Scout laughs as they make their way out of the late night showing of the movie they had just watched as part of their date night. "...and when she threw him in the pool? Priceless!" She loops her arm through Allison's and leans her head on her shoulder. Nights like this? When she could, for a fleeting moment, pretend they had normal lives with normal problems...those were her favorite nights.

She walks back to the car with her girlfriend, where she begrudgingly untangles herself from Allison and slides into the driver's seat. They had already decided before they would go to Denny's after the movie. It was one of the few places in town that would still be open.

Once they arrive and she's all parked, she hops out of the car and rushes to the other side before Allison can get out. She opens the door and offers her arm again, beaming. "Let's get some pancakes."

Allison happily links her arm in her girlfriend's. She enjoys closeness like this with Scout. Date nights don't happen often enough, in her opinion, but between them being in school and them protecting all of Beacon Hills from every spooky threat that pops up there's not always a lot of time for movies and pancakes. When such things happen, like tonight, she really enjoys them.

"I would love some pancakes." She grins. "You know how they set down the different kinds of syrups when they give you your food? I think I'm going to try a different kind of syrup this time. They have berry syrup, right? That's not gross, is it?" Allison scrunches up her nose slightly.

"Ooh, have you ever had the strawberry one? It's so good!" She nods enthusiastically as they make their way to a table in the back.

She grins as she sits down across from Allison. For a few minutes she doesn't say anything at all, but eventually, quietly, she says: "I love nights like this..." she reaches across the table and links her fingers with Allison's. "I wish we got to have more of them."

"No, but strawberries and pancakes sound like two things that were meant to go together, so I'm absolutely going to try it." She laughs a little bit, sitting down.

Allison holds onto Scout's hands like she's holding something truly precious. "I know what you mean. I'd give anything for a little more off-time with you." She sighs and her smile fades, but just a little. "Sometimes it gets pretty crazy around here, you know? I mean, we always have each other and that's something but sometimes I wish we lived somewhere a little more normal."

"You'll love it." She assures her with a nod.

"Yeah, I know." She says, sounding a little bummed. "I wish we did, too. But...I guess it just makes these moments even better." She always tries to find the silver lining in a bad situation.

Allison just smiles at Scout, her mouth already watering. She's been craving pancakes for a while and this new idea of strawberry syrup just fuels that craving even further.

It's just like Scout to try and find a silver lining. Allison can't help but smile. It makes her want to steal a kiss, but given the table between the two of them she does the next best thing and kisses Scout's hand, then grinning up at her. "I love you."

She beams as Allison picks up her hand and presses a kiss to her fingers. "I love you too."

A waitress comes over to take their orders and a few moments later, she disappears again and Scout focuses her attention back on her girlfriend. "What shenanigans are we getting up to after this?"
