It was funny, sometimes-- how the things Harry probably admired most about Peter could also be the things that frustrated him into oblivion. There weren't a lot of people that could match Peter's selflessness or his resilience, but these things also tended to lend themselves to him walling himself off from the world. It was always with a smile, too-- as if a mask were enough to make people not worry. That might work on strangers, but not Aunt May and not Harry. He couldn't begin to know the gravity of all the things Peter hid or about his daily struggles, but he did know that something was twisting at him. Maybe old wounds were haunting him again, as they tended to for the both of them, or maybe it was something else.

Whatever the case was, Harry knew when to don the best friend cape and offer his support. There would be none of this solitary warrior fighting solitary battles nonsense on his watch.

It was with a bag of groceries slung over one arm and a box of fancy pastries under the other that Harry showed up at Peter's place. True staples of a Harry Osborn-style comfort mission. "Dinner--" He lifted up the groceries, which he intended to whip up into an awesome meal. "--and dessert." He held up the box of pastries, bought fresh from one of the more expensive shops. "Some of your favorites." Favorites that he probably went overboard on, but such was also the Harry Osborn way. He liked spoiling his loved ones.

"Prepare your taste buds, pal."

It had been a rough week, all things considered. Rough month, really, but this last week was particularly...harrowing. Midterms were looming, work was slow, and the streets were rougher than before. He wondered if maybe the prolonged absence of Spiderman had something to do with the uptick in crime, but that only made him more determined to bring it back down to a manageable level.

It was getting harder to hide, though, from Aunt May and especially Harry. Even with his incredible healing factor, sometimes it took longer than he might have liked to heal from a bruise or a split lip. Not to mention, running himself down wasn't doing his body any favors.

"Harry - " Peter couldn't help but laugh a little when he opened the door and found his friend there, ammunition in hand. Honestly, he'd been perfectly ready to skip dinner and start straight in on the homework before he headed out for the nightly patrol (because out of the three, clearly food was what he could do without). "Dude are those raspberries?"

The mysterious injuries niggled at Harry the most. He'd seen enough of it towards the end of high school, and Aunt May had pressed him if he knew what was going on with Peter. Which... he didn't, of course-- but back then, there was an excuse. It wasn't like it was uncommon for them to get into fights with the high school jerks. And Peter... well, he was good at doing that thing where he smiled and shrugged it off. It stopped after a while, and Harry didn't mull over it too much. But lately, he'd been catching glimpses of it again and Harry found himself worrying about his friend. No amount of prodding him for answers ever got him anywhere either, to Harry's eternal annoyance.

Well. Two could play at the 'Take Care of Yourself, Damnit' game, even if all Harry could really do right now was make and buy him food when Aunt May wasn't around to do it.

"Yep," he declared with a wide smile. "They're from that really amazing bakery on the Upper East Side." Food that was delicious and nice to look at. He set the pastries on the table. "I figured if chicken fettuccine alfredo didn't make you hungry, then I could get you to at least eat some sweets."

Would Harry really believe his lame fight club excuse? But then, what else could it be? Peter, the shittiest liar on the planet, had zilch in his bank of crap excuses. Keeping his mouth shut, a steel trap if you will, was a much better alternative than stumbling around a lie.

Honestly, getting him to eat regularly was half the battle. He needed four times the calories he had before, and he was cutting that down from what it was.

"I'm always hungry for your cooking. Seriously, who died and made you Masterchef?" Peter corrected, shaking his head and trailing after Harry into the kitchen. "You're a bad influence, sir."
goblinjr: (➥ Turn up the corners of your lips.)

PFFF oh goodness

[personal profile] goblinjr 2016-05-30 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
Why, sure. Everyone knows the guy with the self-preservation instincts of a log would thrive in a fight club.

That was probably the real reason why Peter hadn't spilled the beans on his web-slinging secret: to avoid the inevitable nagging from Aunt May and Harry. ...Well. Harry would try not to nag, per se, but the constant low-key attempts to poke at him and see if he was taking care of himself pretty much amounted to the same thing.

"Good." A continual source of pride for Harry, the enjoyment of his cooking. He enjoyed feeling useful and never hesitated to eat up the compliments. If it also meant he wouldn't have to try and force Peter to eat, all the better. "Oh, didn't I tell you? A bunch of Iron Chefs totally took me under their culinary wings." He flashed Peter a grin that said he was obviously and completely full of shit. No way was he that caliber of chef, but he did enjoy cooking and poking around for new recipes to try. That counted for a lot. He situated the bag of groceries on the counter before facing Peter again.

