I've started a florist's

420 MEME

Once a year it approaches, the Dankest of Days: April 20th. “ The code first came about in the fall of 1971 because the Waldos planned to meet at a statue of Louis Pasteur at the school at 4:20 before they went on an expedition to score some free weed from a plot of marijuana plants abandoned by a Coast Guard service member,” reports Techtimes, which goes onto thank the Grateful Dead for popularizing the term.

However it truly got its connotation, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t associate 420 with our good old friend, pot.

Whether your characters light up at the leisure of a green medical card or they kick back on Wednesdays with their plug, you’re here cos you want to play your characters smoking.

And hey, if you partake along with them, we’re not judging.

BUT THE FUCK IS A WEED THO
information referenced from https://www.leafly.com

INDICA: “ The high from a quality indica strain leaves you relaxed and social. The stronger varieties will numb your body and put you to sleep. Great for relaxation, stress relief, and couchlock.”

SATIVA: “The high from sativa strains are often described as uplifting and energetic. These are great for daytime use and a favorite for medicinal users because of the pain relief properties.”

HYBRIDS: “Hybrid cannabis strains provide the best of both worlds. Expert breeders select the top sativa and indica strains and combine them into super strains that maintain the best aspects from both parents. Hybrids can be sativa or indica dominant and have the effects to match.”

WHAT EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE, AND WHAT ELSE CAN YOU USE IT FOR??

  • anxious—
don’t forget, sometimes cannabis can cause anxiety reactions… Is your character fighting anxiety or getting into it?

  • aroused
yep, you even have a smut option

  • creative

  • energetic

  • euphoric

  • focused

  • giggly

  • happy

  • hungry

  • relaxed

  • sleepy

  • talkative

  • tingly

  • uplifted

  • fight fatigue, cancer, migraines, depression, anxiety, pain, and PTSD

  • stay on task

  • and finally, fuckin party.

  • That’s right— there’s no shame in kicking back and getting recreational— after all. Have a weed smoking party, visit your dark therapist, grab some edibles at the dispensary, or check out your local college campus.

Theoretically. Have fun! And uh, try not to get caught doing anything illegal.

Sasuke looks up when someone steps in and, as is his custom, gives the new arrival a quick once-over before making and maintaining eye contact. (His friends keep trying to tell him this is what intimidates people, but it's second-nature by now and at this moment he's not in a place to prioritize other people's comfort or discomfort. At least he manages not to outright glare.)

Despite this being his first finger of weed, Sasuke holds it like he's comfortable with it (like he knows what he's doing), and he manages to look completely at-ease and confident, in command of the room.

He's gotten good at that, even with the alarms blaring in his head about strangers being around him while he smokes. (That was the whole point of this operation, though... seeing if this can get him relaxed enough not to be completely tense around the other tenants in what should be a completely normal situation. Sasuke remains dubious.)

He blinks, though, at that "conversation starter." It actually does ease Sasuke when the other person is more overtly anxious than he is, so...

"Is there something you wanted?" One hit isn't going to make him any better at small talk, though.

Bloody hell, that stare makes Yurick feel like a live butterfly pinned through its body to a card, all helpless flutters and slowly dying inside. His face feels numb and his mouth quickly starts drying up.

"I-- I just... I w-- wanted to say h-- hello...." His stutter is so bad it nearly buries his accent. It's not something he normally has, only when he's extremely nervous, and this definitely fits the bill. He closes his eye, takes several slow, deep breaths like his therapist taught him, tries again without opening his eye. Block out the sight of the person, pretend he's alone in an empty room, practicing a role.

"Sorry... sometimes it gets quite bad. The anxiety, I mean." Better, no stutter, though it's a soft mumble now. "It's why I'm here." He gestures with both hands, indicating the apartment around them, before they return to his lap to clutch each other to a state of whitened knuckles.

...Sasuke definitely didn't expect to run into an English Hinata while smoking the first joint of his life, and it nonpluses him enough that he has no immediate response. At least that translates as patient silence.

He starts to bring the cigarette back to his lips, figuring another hit will give this newcomer room to breathe and speak and also to hopefully ease up on a little of the introvert-tension already scratching up the back of his neck... but he has it within an inch of his lips when a familiar glint catches his eye from between the folds of this stutterer's shirt, and he pauses. Waits, until the other's arms move around a bit more, and he can catch it at more than a glance.

