College AU wheeee!

Medical cards are a godsend if you're traumatized or sick or in some way messed up. Of course, the tricky part is getting over the idea that you're allowed to smoke weed by virtue of that card. Coming from Britain, a country where cannabis is illegal even for medicinal purposes, Yurick has it firmly stuck in his head that he shouldn't be doing this. For god's sake, he'd moved here for this explicit reason-- to this very apartment building, no less, since it had an openly pot-friendly reputation-- and he still couldn't bring himself to light the joint he carried.

Maybe he should start slow. Secondhand smoke, a contact high, just being around people who were already drifting. For the first time since moving here, he steps into the common room, his one good eye taking in the lay of the land and the solitary young man smoking on the couch. Biting his lip, he crosses to the couch and sits on the other end, giving the black-haired boy plenty of personal space.

... now if he could just get over this awkward silence.

Brilliant, Yurick. Very articulate.