"I don't think your aunt'll mind as long as you're eating," he said, complete with a scrutinizing squint. Oh, and here comes one of those low-key prods at Peter's well-being now. "You need brain food, genius. You can't just hole yourself up with homework all night without delicious food."

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-05-31 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh for God's sake.

Aunt May would chain him to the radiator and spoon feed him applesauce a la Amanda Bynes in Hairspray. Besides, he didn't want to worry her. She certainly had enough on her plate without wondering whether or not Peter was alive every time Spiderman popped up on the news.

Now Harry - he was a step better, but not by much. Peter hated being a bother to anyone anyway. Suffering in silence was much more his speed.

"You should have your own show on Food Network. Like do you know how many people would watch Harry Osborn cook an omelette? A lot." Peter collapsed at the table, really starting to feel the weight of the week on his shoulders. "I mean, I can. I have. I was." He sighed, propping his chin in his head and hiding a wince when the motion inspired a twinge in the bruise on his neck. "Just got a lot going on right now, you know how it is."
goblinjr: (➥ No one knows the way I feel.)

[personal profile] goblinjr 2016-05-31 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
'Didn't want to worry her,' says the guy who comes home mapped in bruises, looking exhausted.

Harry scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Gimme a break. No one would watch that, Peter," he chided, not without humor. At most, it'd be amusing to see him inevitably try to show off and promptly mess that up. There'd be half an omelette on the floor and half of it somehow still clinging to the pan. "Now, a superhero cooking show... that'd be worth watching. Imagine Thor trying to cook." He laughed at the imagery. Would he even know what to do with a frying pan?

The grin eased up when he really took stock of how exhausted Peter looked, and his follow-up on how well he was eating did nothing to reassure him. He bit his tongue, refraining from scolding him. Not that it mattered, really. 'Damnit Peter,' was written all over his face. Instead of griping about Peter not eating, however, he resolved just to make some food. Imagine, an actual useful solution! He turned back around, getting all the pans and other necessary culinary tools out. The Parker kitchen was almost as familiar to him as his own.

"You wanna talk about it?"
spideyguy: (70)

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-05-31 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
His logic is flawed, yeah, but he's stubborn enough to make up for it. The night he begged her to just go to sleep was pretty brutal, but it was better than his garbage excuses.

"Literally everybody would watch it. You're a celebrity baby, and a cooking show would be perfect to rehabilitate your tabloid image." Peter teased, smiling into his hand. It could be one of those shows with recipes normal people could actually make at home! "Dude he'd zap it with a lightening bolt and it'd be cooked."

He could see the lecture bubbling up behind Harry's lips, but Peter was surprised when it didn't come. In turn, he couldn't exactly help the grateful look that slid onto his face. He didn't need to fight about it - he'd been thrown through a building last night, which, while it was nothing new - it was a brick building, and those hurt exponentially worse than glass buildings.

"No I'm fine." It's a reflex response at this point. Peter sighed softly and elaborated. "It's just, you know, stuff. Life stuff."
goblinjr: (➥ Are you serious right now?)

[personal profile] goblinjr 2016-05-31 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Stubborn is an understatement. In an argument between Peter Parker and Peggy Carter, who would win? They'd both just be standing there going, 'no, you move!'

If anyone knows his name, it's for all the wrong reasons - namely for being Norman Osborn's good-for-nothing son - but Harry held back from saying that out loud. He already complained too much about the long shadow his dad cast. "Celebrity's kind of an exaggeration, don't you think?" He gave a crooked smile. "I'd just embarrass myself on national television, man. Nooo thank you." Harry snickered. If only he could swing that into being an actual thing, but producing it would be a nightmare. "Better make sure the set has an open ceiling then!"

The look of gratitude wasn't lost on Harry. It was a good thing his back was turned when Peter spouted off the usual dismissive remark too, because it inspired a disgruntled and exasperated twist of expression. Why you gotta be like that, Peter? "Yeah, thanks for the riveting enlightenment, Captain Obvious," he countered, shooting a glance over his shoulder with a raised brow before turning back and setting about dicing up the chicken.

