Just post-Avengers, before SHIELD has arrived to take Loki into custody?

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-05-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Rubble still covers the floor, two sets of armor stand guard over Loki despite his apparent surrender, but Jarvis will still be hospitable. "Get our guest a drink, J," Mr. Stark had said, and while Jarvis is almost certain he hadn't been serious, there is that chance, and so the voice comes, coolly formal, from no particular place in the devastated room.]

Sparkling or still?
silvertonguedtrickster: (restrained)

Works for me!

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-05-25 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[The loss still hasn't fully sunk in for Loki, but his bound wrists and Thor's watchful eye are easy reminders. He'd had an army, and this pathetic band of mortals had managed to ruin everything. His so called brother had helped to ruin his plans. And the man wonders why Loki no longer thinks of him as a brother.

When Stark offers a drink he thinks it's one of the man's rather unpleasant jokes, but his butler responds as though he's serious. Loki raises his eyebrows, silent for a moment. It is a good time for one...]

[Still, then. It will be a trifle easier, in fact. One of the two sets of armor stirs and clanks across the room, delicately removes a blue glass bottle from those lined up on the bar, returns, bends at the waist, holds it out. The glowing blue eye slits seem to glare, and it's almost unnerving how still it is once it's stopped moving.]

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-05-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
[When the armor approaches him Loki watches with mild interest. Stark is certainly strange, and he can't help wondering how anyone tolerates the man.

He huffs noisily as he takes the bottle from the so called butler. Is that malice he sees? Is that even possible?]

One drink before my inevitable imprisonment. Your master is so generous.
britishbinary: skeptical closeup (highly skeptical)

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-05-25 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Malice? Certainly not. And the most direct route for the Mk VII armor's launch had only coincidentally been the path where Loki had been standing.

The armor straightens and returns to its still, silent vigil.]

It was a reasonable request. I saw no reason to deny it.
silvertonguedtrickster: (oh really?)

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-05-25 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think your master was serious.

[Not that Loki's going to complain. He does, however, turn the bottle over in his hands, looking it over before he makes any move to drink.]

Are you meant to be my babysitter until I'm carted away to face my fate?
britishbinary: (Entering offensive mode)

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-05-25 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps not. But you appear to have been left to me for the time being, therefore it is my decision.

[There are a few moments of silence, broken only by the distant sound of the not-yet-organized chaos of recovery. Jarvis should not care, but his medical sensors indicate thirst, bordering on extreme, as much as he can make sense of the readings. Looking after Mr. Stark obstinate people who will not take care of themselves is deeply ingrained.]

You are thirsty. There is no reason to refrain.

[Loki stares at the bottle a bit longer before he gives in to thirst and opens it for a long drink. He closes his eyes for a moment, the feel of cool liquid on his throat soothing. Now if only he didn't have blood all over his fave from the sound beating that green beast gave him...

If Jarvis is expecting any thanks he's bound for disappointment.]

What are they planning to do with me? I'm sure you know what they're discussing.
britishbinary: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-05-25 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
[There is no thanks expected. Even now, Mr. Stark forgets to thank him. He is well-used to doing his job without thanks. Jarvis is busy studying the readings his medical scanners are giving him and attempting to convert them into human-equivalent numbers--he has not been programmed with an Asgardian baseline, but these make little sense even in comparison to Thor--and answers somewhat absently.]

Yes, I do know. There has been no conclusion reached. Several theories have been advanced. I believe some of them will not be, er, taken into serious consideration.
silvertonguedtrickster: (fallen)

Sorry for the late reply.

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-06-01 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Loki can imagine what some of those ideas might be, mostly involving torture and ultimately his death. He's sure Banner in particular has some unpleasant suggestions. Probably Stark too.]

If they wish to execute me I would prefer a quick death. I doubt anyone is favoring any other solution.
britishbinary: (Hovering)

No hurry friend!

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-06-01 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jarvis replays the flurry of overlapping voices, compiling a brief list of all suggestions, outlandish and more reasonable.]

I do not believe execution is among the top three options.

[It is number four. But it is being overridden, and dropping in popularity.]
silvertonguedtrickster: (brooding)

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-06-01 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Then what are those three favorite suggestions, pray tell?

[He sighs and takes another gulp of his water. The whole situation is humiliating, and he wasn't even being given a chance to speak for himself.]
britishbinary: (Close attention)

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-06-01 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[It is possible that Jarvis should not be sharing these discussions with the subject under discussion, but he has not yet been given a reason not to.]

Imprisonment in your home realm of Asgard, to face justice for your crimes there. Imprisonment and trial on Earth to face justice for your crimes here. And exile, the specifics of which have not been discussed.
silvertonguedtrickster: (considering the matter)

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-06-05 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Loki takes a moment to think this over. He's not sure which would be worse without knowing more. If he were without his powers, then the worst would be exile by far.

It's morbid curiosity that prompts his next question.]

Which does Thor favor?
britishbinary: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] britishbinary 2015-06-07 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Thor favors imprisonment upon Asgard. But it does not appear he is able to give specifics as to the manner of imprisonment, nor the restraints that will be used to ensure you do not escape. As such, his suggestion has very little traction at the moment.

[Jarvis listens to the discussion for a few moments longer.]

If I may speculate, I believe that rather than withholding the information, Thor does not know precisely what would be done, were you to return to Asgard.
silvertonguedtrickster: (looking down on you)

[personal profile] silvertonguedtrickster 2015-06-08 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Loki huffs.]

None of them know what the consequences of their choices will be. The so-called "Avengers" don't know what the people of Midgard would do to me. Thor has no idea what Odin would decide. They're all fools if they think they can predict the outcome.
