'm sorry, are you actually insinuating that drinking beer is akin to drinking human blood?