"Seriously. Are you pulling a Hermione Granger and time-traveling to take extra classes or what? You're always so wore out."

[personal profile] spideyguy 2016-05-31 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Until they teamed up and became the ultimate 'fuck you I do what I want' duo.

Part of the problem was the assumption many made that Harry was inherently good-for-nothing because he was Norman Osborn's son. This had only been exacerbated in light of recent events, but the stigma had been there before the Goblin, in any case. "If people show up to photograph you, I'd say it counts as celebrity."

"Like you don't already," He snorted and raised an eyebrow, smirk pulling at the edges of his lips. "I bet he makes a mean barbecue."

He could see the mild irritation in the set of Harry's shoulders, but he blessedly ignored it. Hey, if Harry was making a concerted effort not to lecture him, Peter wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. "I work hard to achieve this look, Harry, it takes a half hour makeup routine every day."

For a second, though, Peter imagined what it might be like if he just came clean. Peter Parker and Spiderman were the same person, but so often Peter found he could only be one or the other. It might even be a relief, like when he told Gwen. When he had somewhere to go after his chest was slashed open. Now he just collapsed on the nearest rooftop and let himself heal.

But he couldn't. He honestly didn't know how Harry felt about Spiderman in the first place, considering most of the press assumed Norman had killed the vigilante - and they tried not to talk about the details of Gwen's death and Norman's arrest as much as they could.

"College is hard," The words sounded like a hollow lie as soon as Peter said them. They both knew he'd been doing work on the collegiate level since junior high. "And, you know, everybody has shit they have to deal with."
goblinjr: (➥ Hear what I have to say.)

[personal profile] goblinjr 2016-06-01 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Good lordy, watch out supervillains.

"Hey! I do not," Harry countered with half-hearted indignation, but all for naught. Anyone who actually knew Harry knew that he was an accident-prone dork. "Man, you're making me wish I could rope him into making us food." They'd have better luck trying to find a different Avenger. Probably.

Pursing his lips to the side in the determined effort not to laugh, Harry settled for chucking an uncooked fettuccine noodle at Peter to show his agitation. "You're so full of shit. It's a wonder a little mob of flies doesn't start following you around."

"That's the best you got?" Peter wasn't exactly the world's greatest liar, so when pathetic excuses started sprouting up, there was definitely something else working on him. It no longer remained a simple hunch. Once the chicken was seasoned and cooking in the pan, Harry stopped to turn back around, hands on his hips and fixing a pointed stare at Peter. Not angry, but certainly frustrated and even more concerned.

"Why can't you just tell me what's going on? You were the one who said 'share the load' when stuff gets hard. Or is that only supposed to apply to me?"

"I will bet you $10 there is a compilation video somewhere on Youtube of all your shittiest public moments," Peter grinned, raising his eyebrows as if to goad Harry into challenging him and letting him look it up. "You should call Stark up, start hob-knobbing. That's the word for rich people drinking together, right?"

"They're too busy following you." Peter wrinkled his nose when the noodle hit him, picking it up off the table to start nibbling on it. His stomach growled audibly, revealing just how hungry he was, and he smiled sheepishly.

Aaaand here it was, the lecture. Harry was even harder to put off than Aunt May, sometimes, and it looked like it was going to be one of those times. "No, Harry, come on - "

Peter sighed, running a hand back through his already-wild hair. "This is just regular, everyday crap for me." Which, wow, that isn't even a lie. How sad is that? Getting thrown through buildings is a usual night for Peter. "I'd tell you if it was something serious." If it pertained to the serum and Oscorp, probably. Look, he knew it was going to come out eventually but that didn't mean he wouldn't do everything in his power to delay the inevitable. Peter didn't want the look on Harry's face to change when he saw him.

"No..." Harry sounded half-whiny, half-indignant about it. "I try to avoid other peoples' opinions of me. I don't need to see that." Being easily embarrassed and taking negativity aimed at him pretty hard tended not to be a good combination, and he was pretty sure - knowing his luck - a video like that actually existed somewhere. "Ugh-- that guy is such a jerk. He's the last Avenger I'd wanna hang out with!"

He opened his mouth to counter Peter's smart-ass remark, only to be immediately cut off by his friend's stomach growling noisily. With wide eyes, Harry paused to stare at him, barely containing a grin. "What the hell was that? Do you have gremlins in your house?" Teasingly, he bent over to peek under the table before making a show of looking around warily.

