[ The last few years out of the ice hadn't really given Steve the impression that he was going to be living with someone eventually. He'd had his share of dates, sure, but it wasn't until he'd met Peter that he found himself awkwardly starting to fall for another guy from New York and starting to date him, knowing full-well who he was at night as well as during the day. The age difference, on all levels, was something to pause at, but Peter was an adult and he certainly knew what he wanted.

After nearly a year together, they'd decided it was time to get a place together, and now it was day one of the next step.

They had boxes strewn around the place, full of things they were going to have to figure out where to put. The place was big enough that they'd have a room for Peter to have as a lab, a room for Steve to work on his art (whenever he did get the time for that), and a room for the two of them to train - at least, that was how they were starting to lay things out.

They were well into the morning by now and Steve decided they needed a break. He came up behind Peter and tugged the younger man around and against his body.
]

So. I'm thinking we need to break in one of these rooms today. Got a favorite yet?

[Dating had never been easy for Peter. Gwen was - jeez, he still couldn't even really talk about her. She was the only person he'd ever loved, before Steve. Sure, after the disaster that was his first year of college, he'd slowly started going on the odd date or two - but it just wasn't right. There was never anybody he wanted to see a second time. Besides, how could Peter ever justify bringing a civilian into his world, ever again?

But then there was Steve. Charming, kind Steve - who had been through the same shit sandwich as Peter, more or less. Steve, who was probably the closest thing to indestructible as Peter would ever be able to find. The fact that he was a dude bothered Peter for...maybe fifteen minutes, but then, he'd been raised by Aunt May, who'd embroidered 'Love Is Love' on a pillow way before gay marriage was even remotely legal.

But now, a year into it, and Peter is happy. Honestly happy; he thinks Gwen would approve. At the very least, she'd smack him upside the head for taking so damn long. Really, though, Peter has no idea how they both accumulated so much crap. Steve hasn't been in the 21st century terribly long when you think about it, and Peter likes to think he was pretty low maintenance. But the unpacking has taken up most of the day, and Peter certainly isn't opposed to a break.

He smiles, setting down the box of undeveloped film rolls he had been holding and letting his hands fall to Steve's forearms comfortably.]

I concur. A favorite room? Hm. The living room, maybe. The view is awesome. Or the bedroom, always a classic.