A dogtag. Not just a military dogtag... one with an etching that dances and flares and steams like fire in Sasuke's gaze. But there's no temperature shift, and not a single surface in the room - not the metal braziers on the walls nor the reflective surface of the glass table, already dancing reflections of wavering candle flames - catches anything but plain, dull metallic light reflecting from the pendant.

    Well.

Sasuke may be bad at small talk, but when certain avenues open up...

Casually, he runs his empty hand back along his own neck, catching his thumb under the chain there and slowly tugging his own necklace out from beneath his shirt. "You sound like you could stand to be lit already," he comments - lightly, for him - as he moves, letting his own round hammered military tag fall onto his chest. If by some chance this other teen just has a family heirloom and latent untapped magic, all he'll see on Sasuke's chest is a battered taijitu, silver metal with a patina staining the pertinent areas black. If not - if there's magic working under the other's skin - he'll see the Uchiha Crest instead, still battered, but with the patina a deep red, shifting like blood and glinting like fire, and the Konoha symbol, reflecting an occasional flash of electric blue, etched into the "white" of the fan. He does pull the joint all the way to his lips this time, inhaling slowly and holding once his lungs are nearly-full, giving the other time to parse and respond. Assuming he ever unclenches opens his eye.

Yurick sighs and leans back into the couch, turning his face toward Sasuke as he lets his eye open a sliver. "I should, but I've never--"

He stops abruptly, sitting bolt upright with his eye wide in shock, gaze fixed on Sasuke's pendant. "You...." He coughs slightly, lowering his voice to a whisper. "You, too?" With the way his hand reaches up to clasp his own tag, there's no mistaking what he means. "Are we the only ones, or are there others here?"

Another magic-user. Yurick can tell the other boy is Japanese by his features, he can see the differences better than most non-Asians. Are their abilities vastly different as he would expect, is it something he might've read about in his textbooks, would the other boy even be willing to talk about it with one of his own kind?

This guy definitely needs some chill more than Sasuke does.

Or at least needs to get better about not throwing all his emotions into the air and seeing what sticks. (Or gets blown back.)

He lets out his breath, leaning his head back blowing the smoke upwards so the cross breeze from the open door can pull most of it out the window. "There are some others here. Not the entire building, but I know a few more on my floor." He's not going to out his roommates specifically - though he doubts they would entirely mind - but at least he can indicate that they aren't the only ones in a sea of civilians.

A beat. "This is the first of these for me. It's supposed to be calming, but I don't know yet if it works for me." Probably an entertaining statement to an onlooker, given how at ease and secure Sasuke appears.

His next blink is a little slower, though, and he finds himself still staring into the ceiling instead of tilting his head back down.

Normally, Yurick is better at hiding his emotions. Or at least he was until he had that massive nervous breakdown that landed him in the hospital and eventually led him to this place. He's having trouble getting back into that state of control, though his therapist cautioned him to learn the difference between bottling things up and holding things in for a short time until they can be vented in a healthy way.

It's somehow reassuring to know he's not the only magically active person in the building. The black-haired boy isn't a bad person from what Yurick can tell, just a bit abrasive. But that's what the pot is for, right?

"I've heard the first few... hits? They don't always have an effect because it has to clear some kind of blocking chemical from your system first. Then the psychotropics can start working." He's read a lot about the scientific side of this. Facts make it a bit easier to accept.

He finally takes out his own joint, staring at it as if it's going to bite him. It's then he realizes he forgot a lighter. Is it rude to use one of the candles? Will it get vaporized wax on the joint and ruin it? He's not about to ask the other boy to borrow his lighter, not when he worries about annoying the guy out of his early-stage high.

"Bloody hell...," he mutters, deciding after a quick glance around that he won't get caught. He raises a thumb as if in wordless approval of something, a tiny flame suddenly dancing on the tip of his nail. He tries to light the joint as fast as he can, forgetting at first to inhale to encourage the flame but finally getting it glowing. The first real inhale he can't even hold, the acrid smoke making him cough it all right out. Ugh, it tastes terrible.