Very sad-- and frankly, all that did was intensify Harry's worry. "Geez... what counts as serious for you?" ...Well. Might as well be upfront: "Peter, your aunt's been calling me, asking about you coming home with bruises again. She's worried sick about you, buddy, and so am I. If something like that is 'everyday crap', I think that's pretty serious!" He'd been wracking his brain, trying to think about what it could be and coming up with very little. "Are you in trouble or something?"

"Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one." Peter snickered, making a mental note to create a collage card for Harry's birthday will all of his worst photos, press or Peter's personal ones. See! Harry's not the only artist, Peter can do some shitty photoshop. He'd make him hang it on the fridge and everything. "Dude I think he's pretty cool. Rocks the goatee and sciences the shit out of...everything."

"Don't be a dick, they'll hear you. And they'll come for you." Peter threatened, unable to help but smile when Harry bent over to check under the table. Look, it's been a long day and he skipped lunch. Well, he had a bag of Fritos but he's pretty sure that doesn't count.

"Eh, you know, lizard monsters, losing a limb, and/or the cancellation of Bravo's People's Couch." Harry's words do make him pause, though. "She called you?"

"What, no. Why does everyone always assume I'm on drugs? Is it the hoodie?" Peter shook his head. "Dude, it's nothing. No trouble, just me being clumsy on a skateboard and general stupidity." Well the last part was certainly on point. At least he doesn't have a visible black eye like he did two days ago. "Seriously, stop giving me the third degree, would you?"

"Yeah, and keeping them away from me is just fine," Harry countered, raising his brows. He already spent enough time worrying about what people thought of him, thank you. Oh God, you dastardly fiend. How dare you. "Well, you're a big jerk too. Of course you like him."

No, that doesn't count. "They must come after you all the time, then." He made a goofy open-mouthed smile that said he was awfully proud of that zinger before chuckling quietly and turning back to deposit the noodles into the boiling water with a little salt.

"If I had any noodles left to throw at you, I swear--" Peter was being a flippant jerk about the whole thing; he probably deserved a whole bag of noodles thrown at him.

Harry huffed a breath through his nose, his lips pressing into a thin line. "What do you expect? You're always so mysterious, Peter, and then you make up all these stupid excuses... Like, you always bend over backwards for everyone else, but then you keep pushing us away." It was frustrating and hurtful; Harry always had a hard time not taking things personally. He even found himself wondering from time to time if he was just overreacting. He sighed and held his hands up. "I just wanna help, and I don't get why you won't let me."

At least he was letting him make him some food. That was something.

"Wow, rude. You never know, you might like it. Seems right up your alley." Back to being a shithead, are we, Peter? Peter was quite the opposite. He held only a few people close, and that was fine by him. Spiderman's image, on the other hand - well, it mostly just annoyed him, considering some people weren't always grateful when he stopped their imminent mugging. "Who's your favorite Avenger, then?"

Hey, there were two grams of protein in there! And ten grams of fat, but shh. "I'm the gremlin master, they wouldn't dare." Peter unfortunately doesn't have anything to throw at Harry, so he'll have to give him that one.

Peter did sober a little, frowning down at the table as opposed to looking Harry in the face. "Harry..."

He could just say it, right now. Just come out and say it. But there was too much, far too much danger to telling him now, with everything else they had going on - no. It kept his mouth firmly shut.

"You know that I would do anything for you, and I know you'd do the same for me." Peter finally looked up, almost apologetic. "And I trust you. So I need you to trust me. This - it's not something you can help with. It's not something you should help with - it's not that bad, and it's something I have to do on my own. I'll be fine."

"So the next time my Aunt calls you, do me a favor and tell her I'm okay?" A brilliant lie presented itself, and Peter, tired as he was, latched on to it, damn the consequences. "- I got a second job. Do not tell May."

Peter. Good grief. "You really want me to come over there and slap you with this spoon, don't you?" And Harry'll do it, too. At the end of the day, Harry had never been good at making friends and didn't have many of them. Peter and his family were all he had. He didn't mind really, but he still found himself craving praise from others. Always desperately wanting people to like him and appreciate him. "My favorite?" They were all awesome (except Stark), but he never gave it much thought. "Hawkeye and Black Widow are pretty cool. They don't even need any powers or like... armor or anything. They're just naturally awesome."

