minor injury meme.

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

[3/1/3 - sounds like something Castle would do to himself. y/y?]

[It was supposed to be a fun game of capture the flag between Kate's precinct and Gregson's precinct, but it had turned into a minor medical emergency when Castle had tripped over a tree root and busted his head on the nearby sidewalk. Admittedly he'd done it to himself by trying to walk backwards through the trees, attempting to be covert. Needless to say, he'd failed. Now he's sitting up against a tree and bleeding profusely from the gash on his temple as Joan approaches with the first aid kit.]

Who knew this much blood was in the human head?

[It could have happened to anybody.

That's what she'd tell him. It's her story and she's sticking to it.

Hearing that it was him did put some urgency in her step, though. She would have been quick for anyone, of course, but Castle is a friend, so she can be forgiven for an extra layer of concern. She crouches in front of him, looking more closely at the wound as her fingers unlatched the first aid kit.]

Well, you know. Lots of important things in the head.

[She takes a pair of gloves from the kit and pulls them on before leaning closer to touch the area around the wound.]

Any loss of consciousness?

I don't think so, no.

[He winces when she touches the wound. Castle really managed to do a number on himself.]

Let me know if I need to go to the hospital. You know, I heard they can use what basically amounts to a glue gun to sew people up now.

More like superglue than a glue gun, actually.

[She tears open a couple packets of sterile gauze and puts them together, then presses them to the wound.]

We need to stop the bleeding first. Then I'll be able to tell if you need stitches. Or glue.

[Castle makes a hissing noise when she puts her fingers to the wound. It's not that she's touching him particularly forcefully, it just stings regardless.]

Honestly if it does need to be closed up I hope I get the glue. Because how cool is that?
formersurgeon: (calm)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2014-12-07 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[She lessens the pressure as he hisses to try to make him a little more comfortable]

It is pretty cool. I'll make sure you go to an ER that has the glue.

[She lifts the gauze for a moment, taking a look at the wound before pressing the gauze to it again]

Looks like you're in luck. Glue it is.

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-12-08 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Castle glances at her.]

So you think it needs glue? Not stitches?
formersurgeon: (close)

[personal profile] formersurgeon 2014-12-08 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly? I would stitch it. The glue works best in areas that don't have a lot of movement. Which, this being your face...here, hold this...

[Once she gets him pressing on the gauze, she sits back on her heels.]

The glue might do it, but there's a significant chance of separation.