Now, Harry didn't have killer aim or any martial arts finesse to kick the shit out of enemies with, but it was pretty inspiring that a normal(...ish) person could still be useful and fight back against all those guys who do have powers and tech.

"You're a gremlin something, alright." Not sure 'master' is the right word, though.

The tension in Harry's face and shoulders eased up a bit. It didn't will away the worry and he still didn't completely understand the mystery around it all, but Peter was opening up. Progress was progress.

"I do trust you." But he also knew how Peter was, and how prone to running himself ragged he could be. A second job made a lot of sense, but he still didn't buy the skateboard and clumsiness excuse about the bruises. "Another job? As what, target practice at a boxing gym?" It was only a half-tease, because honestly-- but he relented with a sigh and nod. "Alright, I won't tell her." He probably should, but he won't.

"But y'know... you can always just ask me if you need extra cash." And - of course - Harry knew the answer he'd get in response. They've had this conversation a billion times, and it always ended with Peter refusing to take money from him. But Harry wouldn't be Harry if he didn't offer.

"Kinky." Peter wouldn't put it past him, honestly. If he had to hazard a guess as to why Harry had so much anxiety over other people's opinions about him, he'd probably point the finger at Norman and all the ridiculous pressure that came from being an Osborn. Peter - he got to take off the Spiderman mask at the end of the day and walk down to the grocery store (relatively) unmolested. Harry didn't get to stop being Harry. "What! You pick Hawkeye and Widow over Captain America? Dude."

He's not wrong, Peter just enjoyed drooling over Captain America.

Peter almost felt bad, lying, but the mild relief on Harry's face is enough to assuage his guilt. "Taking pictures doesn't pay much, I needed to do something else. I'm - " He wracked his brain trying to think of something that made sense. "I'm a bartender." It would explain the late hours, at least. "It's kind of a...rough place, but the tips are good."

"Don't tell her, she'd kill me. She doesn't want me taking time away from school." Now that wasn't a lie. Aunt May liked to try and convince him he didn't need to help, except naturally he did. Damn, now he wanted to get a second job.

"No, Harry, you know I wouldn't ask that of you." It's a kind gesture, but he would feel so unbelievably guilty if he ever accepted. "It's kind of you to offer, though, but no thanks. We'll be fine."
goblinjr: (➥ That didn't go as planned.)

Damnit, Peter. No matter how Harry tries to get the best of you, he can never quite manage it. "Shut up," Harry shouted, unable to keep the laughter out of his voice as he hid his face with a hand and shook his head. Just gonna stir the noodles and start preparing the sauce now, thank you. And Peter wouldn't really be wrong. "Oh, come on. Captain America's totally overrated." Not really, but Harry had to dig at Peter when he could. "You just like staring at him."

"A bartender?" Imagining Peter Parker bartending... Harry tried not to laugh, because that was the last place most people would imagine an introverted nerd working at. But it made sense. No wonder he didn't want Aunt May to know. She'd be so unbelievably mad. And Harry... well. He wasn't exactly happy about it either, but he knew Peter well enough to know that he was impressively quick on his feet. He could hold his own when he wanted to. That wouldn't stop Harry from worrying about him, but at least he had answers now. "I don't think taking time away from school would be her big issue. Getting slapped with a chair or... a fist would be her main issue." He scratched at the side of his face. "To be honest, I'm not crazy about it either, but I'm glad you told me. Thank you. That's all I wanted." He'll try not to be such a nag now. "And I promise, your secret's safe with me."

Unless Peter ended up in the hospital, heaven forbid. Then he was intervening and telling Aunt May.

"I know, but sometimes I wish you would." Harry didn't mind; he had so much to spare. And the Parkers... they did fine, but their situation was much more modest. As much as he always wanted to help, though, he always appreciated that they never cared about his money. Just Harry. "Alright... But the offer's always open, Pete. It's not a big deal."

"Make me," Peter's grinning cheekily, like the shit he is at heart. The food is starting to smell really good, and Peter inhaled deeply, resting his head down on the table as Harry cooked. "You take that back, you godless heathen. He's freaking awesome, you SWINE."

Peter's glad it's enough to get Harry to let it go, but the guilt sits hot and heavy in the pit of his stomach. "It's not that bad. We have bouncers. But sometimes it gets a little hairy. I'm fine, though, really." Peter granted him a small smile, clearly grateful that Harry would keep a secret like that for him. "You don't need to worry. I didn't want anyone to worry, that's why I didn't say anything."

Well, it's a good thing he won't, with his healing factor.

If he ever, ever did, Harry would know it was well and truly serious. Like, Aunt-May-is-in-the-hospital-she-might-die serious. "It's not a big deal for you, Harry, but it would be a big deal for me."

"I'll take your dessert away," Harry threatened, shooting a glare over his shoulder at Peter. Are you willing to forfeit all those delicious pastries to keep being an ass? Are you? "Why would I take it back? It's the truth!" He stifled his laughter with the back of his hand, juggling the stirring between each of the things he had on the stove like a seasoned pro.

"You keep saying that," Harry pointed out, raising an eyebrow. "You trying to convince me or you?" It's not nagging. He's just asking, okay? Out of curiosity. Probably. "Well, that's our job. We have to worry about you 'cause you don't worry about yourself enough."

It's true, and you know it's true, Peter.

He let out another sigh, but a far less irritated one judging by the quiet smile. More like an... 'okay, okay, you win' sort of sigh. "That's fine, bud. I won't pester you about it." Nothing wrong with wanting to make things work on your own. He could respect that.

"But Harry," Peter turned on the full force of his puppy dog eyes, wide and pleading as they were. "That's so not fair!" It's the principle of the thing, Harry. "Is not! How very unpatriotic of you. I'm disappointed. Bald eagles everywhere are crying right now."

"Both," Peter admitted with a sigh. He definitely went through periods where he wondered if he was making any difference at all, as Spiderman. "Sometimes I need a reminder, but it is."

...okay, he'll give you that one. Peter did have a tendency to bite off far more than he could ever hope to chew.

"I do appreciate it, though." Peter clarified, turning his head to rest his cheek on the table instead. Accepting help wasn't a bad thing, Peter knew that. But he also knew he didn't need help, and accepting it when you didn't need it just wasn't right.

God, not the puppy dog eyes. Harry never won against those, so he promptly gave Peter one last scolding stare before whipping back around and focusing on the food. "You're the only one who's not playing fair! Behave or no dessert!" When did he start sounding like Aunt May? That was worrying. Maybe the kitchen had so much of May's influence floating around, it was affecting him. "Good. Maybe they can fly around and water plants with their tears. That'd be useful."

Well, aren't we on a roll this evening? Harry was impressed with the honesty, but he did feel a little bad for Peter. That guy was his own worst critic. "That's why you need to stop running off and trying to handle everything on your own, Pete," he replied, his voice softer and void of aggravation this time. Only concern and camaraderie remained. "You get so wrapped up in this bubble of, like... self-sacrificing nonsense and you just end up creating this rift between you and the people who love you. That ends up hurting more than anything you could ever hide from us.

"At the end of the day, I know you're just... always gonna do what you think is best, but you don't always have to take the loneliest road."

He flashed a sincere smile Peter's way when he went to go grab the plates and silverware while the pasta drained. "I know. Sometimes you just gotta make or break it on your own. I get it." Once the chicken, fettuccine, and the sauce were all mixed together, he finished it off with some garnish and set a plate of the end result and a fork down in front of Peter.

"There you go. You can tell the gremlins to get lost now."

Peter made a pathetic whining noise, closing his eyes where he was resting against the table. Yeah, he totally did sound like Aunt May, Peter was starting to have war flashbacks. "Tears are saltwater Harry, that would kill everything. You're killing the planet with your anti-patriotism."

"It's not self-sacrificing, it's my responsibility. It's something I have to do, Harry, and dragging other people into it with me isn't going to end well." Is he still talking about his fake-bartending job? Sure he is. Peter sounded so tired, feeling that rock of guilt get a little bigger at Harry's concern. "But if I hadn't told you, you wouldn't be worrying. So now you're going to worry about it, which is what I was trying to avoid." Aunt May would only the three billion times worse, especially if he gave her the same excuse he gave Harry.

"Every road is lonely, Harry. We all die alone, right?" He's feeling a little bleak today, sorry.

"Oh my god," Peter groaned, practically cuddling the plate towards his face when Harry put it in front of him. "You sir are a god amongst men. Fuck. This smells incredible." His stomach gave a loud exclamation of agreement.
